From our party of 4 the steak pie was nice . Chi Ken burger and scampi was over cooked .BLT was poor chicken tasted funny . No o e came near to ask about our meal . Won't be back

Me and my boyfriend Kevin had amazing time we enjoyed our meal food was delicious we enjoyed our 9 month anniversary and enjoyed our drinks especially enjoyed my shots of spunky monkey staff was really nice and friendly music was good and we will definitely be coming back we really enjoyed ourselves

Leider war Stromausfall und es gab keine Speisen nur Getränke aus der Flasche oder Dose. Wäre nett gewesen vorab eine Info zu erhalten, hatten auf 19.30 einen Tisch reserviert. Wir sind weitergezogen und haben anderswo gegessen.

The restaurant is super stylish and quaint. We were in town for New Years and wanted to try a new place. From the decor to the cocktails and menu this place was great and beautifully decorated for the holiday. Took my family of 4 (2 kids, 12 & 17) and everyone loved the dishes they chose. We ordered a bit of everything to try. The fish and chips, Chicken and mushroom pie, bacon & cheese burger & goat cheese salad & onion tarte tatin. It was all a great start to NYE!!!

Lovely venue on grassmarket. Booked for NYE and the live music was great, staff were pleasant, and drinks are very reasonably priced considering the area. One of my favourite bars

Our table allowed us to watch the football which was good. The service was good but the food was not the best. I had the pulled beef on brioche which was lukewarm and only a small portion with just a handful of fries, even though it was £15.95! My girlfriend had the CBLT which was OK. I was still hungry after eating! I would come back for a few beers to watch the football but don't think I'll be ordering food again because of this visit. Regards, Paul

Lovely staff. Only had the table booked for 2 hours but they managed to get us another table so we could stay for longer.

My partner and I went to the black bull lasntight for some food and a couple drinks, and our experience was outstanding, the food was tasty and the prices where reasonable the service overall was amazing, the guys work very hard to make sure your fed and watered and over all happy. I will definitely be visiting again

Couldn’t fault the food - very tasty! Was a bit noisy but it was a Saturday after all. Staff really pleasant and helpful. Would definitely return.

We always make sure to visit The Black Bull every single time we take a trip to the city. This is our 5th time and we have never received a bad experience, hence why it has fast become our 'go-to' establishment. Excellent food, it's what keeps us coming back for more. Very friendly staff to. Absolutely no complaints from me. 100% worth a visit.

I did not take food but good service to watch the match which we bookeda table. good view. Will go again as safe too in grass Market. staff dressed on Halloween costumes very good

Great spot to watch the match. Food is amazing especially the scotsman fries & nachos & burgers. Fan Zone prices for drinks makes it great value for money too.

Generally a pleasant pub. Food was OK. Not sure if the chips were fried with fish fryer, as it had a fishy taste. The dog enjoyed them, so at least he was happy. The beer was lovely and plenty of screens to watch the sport, which is why we chose it in the first place

Can't fault the food, service or staff. The staff particularly were really accommodating and friendly during what was a very busy time due to the World Cup Final. One thing, we booked a table so that we could watch the football and the view from our table was seriously obstructed by a pillar. One of the reasons we booked was to have a good view of the game. Not the staff's issue per se, and not one they could resolve for us at the time (though they did look to see if they could), but still, not ideal for a sports bar.

Unfortunately our waitress was very inattentive. She forgot our beverages and then left us sitting without a part of our order for a long time. Then we see her heading for the door with a cigarette. The food was so-so. The haggis fries were good.

Food had nothing to be excited about for the price charged. The lady serving us kept reminding us that our booking for 2hrs was expiring soon again and again.... whilst the service was very slow. The football screen noise was too loud to hear yourself talk.

They were out of most everything we tried to order and weren’t particularly friendly to out-of-towners. We had an under 18 with us and despite having an hour and a half until the age restriction set in, they tried to hurry us out of the restaurant several times. What food we did get was fine, but nothing better than you could get at any pub up the road.

Venue and staff were very nice. Food was good but expensive, clearly designed to rip tourists off. Website said pub quiz which we were later told no longer happens meaning the reason for us coming…well there was no reason. Maybe update the website of your events as honestly planning a night out to do something that no longer happens is frustrating to say the least.
