Outstanding food, could not stop raving about flavors and quality. Now one of our favorite restaurants in Maui. Highly recommend.

We come to Maui every year and this was our first (somehow, but won’t be our last) visit to Taverna! It was absolutely amazing! Alejandro was our waiter and he was excellent! The food was delicious. Highly recommend the Caesar salad (one of the best I’ve ever had), margarita pizza, short rib, spaghetti carbonara and meat bolognese. The ice cream sandwiches were super yummy for dessert. HIGHLY recommend!! We will be back!

It is a beautiful casual place with good food. We spent get a lot, tried the home made bread which people raved about. I am not a focaccia person so I didn’t enjoy it but we were told what it was before we ordered it. I got the spinach and ricotta raviolis and there were only 4, I would have hoped for 6 min with more spinach, seemed more like an appetizer than a meal. Family shared a margarita pizza and not wasn’t world. I would have liked to see splotches of fresh mozzarella in a sea of sauce and fresh basil. Overall it was good but I will probably go back to check out the more opulent dishes.

The patio at Taverna is a lovely place to eat the yummy food and great drinks they serve. The wine list has many good choices and the bar will make whatever you’d like. My husband had a very good Mai Tai and my daughter and I enjoyed sipping Rombauer Sauvignon Blanc. The Caesar salad was large enough to share. Their margarita pizza with a very thin crust was delicious as were the short ribs and other Italian offerings. If you want delicious Italian food and drink in a lovely setting, try Taverna.

We live at Kapalua, and have been going to Taverna since it opened, have previously thought it could have/should have been better. Now it seems it really is! There have been a few minor menu changes over the past few months, but in essence both the cooking and the service seem better by a magnitude. First the cooking: there were several off-menu specials, two of which we ordered and were very impressed by. Other dishes seemed at least as good -- if not better -- than they have been. The service was very different from any time since pre-COVID. Alejandro, our server, meticulously described the specials, answered our questions knowledgeably, and made excellent recommendations. When I asked for a glass of red wine to go with my pasta, after briefly asking my preferences, he brought two options for me to try. We kept noting how good each dish was (and our pleasant surprise about that). We will go back soon! Now we feel like we have a(another) neighborhood restaurant.
