Tapa offers the tastes and flavours of Spanish cuisine to diners in the Leith area of Edinburgh. It is set up in a former warehouse on the cobbled street of 19 Shore Place, just moments from the Water of Leith and 15-20 minutes from the city centre by car, bus or taxi. The tastefully decorated interior brings back memories of Iberia, creating a warm and sociable atmosphere that accentuates the pleasure of eating at Tapa.

The restaurant’s menu consists of innovative and more varied Spanish Plates. Combining the best of what Scotland and Spain has to offer. Our drinks menu boasts a collection of premium wine and beer perfect for pairing with appetising lunch and dinner options – here, too, the vineyards of Spain dominate.

If you can't already tell, we love everything to do with Spain! From the Chorizo we source from a small family producer in Getaria to the super unique En Rama Manzanilla from Sanlúcar de Barrameda, if it's Spanish we're absolutely there! However, we get that- to the uninitiated- that that might be overwhelming, so, whilst our Drinks Menu is packed full of real treats for those that want to take a deep dive, we totally understand that that might not be for everyone, so, we thought we'd start our Drinks Menu with a wee shortcut to some of our absolute favourites! As with the Tapas Menu, if at any point you need a hand, please don't hesitate to ask, we're always more than happy to chat about our drinks!

We've worked closely with the Navajas family of Navarette in La Rioja Alta & the Eguizábal family of Bodegas Franco-Españolas in Logroño for over 12 years now and- not only- do we trust their winemaking skills implicitly, but, these three wines are excellent examples of what a Rioja should be, that also out perform their price point dramatically!

Eating outdoors is a delight here. The service is unintrusive and efficient. The fare is authentic and very tasty and I'm afraid to recommend it because it already seems to fill up quickly but to be truthful, it is far too good to miss or be stingy with one's appreciation and recommendation.

Always great food at Tapa. The service is excellent and the price is reasonable - especially on a Thursday after 17:00 when the food has 50% off.

Outdoor seating is always taking a chance in Edinburgh, but it worked out for us beautifully on this occasion. Took advantage of the lunch menu which lasts till 5, I think. Food was served all at once which makes a small table quite awkward. Otherwise everything was perfection.

We were able to sit outside for lunch. The lunchtime offer was well judged and, according to my Catalonian companion authentic and well executed.

We have visited a few times for special occasions and it's always a memorable experience with wonderful service and the food is amazing as always ! We enjoyed the strawberry sangria as recommended and we can't wait to return again.

Had such a lovely meal. Staff were so friendly and attentive, as usual, and food was served quickly whilst remaining beautiful in its appearance. One of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh FOR SURE!

Food was really tasty,felt much more authentic than some other tapas restaurants around the city and really good choice! Service was great as well, very attentive and friendly. Some of the dishes felt expensive for what they were, and only major gripe was being charged £10 for bread and dip for 4 people - that was a bit cheeky, bearing in mind you end up spending quite a bit on various small plates.

I was early for my booking. However i was made very welcome and offered a drink until ny table became free. The service was prompt and non-intrusive, the food was excellent and what I couldn't eat I brought home. The menu seems fairly narrow but the execution is exemplary and the bread rolls are a little bit of bread heaven.

Well received, comfortable table in the front part of the restaurant. Not at all noisy and good friendly service. One or two items on the menu had run out but we got a decent array of different dishes ( the Morcilla de burgos, and the Berenjenas con miel were very good ) and a good bottle of wine (Vermador). All reasonably priced.

A selection of classic tapa dishes beautifully presented with prompt, friendly but not intrusive service and an ambience as close to real Spain as you can possibly get without a three hour flight from Edinburgh. Almost like going on holiday,

Really good quality annd interesting dishes with a great range of drinks. Located in a historic building; it has great atmosphere with friendly service. Well worth seeking out & the tram now makes it really easy to get to Leith.

Great meal again with friends at Tapa. Food was fresh and quickly brought to the table after ordering. Only disappointment was the mushroom croquettes being removed from menu. Bring them back, they were my favourite!! Will be back again!

The Thursday Club is a lovely tapa’s night out. Unfortunately there was no guitarist ( performed for Valentine’s night ). However a very good night out with very good quality tapas. Will be back in March.

My friend and I had a really nice lunch here in a miserable wet day. The server was lovely, polite and solicitous. Good menu with plenty of choices. Prawn pancakes were delicious and small sweet Padron peppers. Comfortable seating.

As always excellent food and superb service . The experienced team at Tapa put a lot of thought in to making it a very relaxed and enjoyable evening. Serving us a wonderful selection of dishes and lovely finishing touches with a sharing sorbet and mini box of chocolates which were all yummy 🤤
