Overall very disappointing across the board, including, drinks, food, and service. We regret coming here. The Odd Duck was much better. The cocktails (the Respect Your Elders: gin, Aperol, and St. Germain, and the Blackberry Bonded: allegedly made with blackberry infused Evan Williams bourbon, simple syrup, rhubarb bitters, club soda and lemon) both tasted tasted pretty much the same, more like a super sour margarita than anything else). We sent the Gin/St. Germain back hoping a simple Tanqueray Negroni would be better. Unfortunately, we missed that there was a Still Negroni on the draft cocktail list which the waitress substituted. The replacement cocktail was only a marginal improvement. The brief wine list is a hodgepodge selection of from all over the place but Texas, with only three whites and three reds by the glass. The monochrome, bacon wrapped dried apricot appetizer was five small slices of bacon rolled around even smaller tinier bits of apricot, all smeared with angry orange dressing, came with no arugula that we could find, just five sad little bits around the edge of a bread plate. The only redeeming quality of the mains (braised pork cheeks and the teres major steak) was that they were tender. Otherwise they were undistinguished both in appearance and flavor, slathered in some dark brown and equally tasteless gravy. The service was relatively quick but otherwise unhelpful. Our waitress didn't bother to even mention the specials, let alone describe anything else on the menu or give us guidance on what to choose beyond advising us to order at least five dishes. Our main courses arrived several minutes apart instead of at the same time. The server walked away while still (presumably) rattling of a memorized description of our dishes. The remaining two people who turned up at our table during the course of our meal didn't make the slightest effort to find out if everything was okay. No one thanked us after we paid or as we were leaving.

We dined here on a Friday before a show at the Paramount. The ambience was vibrant and we felt, next time, we will sit in the bar area to fully appreciate it. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and on point with her recommendations. I remiss not remembering her name. She was awesome. We had their signature ice ball cocktails and recommend them since it’s their thing. Food is shareable and we were satiated with 4 items—cheese plate, chicken and chorizo ricolette, pad thai and the Triple G salad. We live in town so will definitely be back and bringing friends.

Beautiful place with great vibes! Excellent service. Menu had a great variety and each dish was exquisitely prepared. Flavors were incredible. Highly recommend!!!

Really cool 2nd floor walk up space. Fun vibe, warm, friendly,attentive staff. Interesting menu options served tapas style. Fun place!

Loved the food! The drinks were so different! Loved it. The food was incredibly tasty and unique. Our server was great with recommendations! Great atmosphere too

I’ve been to Swift’s Attic many times and was expecting the experience to be as good as I remembered. The food was still pretty good. Our server was friendly and helpful. The hostess was not. As soon as we arrived she stated rather rudely that we needed to be out in one hour for the next reservation. It’s understandable, as heavy traffic got us there a little after our scheduled time but within the grace period. We were all surprised by her tone and as a result, we ordered only a few appetizers and drinks. We moved on to the next restaurant where we had a proper meal. Unfortunate, as I really liked Swift’s Attic.

We are regulars at Swifts Attic, dining there on our visits to Austin. Normally the food and service is excellent, as reported in reviews we have posted to other sites. Unfortunately this weekend the experience was sub-par. We ordered our meal, enjoyed our appetizers and drinks and then waited. The vegetables arrived first and we ate those. 15-20 minutes passed before the first member from our party of 4 received his main course. Not unacceptable, except the rest of us had to wait another 20 minutes for our meals and we’d already eaten the veggies. The food was also very bland. I don’t know why the experience was off this weekend and I doubt we will return, which is sad due to all the previous great experiences.

Drinks were a bit watered down and not a great value for $ Food was hit or miss. Shrimp and Grits were great but hot cheeks (pig cheeks) were dried out and chewy not moist and tender and drowning in a sauce that really didn’t seem complementary. Probably would not go back again.

Good was good but took long time to get entrees. Brick walls on both sides bounce off so much noise could not even hold a conversation. Dessert menu shrunk so that was disappointing too.

Their smaller plate, sharing menu is out of this world. Everything we ate was fantastic. The two of us had the Tiger Apricots, Fungus Among Us, Triple G Salad, Hot Cheeks, and Old Dirty Galbi and were quite satisfied. And the staff were wonderful. I'll definitely be returning.

Creative and interesting cocktails and food. We ordered a selection of dishes and shares between 2 people. I enjoy the ambience and decor and it feels like a special place. Definitely recommend.

Swifts Attic has a very unique experience for a nice cocktail and small bites to eat. reminded me of being in a classic pirate ship, or what I would imagine it to be with all the wooden floors and furniture! I know it's not that style but it was unique.

Top notch, creative, chef-driven menu...very nicely presented. Great taste profiles. The bar is first-rate. Lots of whiskeys/ryes/bourbons to choose from. And...we had very helpful, fun, knowledgeable server (George). He added to the ambiance perfectly! It was a bit noisy and when a loud drunk lady fell off her chair at the bar that was a form of entertainment but not of the sort Swift's Attic would like to be known for. Otherwise...recommended.

They had just changed the menu when we were there last week. Many of the favorites from the old menu are not there any more. The small plate option is not there anymore which we really enjoyed just getting lots of small plates and share. Service was really bad. We walked in 5 mins late and were told by the check in desk that we had to leave by 7:45 which was not problem as we needed to be up the street for a concert at 8. However, at 7:45 we had been waiting for food for 25 minutes and just had to pay and leave. They did take the dessert off the menu but we ended up walking in late to the concert. This has always been one of our favorites in Austin but not any more unless they go back to old way. Also the music was a bit loud and obnoxious.

4 course meal for valentines day was a big flop. spent $320 on some less than mediocre food. not very happy about it! but i'd be willing to give them another shot for their normal course menu.

Been to Swift’s a handful of times to celebrate my birthday and date nights. Was really excited to try them out for Valentine’s Day. Was pretty disappointed with price point compared to other 3/5/7 course spots in Austin. Quality of food wasn’t as good as it usually is, especially with what you were paying for portions too. Just left feeling pretty dissatisfied with the overall experience which was a bummer.

First time I have been but definitely not the last! Incredible ambiance and libations! Then went to the dining area and were seated in a cozy corner booth. The seating arrangements made it easy to enjoy their home style serving style, sharing experience. Dishes are huge and FULL after sharing pad Thai and Brussels!! Wanted dessert… maybe next time!?!

This place always delights with it's creative small plates. Like most Austin restaurants, it's a little noisy, but not as bad as some. It has a great, steam punkish vibe, and the service is good. Anytime the menu is small plates, be careful about price! You can rack it up really fast, so savor slowly and enjoy.

Came here for NYE fix menu. The salmon was plain, lamb was dry and burnt, chocolate lava cake tasted bad. And service took so long. I came here two times before, this is the worst experience and I was disappointed with the food. Not sure if I’d visit again.

Swift's Attic certainly disappointed with poor service for a pricey dinner. When one of our entrees wasn't delivered with our food, our server neither apologized nor made an attempt to fix their error in any way, other than to say the entree was delivered to another table. She finally brought the entree to us 20 minutes later with no apology and without removing it from the bill.
