I’m a stuffed pig. Finally got some Wagyu steak and it was delicious. Still haven’t eaten since dinner last night. Don’t go to hard on the Wagyu though. Too much will make you sick. That’s just fact.

Nice place. Steaks were excellent and cooked perfectly. Service was good. French Onions Soup was so hot that we could not eat it for quite a while. Came in a metal bowl that could not be touched because it was so hot. Also, lacked salt which we asked for. No salt or pepper on table. Received a tiny little bowl with not much salt in it. Very noisy. Very expensive which we knew from their website. Good place for a special occasion.

Fantastic! Celebrated a big birthday and it was a very worthy splurge. The service was impeccable and all of our food was incredible from apps to steak and sides (mashed potatoes, whipped and baked with a crunchy top, to die for) to the blueberry bread pudding, amaaaaazing! Our server Courtney was attentive and informative. The sommelier was very informative and even provided my wine pairings on a printed list. Highly recommend Stake, we will definitely go back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

No parking, no valet but perhaps this is the norm for Coronado. Nice bar and outdoor patio seating area. Service was slow but quality, although started off attentive and then was very absent once the main course was served. When dessert was served we had to go find someone to ask for spoons (and plates would've been nice but didn't happen). Very good bourbon selection. American wagyu was underwhelming. For a ribeye it was about the same as a standard (non wagyu) filet. Fries were more like steak fries and very dry. Choosing your own knife was a fun part of the experience as was the tour of the meat cuts. The regular ribeye was good but also very regular. Both steaks were perfectly cooked. All in all, nice experience but I expected much more, especially at the price point. Recommend? Sure, if looking for a new place and experience. Worth it? Eh, that's a tough one. I suspect it's a better place for earlier patio / bar happy hour and appetizers. As far as a top end chophouse, not so much.

If you are a steak lover and you are in San Diego this is a must experience. You pick Your steak table side as well as your curated Steak knife

Food was delicious. Steaks were amazing and prepared as requested. Great service ! Warm spring harvest salad was excellent. Only complaint was that the Brussels sprouts a bit too salty. Husbands birthday and they gave him the incredible chocolate cake!

Excellent experience after tasting the 5 course menu, very interesting mix of cuisines, my only complaint was the Japanese Wagyu A5 it was burnt from the outside, for a meat of this level and price is not acceptable

We wanted to celebrate my brother's birthday at a special restaurant and after reading different reviews, we decided on Stake Chophouse. What a great decision it was because not only the food was superb but the service was top notch. My husband is a connoisseur of steaks and no one has beat his favorite steakhouse until we visited Stake and that was no small feat as we travel all around the world trying different restaurants. Thank you for making our experience so wonderful and we will be back next time we are in town.

Way overated! Amuse-bouche was over salted and tough - not a good start to showcasing your food. Waygu steak was moderate at best. Could have bought a better steak from Costco and cooked it ourselves. Only thing we thought was good were the brussel sprouts

This is my favorite place to eat IF I order the A5 tasing experience ($125), it’s hands down the best steak ever. The reason I gave it 4 stars this time was because I made the mistake of ordering a regular filet mignon and it was just average tasting. The wine menu is fantastic and the potatoes are amazing.

We had the Stake Experience which is a 5 course meal. It was the BEST meal we ever had. We were only asked if we had any food allergies as the menu is a surprise. You need to be a foodie as we were served a huge seafood tower of shrimp, lobster, oysters, mussels, & raw fish. Then oxtail on the bone, steak and the best carrot cake ever. The steak was served with 3 different salts and sauces which was all fantastic. Best steak we’ve ever eaten and will be back!

For context, Tuesday night, 5:30PM reservation and and the restaurant was at half occupancy at best. Calamari appetizer was very good, lobster mac had very little lobster, old fashioned special was decent, glass of cab with ribeye tasted corked, ribeye was one of the worst I’ve had. Ordered medium rare and it came out medium and looked steamed.

The food was absolutely amazing. I even made a special request to have fresh flowers on the table and they were perfect! Service was impeccable and I would definitely dine again.

My favorite San Diego restaurant. Service is always exceptional. Love that they not only have the best selection of top beef, but they’re more than a steak house. All non- beef is equally fabulous. Have been eating here since they opened, the first restaurant I suggest when someone is looking for the best San Diego has to offer.

Best place I have been to in years, and I eat out at least 4 times a week. Amazing food and best service! Eloquent and trendy decor but no stuffy white table cloths. I usually cringe at the meet presentation but don’t at this one. Wine selection was very very impressive, 77 pages and something for everyone!!! So good, I am going back tomorrow night.

Celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We were seated on the roof top. Ambience was perfect. Service exceptional. My Filet and sides on point. Requested to share a Brandy Alexander. Bar tender obliged as this was not on the menu. It was delivered perfectly. We hope it is added to their specialty beverages. Go there!

First time going to Stake after several failed ones. The resturant did not disappoint. The food , ambiance and service were top notch. Definitely putting on my radar when in town

We were in Coronado for the weekend and decided to celebrate our anniversary at Stakes. The restaurant is lovely. The service was outstanding. It’s pricey & worthy of special occasions. My husband ordered a rib eye and loved it. I ordered the lobster/crab cioppino. I admit I’m a bit of a cioppino snob and while it was good, I wasn’t in love with it. The sauce is less brothy and more like tomato sauce …it wasn’t what I expected. The portion size is considerable with lots of lobster & crab! Kudos to the staff for outstanding service!

I highly recommend our server Adam. He was very knowledgeable. I asked him what would be their signature dish if you didn’t want steak and his reply was to try the scallop's. I have traveled all over the world and I have to say those were the most tasteful scallops I have ever encountered. The staff is amazing. The only thing I would change would be sitting near the front door was very breezy. I had to continuely ask staff to please shut the front door.
