We are a fresh breath of class and style in the Sandhills of North Carolina. Located in Southern Pines, we offer an atmosphere of relaxed elegance and sophistication, where steak is our specialty. We have an extensive wine cellar featuring 3500 bottles, 20 of which we are pouring by the glass. Please join us between 5pm and 6pm to receive $3 off all entrees and steaks.

My son-in-law ordered a ribeye but was served a sirloin. We talked to the manager who refused to correct the error and then proceeded to argue about it. We were there for a college graduation so it was quite disappointing!

Have visited Southern Prime many times but had not been in about 1 year. This was for our birthdays(wife and myself). The quality and service was just as good as it ever was Cocktails are excellent and people are so nice.

The food was prepared to our exact expectations, Van was the finest waiter I've ever dealt with and the ambience sitting in the wine room is as good as it gets. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Cocktails, salads, steaks, lobster and chocolate desserts were all delicious. But the mashed potatoes and market vegetables were very bland. The apples in the cobbler tasted like they came from a can. Service and atmosphere were excellent although we did have to wait a bit too long for our entrees and desserts.

The food was excellent as expected,our waitress was knowledgable, friendly and professional. The Kitchen was VERY slow, we arrived at 7:00, ordered at 7:15 and received our food at 8:10ish..after asked where our food was.

We had another fabulous dinner at Southern Prime Steakhouse! Ashlee was a fantastic server - helpful, efficient and sweet. Austin, the manager, stopped by to say hi and was personable and gracious. All of the other people helping were super pleasant. The food and drinks were excellent and everyone made this a memorable birthday dinner. Thanks, all! We’ll be back soon!

8 of us. Steaks extremely overcooked. Sides just ok. Allowed multiple groups of grown men to wear hats (forwards and backwards) at the dinner table of what is marketed as a fine dining experience. It is definitely not. Go to Elliot’s on Lindell or Chef Warrens. Spend your money and time on better food and ambiance.

We went to Southern prime to celebrate my Husbands and sons birthdays, And I am so glad we did! Everything about the experience, exceeded my expectations, from the decorations on the table to the delicious food to the personalized birthday dessert, everything was wonderful. We will definitely return again in the future.

I cannot put in to words how disappointed I was last night. I had made a reservation for 2 to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I called ahead on our way over to let them know I was about 5 minutes behind. We arrive and were seated at a table with birthday confetti. Shortly after being shown to our seats a young lady dropped off bread and said nothing, didn’t acknowledge us saying thank you and no water was offered. Twenty five minutes passed and not one person acknowledged our existence. For TWENTY FIVE MINUTES we had no water, drink order, hello how are you? Nothing. Not the host, server, manager, busser nobody. I watched the severs, bussers and hosts stand at the entrance and converse and the restaurant wasn’t even near capacity. We ended up leaving and it completely up ended our plans in which we had placed the reservation and had child care in place to celebrate my wife. Completely let down. Will not return. Would not advise others to risk special occasions here.

First of all, thank you for being open on Mondays. We had the best server. We were celebrating a birthday and everyone mentioned it and asked who was celebrating their birthday. The table was prepared with a spattering of birthday confetti and the dessert we ordered had a wonderful birthday presentation. We even had a photo taken by staff and later presented as part of a birthday card. All that was so attentive. Our food was top notch. I appreciated that you had glasses of Jordan Chardonnay. We ordered an aged ribeye, a large filet, and a large lobster tail, which is the best lobster around! Thank you for working hard on excellence. We noticed and appreciated it all!

We’ve eaten at Southern Prime many times and had great experiences. We had family in town for the weekend and took them there expecting a great dinner. We were so disappointed and embarrassed because we raved to them about how great it is. It took forever to get our food. Others who were seated after us were served before us. When we FINALLY got our food, the vegetables were cold. The steaks were not cooked to order. It was a really bad experience all the way around. We will not be going back.

Southern Prime is a nice restaurant, it's just not a premier steakhouse. Only 3-4 cuts of meat available, the sides are tiny, presentation is nothing special. We sat at our table at 8:30pm, got our steaks at 9:45pm. The old fashioned had an orange slice in it, not an orange peel. Add all these things up and I would just label it average. The value is there, $44 for their most expensive steak is very affordable, but I would consider it to be much closer to an Outback than it would be to a premier steakhouse.

Full disclosure. We did not stick around to eat because it was so noisy that my wife and I could barely hear each other talk. The service was atrocious. We had a reservation for dinner and arrived 45 minutes early for it. We had no problem waiting for our reservation time but when the time came, they sat us at a table that had been empty the entire time we were there. So they could have in fact seated us early. Once we were seated, we had to ask for menus. Then after 10 more minutes no one had came to our table to take our drink orders or anything. The crap service on top of the unbelievable noise level just got to us and we ended up just leaving.

Food was great. Wasn’t a huge fan of the dry aged ribeye but I wanted to try it. Our server “Nikii” was phenomenal and very attentive throughout the night. Celebrated wife’s birthday and she delivered with nice subtle touches and nothing over the top. We will def be back.

Great place to visit. We were in town for my boyfriend’s birthday! Best steak we’ve had and very reasonably priced. Service was fantastic. Only complaint was the noise level. Would definitely come back here!

Lovely upscale white linen dining room - but not at all stuffy Service was attentive throughout - The lobster bisque , French onion soup and Caesar salad were great starters The mains - surf and turf, grilled salmon and rib eye were delicious Enjoyed a nice bottle of Pinot Noir If you’re looking for an upscale ($$$$) dining experience while at Pinehurst - this is a great choice

Food was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend the brown sugar salmon (and the Brussels sprouts it came with were phenomenal!) and the chocolate torte was delicious! Atmosphere was great! Would definitely recommend and go back!!

Out entrees came out 2 min after salads, (with no room on table for them). One beer came out 2 inches short of normal level - no amends for this. Short ribs were so salty - almost impossible to eat.

Had dinner here for the first time last night for our anniversary. Food was delicious, atmosphere was wonderful and the service was exceptional! For special occasions they provide a complimentary dessert and take a photo that they print out and give to you. Was a very pleasant surprise. Can’t wait to return.

I have been in the hospitality business for 30 some years. A party of four of us went to Southern Prime for a birthday dinner. We have been to many of the local restaurants and it seems we have always found them wanting in the quality of food or service. SP was a breath of fresh air. I do not mind paying premium prices for premium food and service, I'll do it every day no problem. The steaks were done to a tee I even ordered 2 of them MR+ not M. The lobster was tender and served hot. The Risotto was just right with a wonderful flavor and the ribeye was to die for. The service was impeccable not overly mothered nor wanting. All in my party agreed whole heartily, as we eat out together often. We will be back! James Lovell

The meal was fantastic! Steak cooked to perfection. It was a birthday dinner and what a nice time, table decorated and a cake for desert. So very pleasant. The server was terrific.

Never had Easter dinner out before. This was a real treat for us, my daughter and her husband. Service was amazing as was the ambiance. Food was very good with nice sized portions. Had three lobster and one lamb dinners with great desserts too.
