Server was friendly but not attentive. Staff seemed disconnected from server….cleared plates but didn’t bring new cutlery….no water….drinks came after food.

We enjoyed our overall Mother's Day Dinner experience. Our waiter, food, and ambiance were wonderful, but the kitchen was very slow in sending out our food. We were also unhappy because they ran out of pound cake (one of two choices on a limited menu, which was a hit). They did provide banana pudding as a replacement, but it was not what we wanted, especially for $65/person (not including drinks). I will try South City Kitchen on a regular evening to see how that experience is.

We went last night for a nice Mother’s Day dinner out. We waited at the table for 30 minutes for water only after my husband had to get up and ask. They seemed short staffed which made the experience unpleasant. The food was good but I don’t think we’ll be returning anytime soon

7 of us had the Mothers Day pris fixe lunch. $45 each plus 20% gratuity. My meal (green salad and BURNED frittata) would be $26 on the regular menu. I guess that means my cup of coffee was $19?!? We did not receive the dessert. I guess they ran out of cookies??? I enjoyed the family time and our server, Aria, was helpful, but she even acknowledged my meal was charred. This was my first time at South City Kitchen and we will not return.

I took my wife and mother-in-law to SCK in Vinings for Mother’s Day. The pre-selected options they had on the menu were full of variety and delicious. For $45 a per person, we received two courses that were well worth it. The brunch cocktails were on par and reasonably priced. The ambience and staff were great also. Looking forward to visiting South City Kitchen more frequently.

We had a lovely Mother’s Day dinner on May 11. We sat outside and the weather could not have been more perfect. A slight breeze and so comfortable seating. Our server Ari was amazing and offered great suggestions. She suggested the Gouda cheese fritters and they were delicious as were the biscuits/corn muffins and really the entire meal. Great place to eat or celebrate a special occasion.

Admittedly my wife and I arrived earlier than our reservation and the other couple with whom we were dining had not yet arrived, but the restaurant was less than 5% full ... the hostess would not seat us [until the other couple arrived]. Finally, another hostess seated us at about 5-minutes prior to the reservation time. Our friends arrived just after we were seated. I get this when a restaurant is packed but at 5% full, a bad way to treat customers. I ordered the "King..." meal. The biscuit had to have been from a previous day as it was quite rock like. There was something else (mushy) on my plate and I still have no clue what it was - potato maybe? My wife and the other couple all exclaimed that their meals were terrific. Our server, Dana, was outstanding!

We have dined at the Vinings location for many years. The service is impeccable and the food is delicious. We love the chicken & waffles, fried green tomatoes and gouda fritters. Best chicken & waffles in Georgia. Alcohol mixers are good too.

We made a reservation for the outside patio. We didn't expect the weather to drop and be cold so when we arrived we asked for a table inside instead. We were then told that the outside patio isn't open tonight and the young woman said fine we can sit you inside."" She proceeded to show us all into the back into a booth, we had four of us and preferred a table with chairs, there were at least 9 tables open and ready to sit at. She then asks for us to stand in the dining room so the one table that doesn't have settings and silverware can be made up. While all of the other tables we sitting ready and empty. I said, "Why don't we just take one that's already ready so we aren't on display in the middle.of the dining room. This was met with a comment by the hostess. We decided to sit at one of the finished and ready tables and asked her to work out her rotation concern with the servers. What we didn't appreciate was the server attitude when she approached our table to wait on us. As if we were a problem, to shorten this, no other tables were sat anywhere around us the rest of the evening, and the balance of the tables stayed empty. I always liked this place, but the attitude of the server would have me give second thought to going back there.

We enjoyed a fantastic pork chop and cat fish with cucumber dill sauce. The fried okra was delicious. The service and ambience were excellent.

The food was great. But I don't think they were prepared for Easter Brunch. The check-in was a bit chaotic... even though I had a reservation, it wasn't clear that we had a table. In the end, a manager became our server. She was very kind and efficient. Our server didn't actually make an appearance until after everything appeared on our table. This was not typical of the service I usually receive. I think they just need to work on their timing.

Excellent experience. The server was top notch and the food was amazing. As the manager came over to check on things, I commented: “Kale is not supposed to taste this good”. Certainly wonderful. My only critique would be the noise level. It was quite loud, but it was very busy when we went.

The fried chicken served on bed of mashed potatoes and collard greens is absolutely amazing. The chicken is so tender and flavorful. Its pairs perfectly with the potatoes. I usually don’t prefer collard greens but these are outstanding. I don’t know what kind of magical food voodoo the chef is doing but it is working! Delicious!

As always, I enjoyed South City Kitchen. Having been coming for years, it seems as though the portions are getting smaller and the quality of food is losing it's consistency. I ordered my customary Chicken, Collard Greens and Mashed potatoes. My first issue was that the food was served warm and not hot. The portions were extremely small. Literally looked like one scoop of greens and mashed potatoes. The chicken cut was extremely small as well, was soggy and did not have it usual crunch or seasoning and unfortunately was undercooked. Perhaps it was the chef that day or maybe because it was close to closing hours. Whatever the case, I was not as satisfied as I normally am. I did left the manager know and she agreed to take 10% off of the total of my bill. However when the check came she only took $5.00 off the total ticket. I was not in the mood to go back and forth, so I just paid the tab, left my servers tip and left. Hoping for a better experience in the future.
