First visit here but won’t be our last! Enjoyed Roti with divine veggie curry sauce, crispy tofu topped with mushrooms & carrots dressed with superb scallion sauce, and yummy garlic pepper chicken. Service was excellent and helpful. Highly recommend this delicious and affordable dinner in pricey “downtown” Menlo Park.

Good Singaporean food. Very friendly service. Hokkien Mee was great, followed by Char Kway Teow. The restaurant is small, so make a reservation, otherwise you’ll be turned away if all the tables are filled up an hour after they open. The restaurant opens at 5:30pm for dinner, yet Open Table allows reservations for 5pm and 5:15pm. At around 5:15pm the restaurant was definitely still closed and all the chairs were still on top of the tables. But they opened promptly at 5:30pm.

The employees were very friendly. The response time for assistance was fast. The restaurant had an intimate setting with volume levels low enough to have a conversation without having to speak loudly. The food exceeded our expectations. We are looking forward to returning to this restaurant.

most of the food we ordered was good. all the appetizers were good. service was mediocre. waitress never came back to table to clean up after we were done and didn't follow up for dessert so when we finally flagged her she said kitchen was closed. we were done over an hour and she never came back. portions are on the small side

Had another wonderful meal. The samosa and roti prata as appetizers and the Shiok Sparerib King and the Singapore Chilli Prawn with coconut rice and sambal string beans as the main courses. Wonderful Singaporean cuisine.

Horrible service. Waiters on phones ignoring customers for 15 minutes requiring customers to get up and physically talk to them to get service. When mentioned that we had been waiting a long time, waiter laughed.

Returned to visit Shiok after being away for awhile. Menu and choices still excellent and food remains consistently good. I especially enjoyed the Siam noodles. Quite busy for a Monday evening and will certainly return soon.

If you have never had Singaporean food before, I’d give a 3 out of 5 for the food. If you have had Singaporean food or been a local in Singapore at some point, please don’t bother coming here!! The dishes were bland/tasteless. My cosmopolitan - every sip was an effort to swallow. The red wine had turned. Sea bass in banana leaf was absolutely tasteless…. I was so disappointed. Coconut rice was…. Just plain white rice. Eggplant was cooked well, but sauce needs kick. Chilli prawns were decent….. but barely any chilli in them. Sambal udang….. had no sambal. Their house salad was nothing more than a plate of shredded iceberg lettuce, nothing more. Rotti was OK, but sauce pretty tasteless. Prices were decent. We are not going back. I really don’t understand the positive reviews here.

Great food when your craving Singapore styled cuisine. Satay is excellent although only two skewers in each dish. Laksa is great and hearty on a cold night. Singaporean chilli prawns are well worth it and not too spicy. Restaurant is very relaxed and casual.

Dennis did a special off-menu preparation: Or Luak, Chai Tai Kway and Bak Chor Mee. I swear, it was almost like being back in Ghim Moh Hawker Center. Excellent food service as always!

A family-owned gem, off the beaten path of Santa Cruz Avenue. We've been patrons for over 20 years since they first opened in 2000, they have seen our kids grow up and now bring their friends. It's the first restaurant we ordered from when restaurants were only allowed to do take-out during the pandemic. It's rare you see the quality of food maintains throughout the years, but they have. You can tell they take pride in their food and establishment. The staff is efficient, accommodating, warm, and friendly. Great for quiet meals, business/work lunches, and large or small group dinners, best of all, they're kid-friendly. Delicious food with good portions and price-friendly. Parking is super easy too!

We ordered a bunch of dishes and all were bland/tasteless unfortunately. It’s been a while since I dined here but the flavors are all gone. The Laksa was weak and had mostly curry powder and not enough ‘Lemak’ as us Singaporeans would say. The peanut sauce with the satay was bland - not made with peanuts but peanut butter. Sambal Kangkong was just sautéed with some chili paste - tasteless and disappointing. The only dish that was the best in our order was the nasi goreng. Not worth the price tag.

Very bad food. Everything was drenched in Oil. Coconut Prawns - had no coconut on them and oil was dripping from them. Very tiny portions!!! We paid over 150 for 3 people and all three left hungry! Service is good and staff is attentive. There food needs to improve by miles.....

There was only two customers( 2 table of 2 each) one of us both sitting outside. No one inside But it took forever to get out order. The other table complained that there was no shrimp in their dish

Great value for lunch specials during week in otherwise pricey neighborhood. Excellent service and pleasant quiet ambiance. Beef rendang was tender and flavorful, not spicy. Friend had the poached chicken which seemed a bit dry and less tasty. Would still enjoy going back to try other lunch dishes instead. Bathrooms are located past kitchen area in back.

Our first visit My wife and I shared the samosa, chicken satay, the Singapore Prawns and King Ribs It was a busy Saturday night with two large party tables. A little too high ambient noise level but tolerable The staff could not have been more pleasant Overall, the food was average and typically overcooked We know Singapore street food very well having spent a lot of time there. This was not acceptable. Shrimp had a good flavorful sauce but tough shrimp, the ribs were bone dry and very hard to chew. The Satay was similarly dry and overcooked, Very reasonable prices but we will not be back
