Select Oyster Bar, la première entreprise en solo du chef Michael Serpa, est un bar à huîtres de quartier et un restaurant de fruits de mer au coeur de Back Bay. Select offre des fruits de mer frais et locaux avec des influences méditerranéennes dans un espace à grès brun confortable. Un bar cru soigneusement conservé, crudo créatif, et plats principaux de poisson réfléchis complètent le menu. Un programme de vin centré sur les fruits de mer propose appariements classiques ainsi que sélections hors des sentiers battus, et est au centre du programme de boissons, aux côtés de cocktails artisanaux et bières artisanales. Toutes les réservations peuvent être pour une table ou places au comptoir. Après 15 minutes suivant l'heure de réservation, nous pouvons libérer votre table. Delicious interestingly prepared halibut with an excellent beet salad. Nice Chianti to wash it all down.

Came for my mothers birthday. The food was so fresh and flavorful. We loved everything we ordered. The waitstaff was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. They only thing is they don't have desert, but that was probably for the best!

Outstanding oyster bar! The raw bar food was delicious, but the Mains and Starters were truly impressive. The most popular items at the table were the Bouillabaisse and the Clams in Chorizo broth. The atmosphere was beautiful and the drinks excellent. Pretty price place though, no glasses of wine under $14, no bottles under $70

The food was excellent! Not a bad bite! The restaurant was very loud for a business dinner. There was nothing to absorb the noise of the other tables. But that is not necessarily the restaurant’s fault with a small crowded restaurant. However, don’t accept an 8pm reservation if you want to close early. We had the reservation for weeks in advance, we were not a late walk in. We were rushed through the meal to the point that after the main course, we were immediately brought the check. There was not an opportunity to order dessert or after dinner drinks. When we left the restaurant all the chairs were on top of the tables and the entire staff was waiting by the door/bar for us to leave. We were out the door by 9:45pm. That is a fast fine dinning meal. So I would recommend but don’t make a late reservation !

Food was good as usual except Tuna Crudo was served without Crackers or Bread. Service also was good. But, restaurant was kind of empty and yet they tried to Serve so fast! Also, restaurant requires Credit card to make reservations and charges $50 person if you have to cancel within 24 Hours. And, they charge a $3% Service Charge and a $20% tip to every bill. There are Many other Seafood restaurants in Boston.

Everything was fantastic, except the bland ceviche. Service, vibe etc are awesome and the bluefin tuna crudo was the best thing I’ve had maybe all year.

AMAZING! Love-love this restaurant. Can hardly believe it has been 10+ years. This will become my absolute favorite. Went for oysters and had dinner with friends sharing loads of appetizers. Just go! Enjoy.

An unexpected service fee plus a waitress adding a 20% tip to the bill. I will never go back. Food was good although the octopus was overcooked; char was delicious

Best oysters I've had in years! The service was spot on. The food delicious. Classic oyster bar setting. I would highly recommend this spot. Next time I'm back in town I'm coming back.

As always, the food and menu were excellent, as was the service. My only complaint would be the noise level from customers and staff dragging the metal chairs on the concrete floor in the back room. Please find some chairs that are quieter to move.

Top notch hospitality at the bar with delicious cocktails, wine and food-swordfish was phenomenal-super fresh oysters perfectly shucked-always a great experience!

Some of the best seafood in Boston been going for years. The tartar and ceviche were great and absolutely love the lobster salad. That said, I get that prices have gone way up but lobster salad the has gotten so overpriced at almost $70 that we will not be back.

We loved the food!! and the service was good - we just felt so rushed. Our $200 meal lasted exactly one hour! Full transparency, the 20% gratuity is included in that amount… But we did not have alcohol! So, while the meal was one of the better meals I've had in Boston and I will definitely go back, I just would slow the pace down even if it meant dragging out the appetizers and main course to my tempo. We kept thinking perhaps the table needed to be flipped over, but on our way out, that did not feel to be the case. But if it is the case, my apologies to select oyster. Great meal! So good!

Skip this over priced "oyster bar " that in no way deserves the hype. The cheap metal cup that the bill, with forced gratuity, came in should have included a tube of lube! It would have hurt less! This place is a disgrace to the "dinning out" experience! A credit card reservation requirement to sit on rickety metal chairs in a cold damp nothing room? Ridiculous! Nowhere to put a coat or a bag to be found. An oyster/shrimp/appetizer tower for the table of 5 cost $355 (not kidding)! But at the same time we're suppose to be okay with the common, pedestrian feel of everything from the glasses and plates to the server's attire and hair slinging everywhere. We were abruptly informed after our dinner plates were quickly cleared that coffee and desert were not offered at all, ever, and we'd need to satisfy our sweet tooth elsewhere as our near $1000 bill was placed on the wobbly table including the 20% gratuity that is automatically added. No coffee and no dessert = no celebration! I was humiliated as the function coordinator! We were respectful patrons, but this experience was awful. I understand the need to turn tables, but eliminating coffee and desert from your menu to shew customers to the street a little faster is so undignified and leaves patrons feeling taken advantage of. No matter how good the food is, customers want to leave happy and satisfied with their choices and time spent. This was colossally disappointing!
