À son ouverture en juillet 2009, le Sapore Italian Cafe s'est engagé à servir les plats italiens plus frais, préparés avec des ingrédients locaux de saison. Ayant bénéficié des meilleurs professeurs - sa grand-mère Elena et sa mère Lia - son chef a appris très tôt que l'âme de la cuisine italienne était la « sapore » (la saveur). Son style reflète leur philosophie : des ingrédients simples permettant aux aliments de révéler leur propre identité. La carte du restaurant est composée de plats italiens classiques personnalisés par le chef. Vous trouverez dans chacun de ses mets la qualité et la consistance, qui seront toujours le moins que le restaurant s'engage à servir. Pour une nuit mémorable ou un verre de vin avec des amis, le Sapore sera heureux de vous recevoir. First time here and enjoyed a nice quiet evening. Our server was fantastic and friendly. Scallops were 🔥🔥. Espresso martini was also amazing. Lobster risotto tasted fantastic. We will be back.

As always, the food was amazing. The scallops were cooked perfectly, and the sea bass was great. I’d indicated that we were celebrating my wife’s birthday when I made the reservation and at no point during the evening was that acknowledged. Also, there appeared to be no full time bartender since our waiter spent a great deal of time mixing drinks. It took almost 20 minutes to get our check. I’m hoping this was an anomaly and that the bar is usually staffed. It’s a great restaurant. They just seemed to be understaffed for a busy Friday night.

The lemon chicken on risotto was delicious and the portion was very large. The chopped salad is always one of our favorites. Our water, Jimmy , makes a great cosmopolitan!

I just love this place. Lobster ravioli is to kill for. The scallops some of the best ever. Service is amazing. My favorite Italian restaurant in St. Louis.

It was our first visit and we will be back! Very authentic Italian experience with the Italian staff and music playing, excellent food from the warm bread with EVOO balsamic and parm, nice wine, our table ordered the scallops and risotto special, chicken fettuccine, shrimp appetizer and bruschetta all was fantastic! We went on a Monday night and it was not busy at all we got a table immediately.

Our table was not ready when we arrived for our reservation. We had to wait in the bar for 40 minutes. Also we requested a table near the front door because one of our party was handicapped. The table we eventually got was in the back of the restaurant far from the door.

Especiallly pleased with service and atmosphere. You can actually have a conversation without shouting! Love the soups. Also pleased that they were willing to accommodate a dietary request. Food is always well prepared and served hot. I've ordered a variety of dishes over time and never been disappointed. Definitely would frequent more often if the price point were a bit lower, but, in general, they are in line with most other fine restaurants. I consider them a favoite and definitely recommend.

Food was good. The service was slow at first, but got better as the meal went on. We were seated in a fun table on the second floor balcony. Overall, we enjoyed the meal, but we're not blown away.

I am torn about writing this review as it is our MOST favorite Italian restaurant in St Louis by a mile. The reason I am torn is if too many people learn about it we will have trouble getting in! But, so said I cannot say enough about the food. The scallops wrapped in prosciutto are divine, they are a special so not always available but try! The lobster ravioli is delicious with a sauce that makes you want to lick the plate. Jimmy is a fantastic waiter, remembering what you drink!

Our server, who was also behind the bar, was fantastic. He was patient, explained the menu and specials for the evening, and checked on us the appropriate amount of time. My friend and I were celebrating her engagement and the restaurant was the perfect place for our dinner. Food was flavorful, the right temperature, and the portions were generous. Our busser was also attentive, refilling our water regularly.

I chose Sapore for a dinner with my favorite niece. It was extremely cold, and I knew it would be cozy inside and the food would be delicious. (Usually I eat outside on the amazing patio!) Needless to say, we were not disappointed. Warm and inviting...and my salad and eggplant were yummy. Our server was both friendly and appropriately attentive.

Wonderful Chilean sea bass, minus the salty caper sauce. Lobster ravioli, three stuffed pillows, flavorful cream sauce. Caesar salad with ultra crispy lettuce and house made anchovy dressing. Very enjoyable evening!

Food is amazing. Service is exceptional. It appears there are only three front room staff, but they move at an amazing pace. Highly recommend the lobster ravioli. Drink pours are great. We love this place!

We had dinner with friends and this is the best place to go. My scallop special was superb and the veal chop was cooked perfectly. The staff is very friendly and take excellent care of you.

Three of us ordered one of the specials. It was a seafood special that had a bed of risotto. Maybe the best dish I have ever had. The scallops were quite large and yet were as tender as soft butter and sauce complimented the scallops & risotto perfectly. Cudos to the chef!!

$24 for red sauce and pasta, that lacked flavor. Not at all worth it. Very noisy. Our waiter was very good and pretty attentive. Not sure we care to return. I don’t like giving a negative review, but this was very disappointing.

It was the first time there for 2 of us. We all enjoyed our food and the service was good. It was a little loud when we first got there as we were seated near a table of 6 or 8 women, but they quieted down soon after.

We had a excellent experience at Sapore Italian Cafe on Tuesday, November 21st. Our Server was Nori and he described the various special items that were on the Menu that evening. We have been there before and always had very excellent food and great service. We recommend Sapore Italian Cafe.
