Steaks are top notch! Cocktails are hit or miss. Do not order espresso here. I love the service at this steakhouse and there's no denying that they prepare fantastic steaks. My issue during my most recent experience here was that when the server asked if we wanted a cappuccino with our dessert, I asked if they had a real espresso machine to prepare it. She quickly replied Yes. I actually felt embarrased afterward thinking, What a silly question. Of course a place like this has an actual espresso machine. We were served Nespresso capsules. Before I took a sip, it was obvious that what we had been served in a clear glass did not contain real espresso. The color, the smell and the taste was that of instant capsules. I glanced toward the bar, and there it was... the machine in question. Had the server simply said, "We use Nespresso for our cappuccinos," I would have passed on the two $6 drinks. I would also like to add that my daiquiri contained ice. Plenty of it in a tall glass. The description on the cocktail menu was that of a classic daiquiri which does not contain ice and is served in a stemmed glass. The diluted limeade I received was not it. In a nutshell, I felt misled and overcharged.

Julio Quesada was an amazing waiter. Extremely attentive and recommended the perfect wine to go with our charcuterie board. He never let my water glass go past halfway! Excellent service and excellent food!

Food was outstanding from the Angels on Horseback, to the lobster bisque, wedge salad and Oscar filets. The only issue was the wait times between ordering our drinks to receiving the bread to getting the salad. There was long times between checking to see if we needed more drinks. The waiter was very pleasant but seemed over extended. We will return because the food was outstanding.

The food was amazing as always, but there was a lot of people and they sat us in a room behind the bar by the bathrooms. The chairs were literally patio folding chairs, so I think if I am going to pay a 50+ meal the least I expect is a dining chair, we waited for at least 15 minutes for the waitress to bring us our drinks!

The atmosphere was very elegant an appropriate for the type of restaurant. Drinks and food was great! Our Server was attentive but forgetful. We received our soups with our main course, we asked for refills on drinks we had to remind him again among other things he forgot. Will definitely go back. Love the place.

I have been to Santa Fe many times but this was one of the best for a fantastic meal in a quiet setting. We were there at 6:30 and were seated in the annex next to the bar. We finished our meal before the bar live music started so this was great for a relaxing, tranquil meal.

Day after St. Valentine's Day, so I understand the extra activities going on. Still, it was a great expertise overall. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. I love a well made rib eye and Santa Fe doesn't disappoint. Always one of our favorite special occasion spots.

Overall my fiancé & I enjoyed our night. Our service, given the circumstances, was good-ish. Our server was Maurice, great guy and did great with the hand he was dealt that night. I may be wrong, but it seemed like maybe a server or 2 in our area may have called out or ncns. Regardless, Maurice at one point had 7 tables, one being a big top of about 10. I guess we just expected more team work. Other then Maurice, we really didn’t have anyone check on us or refills, food delivery, etc. I understand that’s primarily the waiters job, however it was obvious Maurice could have used some help. Good food, good atmosphere & givin my man Maurice props for how well he did

Excellent once again!!! Santa Fe is a long time favorite of ours, you can’t be in business for 35+ years without doing a lot of things right, consistently wonderful dining experience in McAllen. I highly recommend Santa Fe for an upscale outstanding meal!!! Never disappoints :)

Whenever I am in McAllen I always make sure to have dinner at Santa Fe. The menu is creative and the food is all delicious from their apps to desserts! The service is always on point and friendly! I can't wait to come back!

Restaurant had no heat which is understandable in Texas but still troubling on a cold evening. Food was good but our experience in using a gift card was terrible. Upon our arrival, I immediately asked that our two gift cards worth $225 be verified for the shown values. The waiter arrived to take our order before any verification of the gift cards. Secondly, when we finished our meal, we paid the approximate $120 bill with gift cards worth $225. A new gift card worth $5 was returned to us. We should have received a new gift card worth $125. It was pure luck that I examined the new gift card before we left the building. I pointed out the error to the waitress, and she brought the error to the attention of management. The error was ultimately corrected.

The steak was great, 10/10 best steak I've ever had with no close second. Everything else was okay, from the appetizers to the salad, nothing really stood out. By the time the steak came around, I was scared because of how mid everything else was, but I was not disappointed, the steak was phenomenal. The service was fantastic too, I felt like I never had to ask or wave anyone down, our waitress was vigilant and attentive, and friendly. The atmosphere was nice and calm with great music playing in the background, excellent place for a date night or meeting up with friends.

We had a pleasant evening at Santa Fe Steak House but the piano music was a bit too loud. It was difficult to have a conversation with the friends we were having dinner with.
