Me and my family went here on Sunday to celebrate Mother's day. I booked a reservation for noon. I did not know they were having a Mother's Day brunch. After getting seated with my family we began to eat and have a good time. There was also a live band playing as well which was nice. This was my first time being back at Sambucas in a long time. After finishing our meals I asked for the check. I was very shocked to say the least to see how much our total bill was. The brunch was $55/person which was not disclosed at all on the menu. I also looked online at the Sambuca website and there were no indications as to how much the brunch cost per person. There was only an option to make reservations. I did look at other places before booking the reservation with Sambuca via the Open Table app. Every other restaurant I looked at clearly stated what the price per person would be for Mother's Day. I then asked the waiter to talk to the manager. Upon talking to the waiter I asked him why the price of the brunch per person was not on the menu or displayed somewhere in the restaurant. He told me there were signs posted but could not tell me where. This was very frustrating for me for sure. The manager came to talk to me and I expressed my complaints to him. He then asks me how much did I expect to pay for the Mother's day brunch for me, my Wife and my Son. I felt that he came across as not caring and as if I was wasting his time. Even after expressing to him that the prices were nowhere to be found on the menu or the website. I also checked Open Table and the price of the Mother's Day brunch was not there either. On top of that which really upset me they added $33 and some change tip onto the total bill. I noticed this after receiving the check. I felt that this was very shady and sneaky. There was no communication from the wait staff or management of an automatic gratuity. I will never visit Sambuca ever again after my experience.

I was very disappointed in the mother's day brunch. The food quality was poor; not work $55/person. Our server was not knowledgeable or truthful about availability of options. The live music was limited. Mostly recorded music. We expected more from a jazz brunch. However, the hostesses, bartenders, and Buffett staff were friendly and obliged to assist. Overall, a waste of a mother's day brunch. I hope to give it an chance on a normal, no buffet day. If it's better, I'll update the review.

We ate here prior to an opera performance. It was early, 5:30 so we were seated quickly. Our server was super friendly and attentive. The menu was OK, but we thought a little on the higher side. A lot of restaurants have a sandwich option, but not here. That said I had linguine served with 3 small kobe beef meatballs. They were just ok, not much flavor. The pasta was cooked correctly and sauce was just ok. My wife had a salad with shrimp scampi and she thought that was delicious. The best thing I can say about this experience was the wait staff. With so many other choices, I don't think we will be going back.

As per Open Table reservation times for this restaurant, we picked 10:45 PM since we had gone to theater. We arrived at 10:55 PM, within the 15 minutes of reservation requirement. Were told that kitchen was closing in 5 minutes, at 11 PM and would not find another restaurant serving food at that time. Luckily, we decided to leave and found a restaurant next-door, Mamajuana Cafe, with great food and DJ music. A restaurant should not include a reservation time-slot if their kitchen closes within 15 minutes.

My wife’s filet steak was great My pork chop was not seasoned with salt and was very bland. The Mac and cheese was taste less. The table for two was situated in a high traffic walkway leading to the restroom. With a reservation made in advance the seating should have been better.

We had a good meal, all three of us enjoyed what we ordered. There was some confusion on the reservation, the host wasn't able to find it so I wasn't sure they marked us as having kept the reservation.
