Le Saffron sert un mélange éclectique de mets indiens traditionnels agrémentés de saveurs himalayennes. A tandoor is a traditional clay oven. It utilizes a combination of radiant heat, hot air cooking and smoking. Excellent Nepalese and Indian fare. Out of 4 appetizers, our favorite was the okra (kurkuri bhindi). Runner-up was the Gobi Manchurian. Lamb biriyani and the mixed grill were also delicious.

We returned to Saffron after a long time away and found the food just as consistently wonderful and the service attentive and friendly. The samosa appetizers were generous and tasty. My husband really liked his tandoori salmon, also a very generous portion, and I loved the baingan bharta, a dish that I have not been able to find at other local Indian restaurants. All was very filling, but very satisfying! We had a lovely evening.

Excellent service and authentic food. The garlic naan is a must try. We tried chicken tikka masala and goat curry. Both dishes were well done and very tasty.

The food was a bit disappointing and did not live up to the previously reviews. My lamb dish taste like vinegar and without flavor. Their new wine list is completely off and to charge a $15 cokerage fee is way too much. I do not recommend this place for Indian food in Austin.

This is our favorite Indian restaurant in Austin. The chana masala is the best we've ever had. Lots of vegetarian & vegan options. Great service. Reasonably priced. Can't ask for more!

This is one of our favorite restaurants. Reasonable prices and we've eaten a good chunk of the menu. The lamb dishes are a standout. All delicious, and whatever they do with their Brussels sprouts is tremendous. Highly recommend.

The goat curry was great as were the lamb potstickers. My wife didn’t appreciate her vegetarian dish so much. The waiter insisted I get medium spice which was not Spicy to me. The wine list was limited but prices were very reasonable. All in all pretty good, definitely good value for the money.

This was our first time there. The decor is very casual, but the food was why we were there anyways. From the samosas to the gulab jamun, the food was outstanding. I had the lamb chops done tandoori style, which as unique and worth a try - obviously more of a baked taste than grilled but probably Nepalese style. The cheese and Rosemary naan was fantastic. Not to missed is the masala iced tea - like everything else there - very subtle taste. Nothing we had was spicey, which we were thrilled with. The staff was very pleasant.

Prawns were stinking! We were told its frozen as you don’t get them fresh in Austin! We were billed for yogurt which we returned as it was not ordered. We reached at 8.25pm and were informed it’s the last order. Staff was packing off for the night while we were seated. Food had excessive masala or spices and cream making it extremely heavy on the stomach and difficult to digest.

Visited Austin for my sons graduation. The restaurant was very accommodating with our reservations since we were running a bit late due to traffic. Food was incredibly delicious and service was fantastic. Definitely recommend and we will be back!

We greatly enjoyed Saffron in all aspects. The food was fabulous and authentic. The service was attentive and engaging and the noise level was low but we still could enjoy the musics. Everything was priced very reasonably. Best ethnic restaurant in Austin!

The food was wonderful fantastic paneer tikka masala and tandoori salmon! Wish we could eat here every day. Water very promptly refilled all evening and they were opened on Christmas Eve. Great spot, will be back for sure.

Service was great, menu options plentiful but not overwhelming, food was delicious. Also, they still allow BYOB for a $15 corking fee. I wish more restaurants did this, rather than charging $40 for a bottle you can get at HEB for $11. We will certainly return as it was a lovely experience.

My wife enjoyed the Lamb Pasanda and I had the Saffron Goat Curry which was also very good. I also ordered Kadai Vegetables because I am trying to follow a low carb diet and the vegetables appeared to be the only low carb choice on the menu. Both my dishes were tasty but there were potatoes included which are not low carb. I would not recommend this place to people on low carb diet as there were essentially no dishes that I would consider low carb. For patrons with no diet restrictions then I would rate this place as a very excellent choice for dinner as the choices are very good and the price is very reasonable. I myself will not return because of the lack of low carb choices.

Flavorful, well prepared and nicely presented meal options. Service was attentive and friendly. Our dining experience was uncomplicated and we had a very nice experience which met our expectations. Modest decor. We will keep on our list of dining options when we are in Austin again.
