Our previous visit was a tad disappointing with regards to the rib-eye, although everything was fine. Last night, their rib-eye was out of this world. Tender, juicy, and the flavor; mmmm my mouth is watering right now. Pamela was fantastic. She was so friendly, pleasant, and attentive. It is a definite return down the road.

The service by Ron and Megan was impeccable. They were friendly and professional and very attentive to our table. A few steaks came out more done than ordered but the handled it well and the food quality was as amazing as usual. Our service definitely contributed the most to this 5 star review

The food and drinks were excellent. The views of the bay were relaxing and made for a good backdrop . Our waiter was friendly, and professional, however the service was less efficient that I'm accustomed to from Ruth Chris.

I’ve been going to Ruth Chris for a long time, but it is recently gone downhill. Our waiter was not very friendly. My steak was not cooked right neither was my husband’s. Usually the waiter is extremely nice, but this one was not friendly at all will not be going anytime soon

We went to ruth because we had a gift certificate. We had gone to the roots in Del Mar and they completely messed up our order. It was busy so I wasn’t upset at all, but they were kind enough to give us a gift certificate so we decided we would go to the one in San Diego, and they completely messed up the food again my boyfriend ordered and medium rare and it was medium. I ordered a medium steak in mine was well done. They were very kind. They took the steaks off the tab, but I mostly want to say that our server, Mary was literally the sweetest thing she was so kind she reminded me of a little pixie. She had a glitter headband. She had glitter eyeshadow. She had the most amazing personality so I just wanted to give a shout out to Mary, the server at ruth Chris in San Diego you all are lucky enough to have her as your server. She’s great our food not so much but Mary was great.❤️❤️

I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Ruth’s Chris. The waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. The food and drink were amazing!!!!! I had a steak which was cooked to perfection with an exquisitely tender lobster tail and a Lemon drop cocktail. The food was sizzling hot and the drink was as delicious as I imagined a lemon drop tastes. My only complaint is I wish there were bigger portions.

We have dined at Ruth Chris many times but the last two visits were poor at best. For this visit we were celebrating my son’s 18th birthday and what should have been a very nice evening was ruined by extremely poor service and mediocre food. Six of the steaks were not properly cooked and had to be sent back, several of the sides were cold and flavorless. We had to ask the front desk to send our server over multiple times to refill and order more drinks, come take our order and bring our cake out because our server was nowhere to be found. All the tables around us were served and gone while we were left sitting mostly unattended for three and half hours. We were Beyond disappointed that the special evening was ruined. No manager ever came by the table nor did we see one at the front desk. Our long meal due to poor service resulted in higher valet costs to our guests as the valet cost is for three hours and additional time is charged hourly. I am not normally one to complain or write a negative review, but I made an exception this time to warn anyone considering hosting a large or special event at this restaurant that they may want to reconsider or establish expectations with a manager ahead of time. That shouldn’t have to happen at a higher end restaurant, but sadly O believe is the case here after our experience.

The tomahawk ribeye we had was really really good. Pamela, our waitress and Justice her helper were very attentive. I especially liked that all the details were thought of. For instance, the butter served with the bread was soft and spreadable. I know it’s just a detail, but that sort of thing made our meal excellent.The Caesar salad, the asparagus, the baked potato and especially the steak were spectacular.

Mary was our server and she was outstanding. The food was flawless—petite filet, ribeye, lobster, asparagus, mash, salads & desserts—the only thing I’d change is opting for the crab stuffed mushrooms over the goat cheese and artichoke dip. Have never had a bad experience at this location. Our family of seven enjoyed the experience, no downside.

We are huge Ruth’s Chris lovers, but wow the San Diego location didn’t resemble any of the other Ruth’s we’ve been to across the country. Old and dingy inside and though across from the water you certainly didn’t feel like you were in a high end steak house. Our sea bass was cold, so it had obviously been sitting for a while in the kitchen and our steaks were cooked at all different temps than what was ordered. The medium well was completely black and barely edible. Sides were fantastic and credit the mgr for taking off 2 of our meals, but wow beware this is NOT your usual Ruth’s.

I ordered the New York strip with bone in recommended by the waiter, however I found the steak to be tough. Good tasting but tough. All the other items that are group ordered were fantastic but I was disappointed with the meat quality.

We celebrate our anniversary every year . We had a great dinner and drinks as always. Our waitress Andrea was very nice, friendly and made us feel very welcomed on our special day. The restaurant is always clean and the view is awesome. It’s a very nice place to dine or celebrate a special occasion. We love ❤️ Ruth Chris steakhouse . :)
