    We are long time customers of Ruth’s Chris Steak house in Metairie. It has been our go to steak joint for over 3 decades. I know what I want before I get there and don’t need to look at the menu other than to choose a cocktail or drink before the meal. I ordered the Dirty Goose martini which arrived only moderately cold instead of the icy drink that I was anticipating. For reasons that I don’t understand the food quality has changed dramatically over the last year. The bread is different and NOT good. What happened to the NOLA French bread?? Even the butter is different! The Ruths Chris Chop salad that has been a huge favorite tasted different and was presented oddly. My steak arrived without the usual sizzling butter and was overcooked as were the shrimp. I missed the manager who had been there for years and who always took care of everything. I missed the young lady who is a knowledgeable sommelier and usually stopped by to offer advice on wine. Whatever it is that you are doing please make it right again

    Great experience. Lobster bisque was not my favorite, but it’s the blueberry cheesecake that keeps us coming back. Steaks were cooked properly and served hot. Wish they’d bring the French onion soup back.

    My wife and I dine 4 times a year for the last serveral years ( wedding anniversary, mother’s day , wife’s birthday and anniversary of the day we met. The last 2 times were a not so pleasant experience. Not only have the portion gone down in size the prices went up. Thinking this was a one off this past mother’s day I reserved early. The wait was not long was we’re seated within 5 mins (not bad). But the seating was unfavorable. We were in the pathway of the kitchen door so when servers passed there was a constant bumping of my chair and food going over my head SIZZLING! The server was ok but very busy and not that attentive (I will admit it was mother’s day but I think they should have been more prepared!) My wife enjoyed her t bone steak and it looked very apptizing. But my steak (same as her’s but looked half the size) was a disappointment! Also my Cesar salad was disappointing compared to hers. The portions were very comparable I mean we were sitting at the same table and they didn’t think this was noticeable? Back to the steak, the plates were very badly charred arriving to the table. I’ve never experienced this before. All of our dining at Ruth Chris have been at this same location in Metairie La. Very disappointing experience especially for the occasion and the price paid. I did still tip around 15% even though I don’t think it was deserved! Maybe it’s time to find a new celebratory place for my wife and l!

    30-40 minute wait for 4:30 reservation. Almost spoiled entire Mother ‘ s day outing.

    We had confirmed reservations for 3 for Mother's Day , 5/12/24. Reservations were made 5/10/24, but upon arriving we were told there would be a 30-45 minute wait. We found a table @ the bar, and the waiter arrived 15 minutes later advising the prep time is twice as long as usual & the menu is limited; that we should try salads & appetizers instead of a meal -and even then, the wait would be substantial. My party consisted of me, my wife and our daughter -who is diabetic and she had to eat. We could not accept an open-ended delay. The restaurant was terribly overbooked and understaffed. We had to leave and find another restaurant. We have been going to Chris back when Ruth Fertel first opened the place and we never had such a disappointing experience...
