What a great find! In town for a work event and this was the perfect place to have lunch with some contacts. We sat riverside and the view, food, service was perfect. Would definitely recommend & plan to return in future!

Went for Mother’s Day and they never had on their website that we couldn’t order from regular menu. It was 140$ for two people to eat their buffet which was the only option. Was expecting based off their website that the regular menu would be available but was never mentioned anywhere on website or reservation that it would be unavailable to do so.

The branzino was very good. The pork belly appetizer was also very good. This place is pricey though, your bill might surprise you. Overall, good service, good food, and great views! I would return.

Service was good. Friendly and timely. Food was only OK. Chicken bland, potatoes bland, shrooms good. Way too much chicken for one human - got half size and still overwhelming. Any number of places you can get right size, just as good for half the price. Outside tables on the river are very nice, if you can get one - inside patrons pay for a view they don't have. Our second visit is our last.

Despite the ok service, our waitress never returns after taking our order. We made multiple requests for coffee refills for three people, but they were not fulfilled. Bruch menu doesn't have very good options. It is not worth it.

We have always had a great experience dining at River Roast. Unfortunately, our experience last night was awful. Our server arrived at our table with an unpleasant and challenging attitude. He fought us tooth and nail for everything we requested. The manager stepped in and was lovely but it was still a tainted experience and a less than pleasant evening.

We had a great brunch on a Saturday, the location is unbeatable on the river, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic! Our server Jorge did an amazing job with suggestions and service! We will definitely come back again.

Service was very slow. Table of 2 , we ordered salad and chicken sandwich and after an hour and 15 minutes I had to chase waiter down to get check so I could get back to work.

Food was yummy! Service was amazing. Went for a birthday dinner and they gave us a really good dessert on the house - service was awesome(: Would recommend to anyone who's walking along the river walk - it's Right There.

Wonderful service and experience from the moment we arrived. We had an early dinner on a Wednesday at 5pm, so we got to take advantage of happy hour from 4 to 6 PM. We started off with the spinach and artichoke dip, which was so creamy and filling. I love that they provided fresh toasted bread for appetizer. For our mains, we ordered the grilled branzino, mac & cheese sans bread crumbs, and broccolini. Be mindful that this is a large format restaurant so all mains and sides are intended for sharing. The broccolini is a new item and was a bit on the spicy side due to the sweet chili garlic sauce, but I loved it! The branzino was prepared perfectly with the skin nice and crisp - absolutely delightful! I loved the salsa verde paired with this. We did not order dessert because we were so full from the app and entree - and even had some to take home! Can’t wait to bring folks back here!

Chicken n waffles was so good i recommend getting that and there potatoes was good as well was skeptical with cheese being in the waffle but it works I can’t wait to go back

With open tables by the window we get sat next to a huge pillar. The service was slow, the food was meh, and for that price, we shouldn’t gone elsewhere. Unless you can be sat outside, I’d pass.

Delicious food in comfortable setting! I had the 1/2 roast chicken, my wife had the 8oz roast beef and we shared carrots and broccolini…huge portions! Will come back!

We sat outside, it was a gorgeous night. The food is amazing. The service was very, very slow. I don’t mean the food preparation (that is as well, but that’s expected). I just mean simply ordering and maintaining our table. Thankfully, we still were able to get to our next event in time. Overall, would definitely go back here again, but will just be prepared for a very slow night.

A few of us went here for dinner while at a conference. The reviews looked great and they did not require reservations so a great bonus! Our server Juanfernando was wonderful and engaging! He helped make our experience top notch. While each of us ordered different varieties of food, each of us walked away very happy.

bit overpriced. check the spice levels of the sides and entrees. Food was overall too oily and salty. The grilled octopus was yummy , but the sauce is very spicy. The cucumber salad is nice chilling set off to the heat. The pork chop was moist and very tasteful, as were the handcut fies. The squash tart has nice flavor, but overall is not standing out as a dish / appetizer.

I have been meaning to try River Roast for a while, but the food was just not there. Everything was too salty and not flavorful. Friendly staff and good drinks, but lackluster food, unfortunately.

The whole roasted chicken is AMAZING! Side of broccolini was good but surprisingly spicy! Always great, attentive service. The view of the Chicago River and the rustic comfortable decor makes it one of our favorite restaurants in Chicago. Wish I lived here because I would make it a regular rotation.

We love River Roast. Their food is awesome, especially the roast chicken. The restaurant has a great vibe. One night we had dinner there, there was really nice live music. Another night I went with a group of girlfriends and it was just right for having a fun night with friends. The noise level at this restaurant is awesome. Just enough chatting to make it feel lively, but not so loud that you can't hear the people at your own table. I give it all five stars across the board!
