Loved the food but the server with her huge creepy smile and over doing it smile was terrifying, it was like the joker was our server.

Local landmark in Portland with an excellent reputation for food and service. Our steaks were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Sides were excellent with addition of special request garlic included with sautéed spinach. Servers were attentive and professional. An excellent wine list. The grilled octopus as an appetizer was amazing. Highly recommend The Ringside as a special occasion, upscale dining experience.

As usual, the food was exceptional and the service was even better. We had a family celebration and it was the perfect place to celebrate. This is not a place to go when on a tight budget. But if you want excellence, it is worth it.

We had never eaten at this classic Portland restaurant, but decided to try it for our wedding anniversary. It's full of old-school charm - excellent, attentive service, great food and cocktails, and free valet parking. We were surprised by how busy it was on a week night, especially since it's one of Portland's older places - a testament to the fact that a good martini, a juicy steak and fantastic onion rings never go out of style!

I love The Ringside. A Portland institution. Steak was perfect, wedge was delicious as were the mushrooms and the baked potatoes! Eating in the bar is one of my favorite places.

Everything was perfect. The attention to detail especially, emphasized with the timing of our appetizers and entrees to our drinks whenever we needed refills, was planned and well executed. Danny was a fantastic server who made my birthday really special, but the other servers that attended to us outside on the patio were equally friendly and attentive as well. The food was great. Would recommend and come back 10/10. Thanks for a great evening!

As always, The Ringside was top notch in every way. The food was fantastic; the wines were unbeatable, the ambience was exactly what we like, and the service was impeccable. This is our favorite spot in Portland, hands down.

Our waitress was excellent with one exception: It was my son's birthday, and I'm 99 percent sure she said he'd get a free dessert. When we got the bill, we got a $13 charge for the dessert. That wasn't cool.

We had a wonderful time at Ringside. It's truly a classic space with a classic American Steakhouse menu that was executed perfectly. We enjoyed the ambiance and our waiter made it a special occasion for us. We would definitely go back again.

Tyler gave exceptional service. Wedge salad was incredible. My wife really enjoyed her halibut. My prime rib was good, but not medium rare as ordered. Not much pink meat. Need to serve more butter and sour cream with baked potatoes. Overall a great meal.

Classic steak place in Portland. My first choice. It seems to have veered away from the typical "heavy" steak house with conventional sides, etc. and replaced them with a mix of "lighter" and Asian inspired sides. The Asian ones have been hit and miss. The Korean carrots are really good tho. But I wished they kept the old standards as well (creamed spinach). Steaks and fish are still to die for. Haven't had the chicken in years but it was great as well back then. Service in the "old days" was top of the charts for Portland. It isn't anymore, sadly. There were two errors in our order (wrong steak and wrong soft drink). Steak was still excellent so no regrets about eating it instead.

Was top notch. We love making early reservations before the bustling begins and this experience was outstanding…from being seated to dessert - perfection. We will be back for date night again!

Food was good! Service was ok- never saw waiter, received the wrong appetizer (immediately corrected), never got my dessert (bummer since the birthday boy had to eat dessert by himself). My missing dessert was taken off the bill. The waiter was no where to be seen to alert them of my missing dessert. We only saw the waiter after food was brought to our table. My water was always full and the support staff was great (except at dessert time). For a $200+ (no drinks - only water and only 2 people) special birthday dinner - it was eh. Rethinking tradition birthday dinner location. 2023 was amazing - bummed out this year was not great. Good food - super yummy - but the service really brought it down.

As expected another great meal at the Ringside. Service was excellent and the food beyond great. The wife and I's twentieth anniversary dinner couldn't have asked for more. The Ringside never disappoints.

Ringside never disappointments! Excellent service, steaks cooked as you request, great sides. I love their Caesar dressing. We had the cheesecake for dessert, and it was salted with pecans and Cara oranges on side - so delicious.

My husband and I reserved a table at the bar but to our surprise we got the best seat in the whole restaurant, our own private corner table. The food was delicious & the service was impeccable. You could tell the entire wait team enjoyed and cared about their jobs. This was my most favorite date night yet!

We visited this place for our 10 year anniversary as out of towners and this place quickly became our new spot to go to. When we first walked in for our reservation we were greeted and seated on time and they also read my special requests on our booking, they gave us the best table by the fireplace and immediately gave us champagne on the house to celebrate. I had the Japanese wagu and it was nothing short of amazing! I’ve never tasted anything like that. Chef did amazing. Our waitress was amazing and they even gave us free dessert! We have made a vow to return asap and I can’t wait too! Highly recommend!
