Worth the trip to the Getty Center even if you just want to take a quick pass through your favorite collection; see something new; or, visit the gardens. Elegant, without being stuffy, great food (limited menu) and wonderful service.

The Tuna carpaccio for a first course with a sparkling rose and salmon as an entree were delicious and superceded my expectations. The wait staff is professional and warm and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is uplifting with sweeping views and top notch art exhibits to tour and discuss over a beautifully presented meal.

The location is the only reason to eat at the restaurant. The food is expensive and mediocre. We had a flavorless vegetable soup that seemed to substitute heavy cream for any discernible vegetable; soft shell crabs (a single crab per serving) so heavily breaded and deep fried that the flavor and texture of the crabs were undetectable and a flavorless pistachio ice cream dessert where we could not identify any pistachios either by texture or flavor at the cost of $12 for two scoops. (Because we were sharing the dessert, we asked if they could serve each of us a scoop. We were told that for them to divide the two scoops we would need to pay an additional fee of $4.) Our bill for the two soups; the two crabs, a single order of ice cream and a cup of coffee was over $160 (including tip). However, the room, service and view are quite nice.

Always love dining at the restaurant at the Getty Center. Location and view are incomparable. Selection of food is always interesting and delicious. Service is superior, top staff. Design allows for easy conversation despite a full restaurant--due to high ceiling design and no echo back. A comfortable, relaxing place to enjoy a long, leisurely lunch with a good friend. All as good as the art nearby.

This place is such a nice splurge. The service, food, and beautiful views are all well worth the price, which isn’t even that extravagant for what you get. Treat yourself a little. The menu changes often, but we had tuna carpaccio with yuzu sauce that was exquisite, and our mains were soft shell crab and a vegetarian harvest bowl. The wines are also excellent and not too pricey. Just remember to book ahead to avoid disappointment.

There were 2 of us. One had a double portion of the starter scallops. They were excellent but a bit expensive. The other had roasted chicken with vegetables. The chicken was over cooked and dried out. It appears to have been previously cooked and then rewarmed. Overdone.

Overpriced for what they offered. Very disappointed in the desserts as it was a birthday celebration and most of the desserts were alcohol related. Since we don’t drink that wasn’t an option for us.

This is my 4th time dining at the Getty restaurant. I've never been let down! We had friends in town from England and they also loved it! The food is very good and creative, the wine list was not extensive but nice, and I love the atmoshere.

Every dish and every drink was delicious and special, as always. Beautiful view from the sunny patio. Service is friendly and attentive but definitely not meant to be speedy. Enjoy when you can relax a bit and don’t need to be in a big hurry. It’s a wonderful spot.

Our first time visiting and what better time than to spend Easter Sunday with our son and his family. We loved everything, from the tram ride up to the restaurant, to the beautiful restaurant itself, the delicious food and drinks, and the impeccable service. Highly recommend!

The Restaurant wasn't busy on the rainy night so we could talk and hear. Though cloudy, the view at sunset remained lovely. Our service was excellent. The soup, radicchio salad, and scallops were great. The soft shell crab was ok.

The Getty is an incredible place, and this restaurant is part of the reason. We had lunch here during our Getty visit and wow what an experience! The menu has something for everyone. Our party had the cheese board appetizer, the Cobb salad, and the soft shell crab, paired with an excellent Pinot Gris. The food and service were literally perfect. Oh, the views. You will not soon forget the amazing 360 degree views of greater LA. The place is all windows, so you can enjoy the view even sitting inside. Note: Reservations are highly recommended, especially in high traffic times.

The menu selections are limited. The ambience is great, and we love this restaurant location. However, the food is only so so. For example, the French toast is served using baguette bread, and it is somewhat hard and crusty. For the children’s menu, they have macaroni with cheese or macaroni with Parmesan and butter. Possibly adding marinara sauce could be a possibility to enhance the two item children’s menu. However, the location is amazing. The Getty center is gorgeous. Great views of the city which are free. You only have to pay for the parking. They increase the price to $25. However, if you have the time you can also go to the Getty Villa in Malibu and park for free on the same day.

The Cobb salad was different but delicious. Table for two is 6 feet long. Seems like my wife was a mile away. Good service and good food however and very nice views.

exquisite, casual yet high end, perfect in presentation, flavor with magnificent view of the hills. The octopus, scallops, risotto, bread service and coconut sorbet laced with fresh mango were each created with extreme culinary excellence. Of course the Migration Pinot Noir was the crowning touch to a magical lunch

The Hostess was fantastic at the front reception. The service was horrible. The woman who was our waitress that day was not very hospitable. Rarely checked on us and when it was time for us to ask for our check she was nowhere to be found. We had to ask the person who was helping her to ring us out. They were not even that busy or else I would have given more grace. I’ve seen another waiter present more to his guests than ours were. Good luck if you get the waitress.

I was charged for a bottle of wine instead of a glass, I pointed to waitress the mistake but he didn’t even really apologize. I still made my tip, but I was not happy with his service and response

The museum itself is amazing, the Restaurant is not. The food options are very limited and bland. The actual menu offerings at the Restaurant do not appear to be what's listed on the OpenTable menu page - the menu page has some interesting offerings - the actual menu, when we got to the Restaurant, did not. While it's got one of the best views in Los Angeles, the Restaurant feels like it's just "going through the motions" with boring menu choices. The food is 'good' and well prepared but the scarce and 'safe' menu choices provide no satisfaction. There's a Cafe immediately below the Restaurant - I suggest eating there for a more inspiring and fulfilling lunch choice at a lower price.
