Géré par les chefs Walter Manzke et Margarita Manzke, le restaurant Republique vous accueille en plein cœur de Los Angeles, dans un bâtiment classique construit en 1929 et habité par Charlie Chaplin. Ces locaux ont été ensuite occupés par les emblématiques boulangerie La Brea et restaurant Campanile. Le Republique est fondé sur ce passé glorieux, offrant un environnement gastronomique empreint d'histoire et de grandeur. Un bar décontracté et un bistrot se trouvent à l'avant du restaurant.     Every dish we ordered was tasy and well prepared. I must give a shout out to the Pudding Souffle which was outstanding and un expectedly delicious.

    We went because so few French restaurants are serving Burgandy escargot in Los Angeles. And they did NOT disappoint. The wine service was un matched and the food over all was amazing there was a little something from the chef that was stupendous. And in expected.

    My husband had a birthday party a few weeks ago and everything was amazing. Last night we went with some friends and the server told us how amazing the 58- half chicken dish was so we ordered it. It was not up to the quality of the rest of the food. We were very disappointed. Also, the cheese cake wasn't as delicious as the night of my birthday. It wasn't as creamy.

    Our service stated out great and quickly took a nose dive. We sat for over 40 minutes with zero service. We come here a lot and it's a special place for us but last night was ROUGH

    Everything on the menu is A+++++! Consistent quality. Service is great. As soon as we finish a dish the servers picked it up. As soon as a cup was empty the servers filled the water. Great experience. Great food.

    We were seated quickly. The food is rich, fresh and mostly very good. Seems to be well managed. What I didn't like is that they recommend you order 2 items per person when you sit down, and then they will bring it out in order. I find this encourages over ordering, as we were pretty full by the time we finished the 4th dish and had two more still on the way. I think they do this because if you ordered one at a time, you would just stop when you are full and not order unnecessary courses. Favorite dishes were the white asparagus and the roasted vegetables. Least favorite was the short rib, it was really fatty and a waste of $62. A little disappointed that we were seated in bar and not the main dining room considering we had an open table reservation. Why am I spending $300 to sit in a bar? Not a fan of adding a 4% fee for healthcare or whatever on the check. I understand this will be illegal beginning next month, so start editing your menus now and just charge what you charge (no shady charging).
