Absolutely fabulous! Adrienne really knows wine and is excellent in her wine/food pairing. Chef Jake does an excellent job in preparing great food.

We enjoyed duck. It was served as the special and was very tasty and tender - well seasoned with great flavor. The gnocchi and veggies were also delicious.

We had a fun evening at dueling pianos! Food was excellent. I had coq au vin, super tender chicken with grilled caesar salad (my fave). Hubby had osso bucco very juicy with risotto. He had the amazing corn chowder. Dessert was delicious too. We sampled the new cocktails too. A shoutout to our excellent server Kacy for fulfilling every request. Dueling pianos was amazing, lots of audience participation. We look forward to their next event!

We went for the dueling pianos. We had 2 dinners to choose from. We all picked the Beef. It was so dry and overcooked. Salad was great. I ate a few bites of the beef….but it was as so overcooked there was not any flavor at all. Bread pudding was delicious. Then we headed down for the show. It was entertaining except for one of the men could not be understood at all. Don’t know if his mic was turned up too loud or if the sound system was just messed up. We love the renaissance and have eaten there numerous times….but for $200.00 a couple I was very very disappointed. We are not people that mind paying a premium price for great food…..but the dinner tonight was not worth it.

The food was amazing! I am excited to go back and try more of the menu. The glutton free options were delicious. The staff are knowledgeable of food and are helpful with making selections and ensuring food safety. Will be dining in again soon.

When we walked in, kitchen staff was yelling profanity. We were seated immediately very close to other patrons - not spread out at all. Some patrons were getting drunk and very loud - this is not the fault of the restaurant, but was part of our experience.

A wonderful restaurant in an old school building in the tiny town of Assaria. Interesting decor on the walls, dining area overlooking an old basketball court and a stage. The service is excellent, the staff is very courteous and the food is exceptional. Absolutely visit this restaurant. Unique and absolutely worth the drive.

We had a wonderful evening on a date night. The restaurant decoration was fun and intriguing. It was some of the best food we have enjoyed. The wait staff was kind and thoughtful. We had the time to spend, but one drawback (or helpful consideration) was total time for appetizer, entrée, dessert was just over 2.5 hours. We enjoyed the pace because we had no place to be. A restaurant of that quality and caliber is a treasure in rural Kansas - and so we will most certainly be returning.

I have eaten here several times when in town but last night might be the last. It looks like there has been a change in the wait staff. The food was great but the wait staff appeared to be over taxed with tables. First I got a dirty menu. Then they were out of the wine we ordered but that took 30 minutes to find that out. The entrees were delayed so much that I had to ask about our food and the waitress didn't know where our order was. Everything was taking so long, I did not order dessert fearing how much longer it would take. When you pay a $100+/person for a meal, you expect a certain level of professionalism. Staff's dress was too causal and not consistent, service was slow and in my opinion the staff needs more training. 2 hours plus was too long for dinner. I miss Doug who use to work there.

An upscale restaurant that is truly worth it both value and the drive from Wichita. Unique location and professional staff. Food always impresses. When they have lamb, we must go! Only bad thing is the menu only changes a few times each year.

Fabulous meal of Monk fish prepared perfectly along with the eggplant/zucchini vegetables. Everything was delicious and amazing. Adrienne paired the meal with a perfect bottle of wine. This the place to dine when you’re wanting to eat something way better than meat and potatoes.

Monkfish was excellent, ribeye outstanding and lamb was tender and delicious. The lemon pound cake was very dry, couldn't eat it. Disappointed there wasn't the lavender shortbread cookies. Coffee was excellent.

We love the quiet atmosphere and decor of this restaurant. The food is always unique. The service is outstanding and we enjoy the lack of crowds when we have been there. No crazy bar scene or long lines.

We always enjoy our visits to The Renaissance Cafe. The ambiance is top-notch and the food and service are impeccable. This restaurant is a gem tucked away in a small Kansas town that is off the beaten path, but very much worth the drive. Upon entering the unassuming establishment, visitors are transported to an upscale dining experience with locally sourced, fresh ingredients as served by the finest restaurants. The menu is carefully curated featuring a selection of culinary delights that reflect global cuisine appealing to a variety of tastes. My husband ordered the lamb steak and I ordered the seafood spaghetti that included delicate crab and shrimp in a robust tomato sauce. The cocktail and wine selections are superb and just when you think you've had your fill, the dessert menu presents additional temptations not to be missed such as the Lemon Pound Cake which combined fresh tartness with a sweet finish. Lovely atmosphere, attentive service, and an all-around first-class feel. I look forward to our next visit soon.

What a treasure to find this fantastic restaurant in an old converted school house in rural Kansas! The food was unique, seasonal and inspired, and our server and the rest of the staff weee wonderful. We had a starter of burrata with a balsamic reduction, fresh peaches, and mint. Oh my! And the Caesar and soup of the day were both wonderful (the Caesar was charred!) our entree was pheasant with locally sourced mushrooms. And the dessert we chose was chocolate and was served with lavender shortbread. Enjoyed a lovely wine. All while overlooking the school gym and hundreds of old pictures!

We were very disappointed with our entree - the lamb sirloin. We have never had lamb in a restaurant that was of such poor quality - almost all bone, lots of fat, and the meat almost impossible to find - no more than two or three tiny bites per piece. The owner did take 50% off one of the dinners. The rest of the meal was fine. We felt that there was not adequate wait staff - the server tended bar, cleaned tables, and served. There were long periods of time when we were unattended. However, the server was very pleasant and capable, just stretched unfairly thin. We have eaten at the Renaissance Cafe previously and had a very different experience. So, hopefully this was an anomaly. This is a high dollar restaurant. One expects more.
