Opening in 1939, The Regency Room has remained at the heart of the Roanoke social and cultural experience. The restaurant, under the direction of Executive Chef Michael Whittaker, features French-inspired Southern cuisine and is open year-round, including holidays.     My second time dining here and the service was even better. The Maitre d' Lowell had the table I had requested ready and just the way I wanted it. He gave me a very warm welcome when I arrived and had placed on my table a folded card with a calligraphy of my name on it. My server Ben also greeted me with a smile and took my order. This time, I had a shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, a complimentary appetizer of Amuse Bouche, and a Pork Chop as my main course. And to finish, I had Banana Foster dessert prepared by my server Ben right before my eyes. What an amazing dining experience. The staff here know that the attention to detail in the little things makes the big difference. I definitely will recommend this restaurant to all who would like to have an amazing dining experience.

    Service is always excellent; Food is excellent. I Ordered the shrimp and scallops. I received two large scallops and several shrimp. I expected more scallops and shrimp. My wife ordered crab cake. It was an excellent size and well-prepared.

    This was my first time dining at the Regency Room in the Hotel Roanoke, and I was very impressed with the ambiance, the food, and the customer service. I had the Peanut Soup to start with; the Filet Mignon medium rare together with two Scallops, with Ramp Mashed potatoes, Bear Mountain Mushroom Demi Glace, and Asparagus for the main course; and the Vanilla Bean Creme Brule for the dessert. Everything was amazingly delicious, and I received excellent customer service from the host and waiter.

    The shrimp and scallops Chesapeake was too salty for my taste. My mother and daughter had the pork chops and they were difficult to cut for my mom. My husband had the filet and liked it very much. The peanut soup was delicious and so was the bananas foster.

    We took our Utah visitors there and it was even better than I remembered as a VA Tech student 50 years ago! Casey was our server and he was delightful and extremely helpful without being intrusive. Having just moved back to VA from Utah, I really appreciated the chilled oysters on the half shell and perfect coktail sauce. Ut Prosim!

    This is our fourth trip to the Regency room. We make it a point of stopping at the hotel for an overnight stay every time we travel west . Dinner was phenomenal. Brittany, our server, was very pleasant and very engaging. The maitre d has been the same maitre d over the years and he is the most delightful man. He is pleasant from the moment we walk in until the moment we leave and he treats each and every guest like they are the one and only.
