Disappointing Mother's Day dinner. Good appetizers but all items looked like they were prepared well in advance. Okay main courses, though I had a particularly tough cut of pork. Inedible desserts, all prepared so far in advance that the pastry layers weren't crisp, in fact they were tough. Some of this is due to a holiday meal, but we've had far better in similar situations in the past. Not up to Redbird standards, and not good value. After cocktails, wine, and service, well over $500 for a party of three.

I was excited to treat my mom to a special Mother's Day brunch at Redbird, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. Despite the reservation for a 2:00 brunch, many items from the menu were unavailable, including pastries, crab cakes, and steak frites. To add to the disappointment, they were even out of the white wine my mom had her heart set on. It was embarrassing to have chosen a place that couldn't deliver on such a special occasion. Overall, the lack of menu items and inability to provide basic drink options left us feeling let down. Despite the disappointments during our Mother's Day brunch at Redbird, there were some highlights to acknowledge. My dad particularly enjoyed the indoor/outdoor ambiance and his halibut dish, which was a plus. The sausage roll and burrata salad also earned points for their tastiness. However, not everything hit the mark; the gazpacho was overly salty, and the duck chilaquiles leaned towards the sweeter side, which wasn't to my liking, though it might appeal to others. Considering the overall experience and the items we ordered, the final bill of $500, including drinks, felt steep. Overall, while there were enjoyable moments, the inconsistencies and high price point left us with mixed feelings.

Mother’s Day brunch - overpriced options, small portions, food lacking in flavor, and the menu felt like we were getting nickled and dimed. A surcharge for pastries? An upcharge for steak? $75/person I would expect bread or dessert at a minimum. Walking out of a $520 brunch (seriously overpriced), I was disappointed and still hungry.

Although I made reservations prior to arriving, we were sat in a dark corner in the bar. I asked the hostess to please move us since half the restaurant was empty. After some back and forth she moved us next to the hostess stand and entry way. The reason for going here is the ambiance, not to sit in a dark bar in the morning on Mother’s Day / birthday celebration. Service was awful as we were rushed out in 35m. Food was mediocre. Overall it was a terrible and unacceptable experience - especially for the price point.

On Mother's Day, we visited this restaurant for the first time. For the occasion, they were serving a prixe fix menu for $75. For that, you had your choice of just two dishes. Although the flavors and presentation were beautiful, and the staff highly attentive, the food was overly salty and my quiche wasn't thoroughly warm throughout. The portions were also very small. As far as value, $325 (including tax, tip and 5% fee for healthcare for workers) for 3 people was quite steep. The atmosphere was wonderful and the staff very responsive.

This was my 2nd dining experience at Redbird. The food is amazing and the service as well is impeccable. Emily is the bomb! After dinner the manager, Thomas provided a tour of the beautiful grounds including the church and outdoor area. This is a must do!

Redbird is truly one of the hidden gem in DTLA. My family and circle of friends celebrated my daughter’s graduation there and we had an absolutely splendid time. From the beautiful Marie the host and her adorable cohost to the waiting staff they were all kind, warm, courteous and attentive. They sat all 10 of us in an absolute perfect spot and they attended to us beautifully. From drinks to appetizers to every brunch plates everything was superb. We all had a wonderful time and most importantly my daughter loved her post graduation celebration at this marvelous place.

Nice ambience however the waiter made us feel like he was doing us a favor by serving. Food was not very flavorful. A big disappointment honestly.

A random search on Google led to a great brunch experience. Smarter folks than us ordered only one plate of pancakes in order to enjoy the rest of the menu. I think every restaurant should serve a large carafe of French-pressed decaf coffee! Staff was great and the main dining room was awash in green plants and filtered sunlight through a translucent glass roof. Looking forward to next visit!

The food here was absolutely delicious. We had breakfast and dessert and everything was so so good. We did not like the Bloody Mary but they replaced it with a mimosa which was better. The ambiance was great. The location doesn’t have much parking. It’s either valet or find street parking and walk. Our server was not so great. That was the only thing we were not fond of. Overall we really enjoyed it and would come back.

I ordered the sea bass and it was delicious. The combination of flavors were one that I had not experienced. Great atmosphere and wait staff are very attentive.

Went to their Kentucky Derby party and it was SO much fun! A great selection of Southern themed foods, great bar selections, service, and wasn't too crowded so it was very enjoyable. Needed a little more seating, but we will definitely go again next year!

Attended the Kentucky Derby event. There were not enough tables and chairs for guests to sit. It was a sit down event with full size servings unfortunately nowhere to sit and eat. Kindly inquired about more seating, but the event staff got upset and shunned us the remainder of the event.

Redbird is always great. First of all, the physical spaces are gorgeous, as it is set in a beautiful old church facility. It is in the Little Japan area of the Arts District downtown, where buildings like this were built with stunning craftsmanship. The staff here are friendly and unpretentious. The drinks are great. The food is great. What more could one want?

The place is beautiful & the service is outstanding. The "bites" (there are only 3 items to choose from) available at Happy Hour are not very appealing - except the shrimp which at $18 for 2 shrimp is hardly a Happy Hour deal. You really should offer more items.

Excellent, tasty, well cooked food. Interesting menu with fusion cuisine and lots of choices. They cater for coeliac too and staff are well informed. Would recommend if you are in the area. The space is also pretty cool, in a relaxed glam vibe

They have a different menu every night. We chose this place because of the menu on their website (which isn’t available). Totally false advertising. Portions were TINY and nothing impressive at all.

food and service are always EXCELLENT at Redbird! Every time i go, Im reminded of what service SHOULD be at a nice restaurant. I feel service in LA has declined to put it lightly and Redbird has always focused on that and of course, constantly great, seasonal food!

I amost always learn something at Redbird. This time, it was the fact that one of the big deal producers of Burgundy in the Meursault district had been producing a French version of Limoncello using Sicilian lemons for decades, and this liqueur went terrifically well with the Meyer Lemon tart I had ordered for dessert. This is why you go to Redbird.

Great evening. The sommelier was excellent. It was an expensive evening, but totally worth it. Food was on point. Unfortunately a lot of the meals were spicy, but incredibly delicious. (Spicy is hard to handle for me, but I was able to order around it.)
