Great food, great service and very accommodating. The sushi was very fresh and all the apps were delicious. Will return, will always return. Only negative… the dining room was VERY cold.

Our server Leon was the best! So attentive and accommodating! His recommendations we superb! I wish we had one of these restaurants in San Antonio!!

It was raining. We had kids including two littles we were carrying. No help opening the door despite three staffers standing chatting at the front desk. (Overpaid, and underworked I guess) We had a reservation. The reservation was confirmed. The first words out of the hosts mouth were “we dont do tables of 5”. What? You confirmed it with me. I put BIRTHDAY, on my reservation. No mention of birthday was brought up. Why allow me to fill that out if you’re not going to do anything with the information?? Then they proceeded to sit us in the back Right Next To The Kitchen Door (curtain). Right next to another table who also had a kid in a carseat. Shoving people with littles in the back despite a reservation and so many open tables. Seriously, the restaurant was practically empty. It was loud. The music in the restaurant competed with the music from the kitchen. And it was not an enjoyable time. The food was…fine. Thank goodness they had happy hour going on, to cut down the price or the average rolls. Still overpriced for what it was. If you dont want kids in your restaurant, make it a point to not want kids in your restaurant. Dont treat us like 3rd class customers. If you’re going to ask for information on the reservation form, read it and use it. Prepare for a freaking reservation, because it’s a freaking reservation. Act like you give a darn. I’m tired of people complaining they dont get paid enough when literally doing the least possible.

Below was my original review when dining in March. After the review was posted, the management immediately reached out to me, which I appreciated. They invited us back to dine again due to our poor experience. They did show sincere concern over our experience. We returned to RA Sushi last week, and it was a much better experience overall. The food was definitely better, the service was attentive, and they even added a few extra touches to make it right. Still think it is a tad pricey for the offerings, but that is just my opinion. I just wanted to follow up to the below in fairness to the management for addressing my concerns and inviting us to dine again, so I edited my original overall review to reflect the positive experience on our second visit. First time to RA Sushi. To say it was disappointing is an understatement. We should have known there was a reason when the restaurant was not busy and reservations were available on a Saturday night in a popular location! The service was very subpar, the food was mediocre at best, and it was extremely overpriced for the experience. For this price point, the service and food should be very good. Just a few notes from the experience. The potstickers were cold. We have had hibachi many times, and this hibachi tasted as if the rice had been sitting, the portions were minimal, and the shrimp was anything but colossal as listed on the menu. Our soy sauce was completely empty. We had to ask for even wasabi with the sushi. Sad to say, but a true waste of $200!

Had to ask the waitress 2 times we needed something and then ask for the bill after awhile while having my five year old and it was 745.

Food was great like always. Server was a bit slow and unorganized. The host/ hostess did a great job. I went to the bar and got my girl a drink. Bartender was prompt and helpful. Overall still a great place.

Our server was fantastic we had two tables one full of 16 year old and the server was so patient and friendly. He kept his cool and double checked to make sure we were all happy and satisfied

Great dinner! The service was excellent. Alex was very attentive and our food came out wonderful! Was celebrating a birthday and was just in time for happy hour! Had pork gyoza for the appetizer and then the Las Vegas, Crunchy Shrimp and the Crazy Monkey rolls. Birthday girl had the Mango Margarita and everything tasted awesome. Would definitely go back!

Didn’t get a single water refill until dessert. I asked for a birthday discount of $20 but I wasn’t presented with one and that was part of the reason for deciding to eat there. In addition to that I had a $10 credit for signing up that I wasn’t able to use because it was the weekend. We were not checked on at the right times. Don’t plan on going back.

Normally I love going to RA. I ordered the same thing I always do and last night it was super spicy and not very good. The drink was okay. Then the waitress forgot to ring in one of our appetizers. It was very disappointing.

Initially, there was no service, to the point we almost left. Once our waiter engaged, he was very good. The place is dead. The entire time we were there (6:30 to 8:00). Hardly any customers. Food was good and drink prices reasonable.

Service was par, nothing spectacular. Four guests ordered entrees that comes with soup, but the server forgot. Food was good, but steak could’ve used more seasoning.

I tried the restaurant based on OpenTable review, I don't feel quite like the place for a few things. I tried several kinds of sushi, but none can be considered quality sushi, maybe the restaurant tried to modify the food to meet local eaters tastes, but it definitely failed to impress me. The table is so shaky, and cannot stay steady, it does not match the food price tag well.

The food is always delicious at RA! Normally our service is wonderful as well but this time we were disappointed that the waitress did not let us know in advance that there are no free drink refills on soft drinks. She kept offering to bring us refills then charged us $25 for sodas for 2 people!! When we saw the bill and asked her about refills she just said that was the policy. I mentioned that she should’ve mentioned that to us before she offered to bring us refills that we didn’t request. Very disappointing.

Came to celebrate a friend bday. Our server Trinity was the worst. Yes we were a large party and I understand it could of been overwhelming; however her attitudes tornarse the table was uncalled for. Food was late, some of our party never received their meal even though they had placed their order first. She had a bad attitude when asked why the food was late and chastised us because “all the tables around had also ordered food” when the check came she asked us to write down what we all had in a paper. When refused she because more upset. When manager Melissa came to our table she came with attitude towards our party.then proceeded to suggest some of our table tried to skip on their check because they stepped outside to smoke. Overall one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. As a director of catering in the hospitality industry I was ashamed to have witnessed. Such behavior from the restaurant manager. Our table should of had Teo servers assigned, not a server and a shadow who was just learning. And when the manager was called in; even if the party was wrong you never give them attitude or try to imply there are people walking out on their check.

Our group of 4 was extremely disappointed and bothered by the experience. Our first round of drinks was 3 pina coladas that tasted very ‘off’. The taste is hard to describe, not even cheap liquor, but a very artificial almost plastic taste, with no taste of rum or any liquor. The waiter said that these drinks were virgin, and if we wanted to have liquor, it would be additional $12 for shots of rum added…..even though the drinks menu said it included rum. The bartender came to our table and said he personally made them and he did add liquor… The 4th drink was a cold sake, that was good. The 2nd round of Mixed Drinks were sent back, just terrible, the second right round was worse than the first, a coco loco that had the same plastic taste as the first. These were sent back as well and no additional drinks were ordered, and we drank water going forward. Food was mediocre. Not worth the price. Worst part was that when bill came, everything was charged, including the bad drinks that were sent back, and they were sent back full. It was embarrassing to have to discuss with the waiter and manager with other people hearing about the charges for the bad drinks that were returned. Just a terrible, and regrettable evening at this restaurant.

This location did not have enough servers, refills on water and food was extremely delayed. We had to flag down our server most of the evening. We had a better experience at the Addison location.

We started with a frozen watermelon cocktail, which was delicious. Then our table ordered a salad, two rolls, some unique spicy edamame, and a barely cooked salmon side. The surprise was a free birthday dessert AND a photo of our group. A great weeknight celebration. Food came out quickly and our waitress was a dream.

We had a great experience! My friend and I sat at a bar top table and a young man with dark hair waited on us. We both have food intolerances and did such a great job making sure all our questions were answered and if he didn’t know he went and found out the answer . He did a great job at recommending items. I will be back!

Was in town for work and wanted Sushi and Ra fit the bill. Michael was my server but all of the staff from front of house, to the kitchen were all very attentive and exceeded expectations! Orders 3 rolls and all were excellent and delicious! Highly recommend if you want great service and amazing sushi rolls!

The RA RA Shrimp is the best! We went during happy hour 5-7PM Friday night. They generally have generous pours on liquor.

Its a good American styled Japanese restaurant, not a sushi restaurant as they have a full menu and full bar. Cool new manager that used to be in the auto parts space. Add an interesting dynamic. Go here for Japanese food and have a side of sushi. Ordered Toro, was not adequate quality. But, I suggest you go check it out for sure.

RA is my favorite sushi. I always order the edemane, poke tacos and a Las Vegas Roll . The service was very good, only need to learn to clear finished plates without asking. The manager was friendly and defiantly on top of her game. Always love going to RA!

the restaurant wasn’t busy at all yet most to the servers and hostesses were standing around while we have dirty plates and empty glasses on our table. we spent over 20 minutes waiting for two beers at the bar and after speaking to the manager she showed to us that she really didn’t care. once we received the beers they happened to be from a can and definitely didn’t need to take 20 minutes for us to receive them. i normally have wonderful experiences at RA but last night was definitely not the greatest.

Decided to come here yesterday for a late lunch! We Sat down at 3pm…looked at menu and asked about happy hour so the (waitress/bar tender) pointed towards the happy hour part of the menu and we ordered. After bringing us our drinks, the waitress began to explain that their happy hour is not available on Holidays! Now our drinks and food are all from the happy hour menu….what did we do you ask….You guessed it, we didn’t complain and we paid full price. Not sure why we don’t get happy hour prices for Father’s Day, but whatever! BTW this place was pretty empty for Father’s Day….should have stayed home and grilled! Sushi is okay and the drinks were subpar. We love the location in Las Vegas-or we use too prior to COVID! Boy do the restaurants these days need an overhaul on staff post COVID!
