The service was a little slow - but it was Mother's Day and they were busy although the restaurant was not totally full either - don't know if it was a problem in the kitchen or with the servers or whether there was a staff shortage. I would also say the noise level inside is kind of loud - the sound bounces around and it's a bit difficult to hear the conversation at your table. While the food was very tasty and nicely presented I thought the portions were a little small for the price. We've been long time customers of Z'Tejas since it first opened up in Austin many years ago and sorry to see the West 6th Street location go. Bring back the pecan chicken and goat cheese salad please! We still like the unique recipes and flavors of the menu so we'll give it another try - next time on the patio which looked lovely and probably not so noisy.

Used to love this place, but sadly this was a pretty big disappointment. Seared tuna was overcooked so much that the slices were stiff. Tostada bites were fair but missing some of the garnish that they have been using as of late. Brunch item was fair at best. Overall, I spent a truckload of money and walked away with a pretty poor experience. Probably the last time I ever go back.

Snapper was over cooked and chewy, after it was brought to the attention of the waiter they offered to replace it with something else. I then ordered the salmon medium with garlic butter- it was served well done (chewy) with some kind of sweet sauce on it (that I specifically told them I did not want). Fortunately, they did not charge me. Sad because I have always loved Z’Tejas in the past, but we will not be going back to this one.

Z Tejas is one of my goto spots b/c it's close to my house and has an amazing outdoor patio that is dog friendly. I love the HH specials, food, ambience and the wait staff is attentive and friendly.

While the food was really good, service was terrible. It took over an hour for our appetizer to arrive. It was clear there was a problem in the kitchen, but the server was not very good either. We were celebrating a birthday and you would think they would have comped our dessert for an incredibly long wait for our food. I doubt that Z Tejas will be around much longer, which is a real shame. I hope they get their act together.
