Zou Zou’s is a lively and modern Eastern Mediterranean restaurant from chef Juliana Latif, who spent years working at some of the most notable restaurants throughout New York City, including The NoMad. The menu is inspired by and celebrating the cuisine and flavors of the Eastern Mediterranean region, bringing in influences from Lebanon, Israel, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, among others.

Zou Zou’s is located within the Manhattan West Plaza, on the ground level of Pendry Manhattan West. If arriving at 33rd Street (between 9th & 10th), follow the walkway to the plaza, turn left, and find the Zou Zou’s entrance on your left.

If arriving at the Ninth Avenue entrance (at 32nd Street), walk through the plaza towards Whole Foods – Zou Zou’s will be on the right side of the plaza just past the NHL Experience Store.

Too noisy and tables are too close to on another. The next table kept bumping into my friend’s chair. The people at the bar were leaning on the railing towards our table

Our party of 7 had a reservation at 8:30pm on a Tuesday night and it was also noted on the reservation that this was to celebrate a special occasion. However we were actually seated at 9pm and they added a single order of the fried dumplings dish (was not told the name)- 7 in total, so merely one for each of us, with their compliments. In addition, we had ordered the Fattoush salad, which requires tapping and breaking the top crust. Our server did this so aggressively that a large piece actually fell wayside, rendering it inedible, and all of us wondered why he looked so miserable. Had it not been for the great company, this would have been an immensely disappointing experience especially given the occasion.

We were a group of 8. The food was excellent. We ordered the leg of lamb, duck and sea bass. All were good. The leg of lamb was excellent except the ratio of the sauces to lamb quantity were mismatched. And, the dips were good but the served on a platter which made it hard to see what each dip looked like. Minor details. The cocktails were very good too. Overall nice experience.

The very first time that I couldn’t wait to leave a restaurant. The food was actually okay but the service was very poor. Very crowded and noisy space. Restrooms were always fully occupied. The outdoor patio is open but it’s so cold to sit outside. Imagine how strong the wind can be near the river area and there’s no heater. When it’s raining, the umbrellas can really do nothing. Your food will be mixed with rain water. The service was not responsive and very slow. Nobody came to clean your table, pour water, or even take your order. Our order of an extra pita didn’t come at all even we asked once. It was so windy and my friend was pregnant but the stand could do nothing to arrange us a better seat. I understand that the restaurant was busy and we were willing to wait to move to indoor but nobody even followed up on our request. I know we reserved an outdoor table but nobody could predict the weather and we did have special situation. And I don’t believe a restaurant can have 0 no show and really can’t arrange an indoor table for the entire night. Anyway, we don’t think we’ll go there again. One of the worst dining experience in NYC. Eyval, ilili, anyone you can name can do better.

Lovely from beginning to end. The food and drinks are are excellent. Service is on point. We never felt rushed and had a wonderful evening.

It was nice, a little pricey and slightly over rated ambiance, but all in, still nice. We were there early and it quickly filled up and became very noisy, se did not stay for dessert.

It was easy to confirm the reservation at the front but that’s not where the problem was. I arrived here for a late lunch and was told that the only menu available was brunch. It didn’t make sense since they close at 2:30PM only to reopen at 5PM (which is dinner). That didn’t make sense but I digress. Once my party was seated… another one joined next to us and to my surprise, they had a dog with them. It’s rather odd and unhygienic that they would allow a dog into the restaurant. The food was mediocre at best and the service was okay, as they never once bothered to refill our water at the table.

Eder was very kind but everyone else was not. The server Arvind was not attentive to me AT ALL. As I sat there waiting for my party to arrive, I was not once asked if I wanted water or a beverage. In fact when one member of my party(white)did arrive that’s when Arvind offered them water selections, not me. Arvind didn’t even bother to ask me, while I’m the one footing the bill and arranged this business lunch here. I’m an African American male and felt extremely discriminated against and was not at all happy with this being my first experience here at Zou Zous. Who ever the manager is, make sure they train their staff to treat EVERYONE with respect and kindness, not who they feel like.

I had made reservations weeks ago for my friend and I to have a nice dinner. We arrived at an insanely loud restaurant. The bar was loud and it was almost impossible to hear yourself think let alone catch up with a friend. I had asked if we could sit outside and was informed they were fully booked. After waiting 10 mins at the bar, I decided to speak to the host because we simply couldn't enjoy ourselves in such a loud space. Suddenly he said they had an outside cancellation and could accomodate us. The service here is incredibly slow. It took forever to get our water, place our order, and get our food...in fact, our chicken arrived without our side dishes and eventually, they brought out the rice. The food was good, but it's odd to me there is not a gluten-free bread or cracker option offered when they claim to be very gluten-friendly. Their fried chicken was good. I don't think I'll be back.

Last night we celebrated our anniversary dinner here and it was absolutely amazing. The service was outstanding. Our server heather was great. All of the food was above and beyond our expectations as well. We had the chefs menu and we’re absolutely blown away. Can’t wait to come back.

Food was delicious and waitress very helpful. I’d ordered the sea bass in grape leaves which comes to the table and staff has to break open the leaves tableside. The guy that brought it proceeded to poke and prod at it in a careless manner with food bits flying all over. It was a very strange way to have food presented at the table and I’d preferred he’d just left it there and I’d take care of it. I’d asked him if he could take away some of the leaves that dropped onto the bench next to me and he just ignored. Waitress ended up cleaning it off the bench. Very odd!

Had a wonderful dinner with a friend here! We did the chef’s menu and enjoyed everything very much. It’s a great deal for the price. The ambiance is a 10 as well as the service. Exceptional NYC dinner experience from start to finish. Will definitely return!

We were seated promptly and our waiter came to take our drink order right away. He was attentive all evening, checking in on us regularly to make sure the food was to our liking and keeping our water glasses refilled. The restaurant was a bit loud, but the food was excellent; we all ate way too much. If I had to pick one thing for improvement it would be to request they add something chocolate to the desert menu. Otherwise all was great. Will definitely return in the future.

We ordered the dip tower, the duck, and a bottle of Sancerre to share. The food was great, ambience was not great as the tables are on top of each other. It feels like someone is sitting at your table. We actually had a person keep touching my back as there was limited room for the seating. If I come back again I will just sit at the bar. The food was very good. The service was ok.

We loved every aspect of dining at Zou Zous. The atmosphere provided a pleasant NYC buzz and the spaces were decorated impeccably. Each course was presented with a smile and was delicious/inventive/satisfying. We will definitely return!
