We felt a little rushed and we had really hoped to have a leisurely dinner. Food was very good and service was also good. No complaints, just had hoped to have more of a chance to visit with my family.

To be honest, I wasn't excited to eat here but it is what our birthday celebrant wanted. I've been to the Roseville location a few times and all of those times I didn't care for the food. I hadn't been back in years until yesterday, at the Howe Ave location. I was pleasantly surprised that I (and my guests) liked the food! I ordered ceviche and it was decent, and I couldn't get enough of the table chips, salsa and bean dip. The bean dip was great! My friends ordered red and green enchiladas, a bowl and chili relleno. For the most part, they were satisfied, one of the dishes was a little bland for one of my friend's taste. The service was wonderful! They brought a churo sundae for the birthday gal, enough to be shared, and sang her a happy birthday song. We tipped a little over 20% because we were served well. Thank you, and now I can say that I'll be back!

The enchiladas and sauce were luke warm. They re-made both orders and again both came out luke warm. They ended up comping both meals. So disappointed because the mid-town Zocalos is amazing.

We had a wonderful time for my wife's birthday. We were greeted extremely well and the hostess was very pleasant and a joy to talk with. After being seated, John appeared as our waiter and he has a tremendous personality. He was attentive and cheerful all evening. He and the bus boy, Elliot, were simply great. These people as well as every other employee at Zocalos were wonderful and extremely pleasant and joyful. They truly made our evening. Just a wonderful time eating delicious food. We certainly will return frequently.

Service and food were excellent, as always. We sat outside at first. After dinner, it became a little chilly so we went inside to the bar to finish our cocktails. It was even colder INSIDE! And the noise, of course, was much louder with all of the parties. But my sister and I enjoyed the prom and wedding people and outfits. :) I'm really nitpicking with the 4 stars. All in all, we had a 5 star time as usual.

We have been to this location many times before. I took my family for my wife’s birthday. We traveled up from Stockton, and we were a little early for our reservation which was no problem. We were seated right away. Service was excellent. Service was prompt and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to come back.

Zócalo provides a high end Mexican food experience. The Brunch menu was good offering several traditional breakfast choices. The breakfast bowl and chiliquiles were large servings. Our waitress was had a great sense of humor. Pleasant experience.

I made a reservation for four for a couples night out. Check in and the seating process was easy and quick. Our waitress came and took our drink order while we waited on the other couple to arrive. At the beginning she was friendly and welcoming, but towards the middle it seemed like she was trying to get us to leave. She was trying to remove plates when one of the people in our party were still working on their plate. Overall the drinks and food were great per usual.

Made a reservation for a group of 10 to celebrate a birthday. It was the perfect location. Zócalos has great glass art and music. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was great accommodating the kids and my vegetarian diet. Also got a awesome birthday surprise 🍨🎇.

Normally, Zocalo has reliable food and service. This was Easter Sunday Brunch at 11:30. Not too crowded. Seated promptly; nice waitress. Menu stated all dishes with eggs would be served “scrambled!” Usually one can choose. Our food arrived way too quickly. The food was cold to barely like warm. We could tell that dishes were obviously “pre-plated”, sat out not kept adequately hot, topped with meat requested and then plopped on scrambled eggs out of a warming tray! We ate some but took most to go. Please don’t pre-plate on holidays. It ruined our celebration! Next time we will not come on a holiday!!! SO disappointed!

Everything but open table needs to go away. Insults me every time I use it. Tried to correct without success. Every time I sent correct information and then they set the reservation under my daughter’s name. Advised other restaurants and they couldn’t help resolved.

The atmosphere was very nice. Ordered a carnita tostada. The carnita meat was hard and overcooked. Was given two small street taco size shells with very little pinto beans with a large portion of sour cream and salty queso cotija. Nothing else came with the "tostada". Looked like a snack instead of a meal. Overall the carnita meals were overcooked. Pinto beans and black beans had no flavor. Not worth the price. Servers were friendly. Would not recommend.

First off... Zocalos is one of my local favorites in the Sacramento and Roseville area. I really love the service and ambiance of the UV location. I made reservations and the lovely hostess got me seated quickly even though u arrived earlier than my reservation time.. such a great display of customer service! The occasion was a birthday dinner for my niece and it was her first time there and she was super impressed! Her favorite was the blackberry margarita.. of course! The staff sang happy birthday to her and she was so impressed with the great service and food, she will definitely return back to this location!

Our server Maria was awesome. The food was tasty however, when I spend $200 for dinner for 2, I would expect the food to be served fresh cooked and hot. The meals arrived room temperature which means it was sitting around before it was served, that also leads to bacteria growing in the food and would explain why we both had stomach aches later that night.

Went for their Valentine's Day special. It was hit and miss. Drinks were great and food was alright. It was very expensive. Service was slow initially, and then they forgot about our dessert meal until I asked about it when the waitress handed the check. Meatball appetizer was good but cold. My wife enjoyed her entree (Chile Relleni) but said parts of it was cold. My entree was excellent (Cochinita Pibil). The dessert (red velvet cake) was pretty bad. Atmosphere at this location is nothing to be excited about. For some reason they decided to play mostly party/dance music, instead of something that would be more romantic. As I mentioned earlier, drinks were the star of the show here. Both the initial drink and dessert cocktail that were included. We also purchased an extra cocktail with our entree. We have had great experience in the past at the Zocalo Midtown location, but we would not come back to this location. It's a fairly expensive, upscale Mexican restaurant so it's definitely a treat for us to go there. After this experience, we determined that we would not do another pre-fix meal at Zocalo in the future. I'm not sure if we will go back to any location in the near future

Our dining adventure at Zocalo began with a warm welcome, especially when they learned it was our first visit. The Restaurant Manager made a memorable first impression by presenting us with a sampler plate, a delightful preview of the culinary journey ahead. With a party of five, we were eager to dive into a variety of dishes that promised to tantalize our taste buds. The **shrimp in garlic enchilada sauce** stood out immediately; it was cooked to perfection, with the garlic enhancing the shrimp's natural flavor without overwhelming it. This dish was a unanimous favorite and set a high bar for the rest of the meal. Unfortunately, the **wet burrito** didn't quite meet our expectations. While we anticipated a blend of flavors and textures, the dominance of rice made the dish somewhat underwhelming. It felt like a missed opportunity to showcase the kitchen's capabilities. The **enchiladas** presented an interesting conundrum. Each had the same filling, differentiated only by their sauces. While the sauces added a nice variety, the uniformity of the filling left us wishing for a bit more diversity in flavor and texture across the three enchiladas. However, they were still enjoyable overall. Our experience with the **happy hour fish tacos** was more positive. They were well-prepared, with the fish being both flaky and flavorful. This dish was a reminder of Zocalo's potential to deliver satisfying and delicious meals. The **steak salad** was the most mixed bag of our visit. The out-of-season oranges and overcooked steak were disappointments. The salad could have been a vibrant mix of fresh, zesty, and savory notes, but the missteps in ingredient quality and preparation held it back. Beverage-wise, the Cadillac Margarita and Sangria were delightful. Both drinks were well-crafted, with the margarita being a particular highlight. They provided a refreshing and enjoyable complement to our meals. Overall, our visit to Zocalo was a journey of highs and lows.

Food was decent. Not as hot as it could have been even though we were sitting right by the kitchen. Service was spotty at best-- immature, and unprofessional at worst, at least compared to a previous visit and compared to our expectation for this level of dining. Example: Our server would ask a question and then walk away quickly without listening for the answer, and without giving us a chance to ask for things we wanted/needed (like more salsa, more chips, more bean dip, more water, the basics, a straw, another napkin). Then she would walk over to the table next to us, but not look over at our table where we were trying to get her attention. And then speed away. She would fill one water glass on our table, but not the other, bring one thing she remembered, and then speed away before we could quickly ask for something else she should have noticed herself. It would have been one thing if she proactively noticed these things or called them out herself, as she should have, but she did not. Lack of experience? Lack of training? Not sure. She didn't seem to have too many tables, she was just always in a hurry to leave our table. She apparently had time to stand and talk to other waiters, but not to us. I don't know why we even left a tip. If we didn't have amazing service the previous visit, we would most definitely not return.

A wonderful meal for a birthday celebration! Our hostess, Maria, was outstanding. Excellent wine choices and so happy to see vegan options are available.
