The food was fresh and delicious! When we were a little late for our reservation, the hostess cheerfully held our reservation. The food was served in a timely mannerThe noise level has been an irritant because it is hard to carry on a conversation.

We sat on the patio on a pretty ideal eve, 5/1. The food was great, though could have been hotter, our waiter Francisco was over the top the best, enjoyed the evening., thank you.

Entree was not hot temperature wise out of the kitchen. Same with the rice and beans (tested the two other plates on the table). My partner wanted to go for the ambiance though I found the food disappointing. I didn’t say much as to not spoil the evening.

Lunch this week was super delicious, EXCELLENT and friendly service, 2 hours passed and we had no idea. I love the decor in Zócalo, it’s open and pleasant and seriously that bean dip that is served with the chips and salsa is so wonderful. So good!

Our waitress was amazing, service was quick and on point every time. Great food but even better drinks! Highly suggest coming during happy hour as the portions were more than expected and all tasted amazing for a great deal. Will definitely be back again.

We did reservation, and said it’s to celebrate birthday. Then we told waiter that we’re celebrating birthday. NOTHING! Special was done to help celebrate our birthday person??? This restaurant doesn’t do anything special for birthdays???

We fined outside. Our meals were delicious and the Blackberry margaritas were perfect. Our server was so thoughtful and attentive. She made our Easter brunch perfect.

We had a very nice Easter brunch at Zocalo. The brunch selections had something for each of us and the drinks (blood orange paloma, sangria) were delicious. Full menu was also available, which is appreciated. Our server was friendly and attentive, and food service was prompt. Excellent outing at Zocalo, a restaurant we have always enjoyed.

We love Zocalos. It’s a great spot for dinner with good food and a fun atmosphere. Sadly, this time one of our friends did not get their food for quite a while, and then when it came, it was not cooked properly. But the manager took care of us and even sent us some dessert which just goes to show what a great place this is. Usually the food is spot on. Don’t forget to try the blackberry margaritas!

I booked a table for six, meeting friends. The restaurant was very nice, excellent staff who took care of all our needs while we dined. The snacks brought to our table were delicious, the food was excellent. The Bloody Mary that I ordered while waiting for our friends was in the top five of all time for me. I will definitely be back.

I love the staff at Zocalo, especially Brandon and our recent server. I wish I could remember her name, but she was just recently promoted from Hostess to Server. Her friendly and attentive service is just one more reason that we keep coming back. Brandon and the weekend morning crew have made our weekends something to look forward to. It brings us joy when the staff reminds me to order a side of bacon, because they know that I give a little bite to our dog. It is the fastest service I have ever witnessed and I have even started a timer on my phone as a joke, because many times our food arrives in less than 5 minutes after ordering. Even if it is a little wet outside, this team ensures we have a dry seat so we can bring our pet with us to breakfast. A shout out to the decoration team, I'm in awe of your elaborate decor during all the holidays throughout the year. To the Kitchen - I cannot imagine a better French toast or weekend brunch taco. You are kitchen magicians and even though I order the same thing, it's delicious every time. Brandon and this entire team make Zocalo our weekend tradition and we thank you.

Me and my wife have made Zocalo are go to place for really good Mexican food!! The cocktails are another plus at this spot and the mole enchiladas are soooo good! America (our server) was outstanding and very attentive for our afternoon date...THANK YOU AMERICA for your outstanding service! Of course, we love this place so we will be back SOON!

Our meal was delicious. Salmon Bowl, Mole Enchiladas and Churros/Ice Cream for dessert. Very fun, festive atmosphere and the service was outstanding. Will definitely return when in Sacramento.

Horrible time. We’ve been to midtown and UV many times. I made reservations at midtown to celebrate a birthday, party of 9. I made the mistake of putting in the reservation comments that we had two children with us. Don’t ever do it. That was our death sentence because we were sat in the very back of the restaurant in the “banquet room” which was cold and sterile and there was a long paper table runner on the table. I had requested a booth. I asked to change our table once I was told where we were sitting, but the hostess was quite short tempered and rude and said “I’m just going to be completely transparent with you: you’re a large party and will not fit in our large booths.” But she could have offered to slide several tables together and did not. We gave in and sat in the back and it was horrible. It was very cold in the room and our service was poor. Our waitress, although nice when she came by, was not in the room frequently enough and we had to wait for drink and chip refills as well as to order. Our tacos and burritos came out with cold filling. We should have sent it all back but did not because we had a 6 and 8 yr old whe were ready to eat. And since when do the tacos americanos come in a basic Taco Bell crunchy shell??? The pepita salad, advertised, with goat cheese, came with no goat cheese so we did request the goat cheese, which was brought out in a side dish. The happy birthday song was sung by 2 staff, definitely underwhelming compared to the tables in the main room who got 4-6 staff to sing. As if all of this wasn’t bad enough, what do we see as we’re exiting? 3 tables pushed together by the window facing Capitol Ave with 10-12 chairs! After years of patronizing them, we wont be back. Definitely didn’t appreciate the complete lack of customer service, the rude hostess with cleavage proudly displayed (tacky) who would not change our table and the cold food. Too many great Mexican food restaurants in Sacramento to suffer through Zocalos again.

Super lovely place for a quick lunch date. Happy hour menu was very nice and the options were not too bad either for the price. Will definitely return for maybe a dinner time!

It would have been nice if our waitress was available during the times we needed her for refills or just basic service needs. We had to wave down other staff members. It wasn’t too busy during the time we went. So other than that food was great and atmosphere was upbeat and the ambience was perfect for any occasion

We have always had a good experience at Zocalo but it was hampered by the waitress Mayra who was aloof and didn’t want to do anything for our table. Thanks to the busier who replenished water and chips. Mayra was asked to split the bill in two and she said that she couldn’t do that . We have eaten at Zocalo at least 15+ times and never had a problem. When she brought the bill she just said how much would we like to put on whomevers card …she impatiently waited as we while we tallied up the bill with our phones, tax and tip. Bad attitude

The worst service I've ever had at Zocalo. Everyone sitting outside in our same area kept asking for things repeatedly and people never brought them. There was no follow up from waiters.

Delicious, authentic central Mexican flavors. Great place to take someone who’s visiting town, but not your everyday dinning spot because of the price range.
