This restaurant attached to the Donatello Hotel was just the place we needed for a quiet lunch -- with MANY places only open at 5PM, so this was welcomed. There was no one else there and so in the end we literally had the restaurant to ourselves. The service was truly terrific. Evan, our waiter, handled bar and the rest of the meal with gracious care -- and for this, we were most grateful. The food was mixed. We had two appetizers -- (Mozzarrella al Fornoa/ prosciutto wrapped mozzarrella in balsamic glaze and COZZE. steamed mussels, lemon, butter, garlic, white wine, sherry vinegar, shallot, pancetta, parsley . The al forno was very mediocre, heavy sliced prosciutto overwhelming the cheese... The Cozze was lovely, intense and interesting flavors on mussels and pancetta...very unusual presentation f mussels. We then shared the pasta (FETTUCCINE alla ZÍNGARA. prawns, seared scallop, garlic, white wine, smoked tomato, lemon, caper, calabrian chili 36.50), for which the sauce was a heavier cream sauce then would seem necessary/the flavoring otherwise excellent...just heavier than hoped for.. And finally, we shared the bread pudding -- which was NOT typical of ANY bread pudding we have seen...but more like a french toast ...tasty...but simply not bread pudding. With two light drinks (an Aperol sprtizer and a Lincello/Prosecco, some sparkling water and two cappuccinos -- the meal came to $211 including what we were told on the bill was a 20% gratuity already included...for covering all staff...and to which i added because our waiter was so lovely...so the bill came to $250. For the unevenness of the lunch to be paying essential $125 a piece...this seems unfortunate. My issue is THIS pricing for food that was not superb for every dish.. Thank goodness the service was some of the best I've seen in a long time!

Tried this place while visiting SF for one night. Music was too loud even in the room next door. Food was mediocre. My friend ordered pasta with Alfredo sauce and she was very disappointed. It was flavorless. We’re always afraid to say anything in fear of staff tampering with our food. The waiter hardly checked on us after he brought the food out didn’t even ask if we wanted another glass of wine. They add a 20% gratuity to the check so he wasn’t concerned about his service. Needless to say, we won’t be returning when we’re back in the city.

On a whim I was looking for live music in SF. Noticed Zingari Ristorante Jazz Caffe online. We were pleasantly surprised with the dining experience and lovely atmosphere in the Soul Room. Our waiter made delicious recommendations and Joyce Grant delighted us with her incredible voice. We will definitely return for another evening with Joyce.. If you have a free evening venture out to Zingari Ristorante, you won't be disappointed.

I always enjoy dinner and music once or twice a year during my visits to San Francisco. The food is delectable and the music is always fabulous. Great ambience.

Wonderful music on Friday with Joyce Grant. Food was delicious! Bruschetta al pomodoro and pesto gnocchi were amazing! Highly recommend.

It was a Monday, a little slow. Everything was still excellent. I had the bruschetta and the meatball pasta. Server made me a lovely cocktail and recommended a nice red.

I had made the dinner reservation expecting to hear jazz. It was on a Sunday night, but since it was called a jazz café, and the reservation that I made on OpenTable was specifically for the artist room, I didn’t think there would be any issue. It turns out they only have jazz on Friday and Saturday nights. That being said, the food was outstanding, and the service was excellent.

Booked a table to enjoy a meal and music in the last day of our holiday. The front of house was disorganised and threw us to the bar to wait then wanted us to eat at the bar. I found that abhorrent given I booked a nice table For two. Then got told I would have to pay An additional $30 to be near the live music. So we were placed I. A quiet area of the restaurant with no atmosphere. The head waiter gave us a quarter of a glass of Prosecco to compensate. But overall we were unimpressed and would not recommend given the cost and service we experienced
