I recently had the pleasure of dining at Zia Maria Little Italy and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The food at this restaurant is simply outstanding. For my main dish, I ordered the carbonara and it was absolutely delicious. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the creamy sauce was rich and flavorful. It was truly a culinary delight. As for the appetizer, I decided to try the carpaccio di manzo and I was blown away. The thinly sliced beef was tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The combination of flavors, from the tangy dressing to the delicate Parmesan shavings, was a true delight for the taste buds. It was a perfect start to the meal. The service at Zia Maria Little Italy was equally impressive. The staff was attentive and friendly, always ready to assist with any requests. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. Overall, my experience at Zia Maria Little Italy was nothing short of amazing. The outstanding food, including the carbonara and carpaccio di manzo, left me craving for more. The exceptional service added to the overall enjoyment of the dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable Italian dining experience.

We loved Zia Maria. It was our first time and we’ll be back. The staff worked together as a team making sure guests were taken care of and it was really refreshing to get great service. We ordered the pizza with prosciutto, arugula and parm. Best pizza I’ve had in NYC. We also got the special truffle Alfredo handmade pasta made in the wheel of cheese. Freaking incredible. Best thing I’ve eaten in my entire life. I will have dreams of eating that pasta until I’m able to travel back to NYC again. So glad we happened upon this restaurant. Thank you for a great experience.

Zia Maria drove me to tears from a compilation of a terrible meal - including highlights of ‘Smile for me’ ‘We can’t find your credit card’ and more… For a positive - the decor of the restaurant is adorable. Cute booths, fun neon signs, polished aesthetics. The busboys were incredible and we ensured to tip them directly as it didn’t seem from asking they’d receive part of the tip. The food was okay at best, not the recommendation I would give for someone looking for an authentic Italian meal in Little Italy. The meatballs and beet salad were my favorites of what we ate. Go next door to Paesano’s for wonderful service and incredible Italian food. The manager and waiter at this restaurant were atrocious. We waited 30 minutes before being seen by a waiter, after being sat. The manager belittled me when I asked if he could point out who our server was so we could flag him down to finally order drinks. They had multiple errors - wrong beverage, wrong appetizer, forgot to read the specials, chipped and dirty plate, and then ‘forgot’ to let us know that one of the special two of us ordered was meant for two+ people to split. The manager again stopped at our table after we ordered and told me to ‘be patient your food is coming’ when I asked a clarifying question on some cutlery dropped at the table and then asked me to ‘SMILE FOR HIM’. The disrespect as a patron made me so uncomfortable, thinking he was going to continue to come to our table and heckle me; this made for a terrible time. The whole experience drove me to tears. I would never go back to this restaurant. We listened as the table next to us paid, and the waiter somehow lost their credit card on the walk back from the register to their table. No offer of comping the meal and kept trying to make excuses. The manager who heckled me just kept walking back and forth next to our tables with his phone flash light looking under the tables. They knew they did a terrible job and tried to give us free dessert a

We ordered the following and all was delicious: Bruschetta, Lobster Ravioli, Shrimp Scampi, Chicken Parmesan and Pepperoni Pizza. The employees were friendly, courteous and knowledgeable.

Food was alright but the service was horrible. Arrived with a reservation for a table inside for 2 people and was told we would have a lengthy wait or we could sit outside. It was a bit chilly and windy, but nothing too crazy so we opted to sit out on the ‘patio’. Not sure having a reservation means much here, I wasn’t even asked my name. It took 15 minutes just to get water and for our server to come to our table. That should have been my first cue to leave but noticed it was quite busy and wanted to be understanding. The service from our waiter did not get any better. We ordered the Arancini to start. This came out quickly and was delicious. My husband ordered the bolognese and I had the chicken Parmesan. Note here that the menu online does not match the restaurant menu. The items differ slightly. My dish came out with the pasta undercooked. Our waiter opted to give me a bit of a lesson saying that real Italian food has al dente pasta, which I know.. but when your fork can’t go through it, that’s not quite al dente, it needed a bit longer. My meal was taken back while my husband finished his dinner. Our server did not seem to care about this inconvenience. The bolognese was alright, the chicken parm was meh. In my opinion, there is nothing special here that made this restaurant stand out. Luis, the kind gentleman who was in charge of keeping our water refilled and our table clear, at least showed some care and attention. He was the only person we interacted with who was kind and friendly or that we saw on a regular basis. He made the effort to make things right even though it really wasn’t on him. The lack of service and mediocre food would make me choose someplace else. This place is disorganized. Being one of the more popular places on Mulberry, I expected better. Overall, there are far better options in NYC. I wouldn’t waste my time here again.

Incredible food. Took my mom here for her birthday(and first time in NYC) this past Friday night(4/19/24). Staff was helpful, food was incredible. Have I mentioned the good was incredible?

Absolutely amazing! The food was to die for. The service was impeccable. I felt like I was back in Italy. You can tell they take pride in what they do.

The linguine with clams had little flavor. Overall, all our pasta dishes were bland and basic…nothing exciting. The veal piccata and chicken Zia Maria dishes were good. It’s really sad when these places in little Italy are like this, seems just uninspired and tired.

What a special spot in Little Italy! So glad I found this place and would highly recommend. The decor is modern chic design with a trendy edge. The food was fantastic! Service was great and we felt like family.
