Showcasing hand-crafted spirits, Zapote celebrates artisanal producers and sources from local small-scale farms to create cocktails that are at once familiar and nuanced for both casual and discerning drinkers. The food reflects the diverse culinary heritage of the Yucatán Peninsula including Middle Eastern flavors with a special focus on live-fire cooking. Zapote Bar is a love letter to the Yucatán, its products, culture and people. Created and operated by Rosewood Mayakoba under the leadership of Director of Mixology, Joshua Monaghan, Zapote Bar is an internationally recognized destination for Yucatan-inspired craft cocktails and a celebration of hacienda culture and Mexican hospitality. It is located at Rosewood Mayakoba, 12 minutes north of Playa del Carmen.

    Fernando was amazing. His drinks were exceptional but his professionalism and knowledge was beyond expectations. The bar had a cool vibe but it’s because of Fernando that we’d come back.

    Espere en caseta de seguridad, no me dieron acceso, la persona de la entrada mencionó que la equipo de zapote mencionó estar muy ocupados para crearme un acceso. Realmente triste esa experiencia.

    The cocktails and food were excellent. And the ambiance is worth coming back for. My only complaint was that the "house music" was too loud.

    Excellent food - the sea bass was prepared in a manner I’ve never experienced, raw and melted in our mouths bathed in a light sauce. Guest bartender made fun cocktails. Waiters recommended off menu drinks which were unique and didn’t disappoint. Wine menu not that extensive. Food came out quick, but service was overall slow. Awesome ambience, life music and fun scene. We were staying at the Fairmont and ventured to the Rosewood for dinner.

    Too expensive for what it is! Especially the food was very disappointing. Worse tortillas ever! Drinks are good but not worth the price.

    Lush open restaurant/bar space with a comfortable feel. Staff at the top of their game make you feel welcome and appreciated. There is a reason why this place is ranked one of the best bars in the world. Take a trip off of the beaten path and let the mixologists deliver an experience and education in local, expertly prepared craft cocktails.

    Wonderful cocktails and good snacks. It’s a little tricky to entire if your not a guest of rosewood but other then that is was great.

    The quality of the food and drinks was great, but absolutely over priced and the music was so loud it was like you were at a club not a bar. I do not recommend this place for a date, or cocktails with friends. It’s too bad the ambience which was loud and awful did not match the beautiful arquitectura and over priced cocktails. We paid 45 dollars for a glass of wine and a Manhattan and I couldn’t speak to my partner at all. It should be called Zapote CLUB, not bar. Never going back there again.

    AMAZING SERVICE!!! Great cocktails . Amazing service . Super secure. Check out the back room (blue room). Get the rum punch milk. We tasted a variety of cocktails and we’re not disappointed at all!! Take a little tour around the facility to see how ama big it is . Breathtaking night

    We loved the look and vibe of Zapote Bar. Our cocktails were excellent, something we especially appreciated since, throughout our two-week trip in the Riviera Maya, we often were disappointed with the cocktails served at high-end places. The service was very good, and the food delicious. We did feel that $500MX / $25USD for a cocktail was over-the-top; and the food prices - at least for the mains - were quite high ($45-60USD). But we also accept that this is sometimes standard with Rosewood properties. We definitely recommend Zapote for the unique overall experience it provides.
