It’s has an ok sushi menu mixed in with random fish and meat dishes. Service was fine, nothing exceptional. I think people would enjoy sitting at the bar and having a drink.

It took forever to get a server and the food had no seasonings on it. Not even salt. Maybe the worst food in downtown San Diego and that’s no exaggeration at all.

After all the hike, an amazing write ups we had high expectations for a visit, sadly they were not achieved. The food was good, but not great, it was made the meal even less was the service that we did not “receive. You next to a table with three women in their 30’s to 40’s and dressed to the nines, all very beautiful, but clearly this created a distraction for our server as he spent 90% of his time checking in on them and 10% on us. Additionally, we a salad, entrée and a side and expected the salad would be served first but instead all three items were brought simultaneously. This made for a very rushed meal and even though we tried to eat all three together the entire and side dish got cold. We will not be going back.

The meals were fantastic, the scenery was nice, however the seating was a little uncomfortable as the tables felt too high for the chairs.

When visiting restaurants like this I am expecting outstanding service. The atmosphere was excellent, loved the decor. The food over all was good. The side dish was a little cold but had good flavor. The service was very poor in my opinion. The server came and introduced himself very nicely but after that he disappeared for long periods of time resulting in us having to flag down other servers to get anything. Three groups that arrived after us was served before us. They switched servers on us and the second one was less interactive than the first. At the end, I asked for the check and it had items that we did not order on it. Server seemed upset and asked me several times if I was sure when I requested they be removed. "YES, I'm sure I know what we ate and drank." He corrected it but then provided me with the wrong receipt when I asked for it. I am recommending the location because a restaurant should be judged by one bad experience with two individuals. So we will try Zama again.

It was the first time at zama, great happy hour. Host was nice . Sat at the bar great deal and quality!!!

Had a great time. Friendly staff, someone always checking on us, ambience was nice, fun electric music. Only cons were the silverware could have been a bit cleaner/polished and the table numbers need to be sorted better because we had 3 different dishes brought to us that we didn't order. Music was a bit too loud at some point that we had to yell to hear the waiter
