Here at Zafferano, we like to keep things a little old school, from sourcing to serving, our key values remain.
Simone, the Head Chef and co-owner of Zafferano grew up inside the kitchen of his family's restaurant in Porticello, Sicily and brings that passion and authenticity to his food.
We combine local, fresh, seasonal ingredients with passion and tradition, to create a menu that is endlessly devoted to flavour and quality. We have a love for food, for the whole experience. We believe in celebrating just how powerful food can be, from the seed to the plate. Because connection through food is our mission.
Our space is intimate with only 38 seats and the overall vibe of the restaurant really transports you to Sicily with an outdoor courtyard that feels like a traditional Italian piazza.
We have a few signature dishes however the Risotto Marinara & Spaghetti Marinara are definitely at the for front of our menu.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner in this warm and cozy neighbourhood gem. Service was very attentive and we loved our food choices would recommend.

Lovely dining experience with fresh and light Sicilian dishes. Service was excellent. Seafood is super fresh - the prawns in the Marinara was amazing. Dining area at the back can be noisy with large groups but we were moved to a more quieter table later in the evening which was very considerate.

Very unusual quirky restaurant. Small and intimate. Great atmosphere. Superb food and service. We will be regulars. Highly recommended.

The service is fabulous and the food was okay. Good enough for casual food if the pricing was more reasonable.

Hoping it was just an off night but the meat in the pasta was dry, wine had a big amount of sediment, and flavors weren’t as good as my first dining experience.

The ambience was great and the service outstanding. Food was very good but for a Trattoria style restaurant it is at the pricy end of the scale.

Small delicious menu - pastas and risotto plus a special steak & fish dish. We chose to sit outside but were able to move indoors when rain threatened later on. Lovely waiting staff who know the menu and wine list. Lots of Sicilian specialities which gave a genuine feel of being on holiday. Would definitely recommend and return.
