L'atmosphère est élégante et sereine, rappelant la simplicité japonaise combinée avec la sensualité et les éléments issus des paysages de la côte ouest. Les éléments qui figurent au menu sont un mélange de traditions japonaises et audacieuses avec une touche européenne. La présentation des plats est résolument moderne.     Our KAISEKI COURSE is 7-8 seasonal courses including dessert. We offer this course at the chef's table (sushi bar counter) only, for up to 4 guests. We require a reservation at least one week in advance, which is FULLY PRE-PAID in order to have seasonal ingredients to be flown in from Japan. This charge is NON-REFUNDABLE, however it is transferable. We suggest a dining time anywhere between 2.5 hrs to 3 hrs to fully enjoy this course. We are unable to offer gluten free or vegan/vegetarian options, PLEASE NOTIFY US YOUR DIETARY RESTRICTION AT THE TIME OF MAKING YOUR RESERVATION.

    We had a spendid bday dinner tonight. They have creative dishes that are full of surprises for the pallate. We had bamboo shoot teriyaki, anago tempura and sablefish roll, gyu suji stew and wagyu toban-yaki are not the common dishes that you will find out there. The sashimi and fresh oysters needless to say were fresh and delicious. Definitely a solid 10/10! Will definitely return again.

    We have been to Yuwa many times and it never dissapoints. The people are truly awesome! Friendly and knowledable! The food is fabulous, we have no idea how they get their rice to taste so moist and delicious!

    The owner and her staff continue to keep this a wonderful neighbourhood favourite. Excellent food, wine selection, service and atmosphere. Easy to converse as music and noise are at low levels in the background. We tried a few seasonal dishes along with our favourite sashimi- really enjoyed the sable fish roll and tempura fiddleheads. Glad see and drink the Arneis on your wine list. See you again soon.

    Dinner at Yuwa was a wonderful experience - the food, the atmosphere and excellent attentive service. All of the dishes we selected were amazing and was server was helpful making recommendations. Iori, the owner is a consummate professional in not only her knowledge of wine but the best of Japanese sake.

    Has to be one of the top 3 Japanese restaurants in town! Way beyond sushi (which is 1st class)... the chef creates many delicious cooked dishes.

    We LOVE it here and go 2 or 3 times a month. We have eaten at many places over the years and this is by far the best. Chef shops daily for fresh ingredients, the sushi and rolls are the BEST. The kitchen prepared food is wonderful and the front of house staff and service is warm and engaging. We don’t understand how they make it so tasty and fresh, every single time. ♥️ You need to eat here! Make reservations. As the weather warms up they have outside seating.

    Lovely and elegant dinner choosing a la carte items mostly from the specials and tapas. Highlights included gomae made with kale, sesame and nuts; the chef's sashimi selection; seasonal tempura with matcha salt; and Shima Abi Namero. Attentive service was helpful, friendly and not uptight. Such a wonderful evening!

    One of the most unique and special meals we have had. The sushi was fresh and delicious, the Japanese tapas were yum, and the sake was fruity and crisp. The main chef was knowledgeable and friendly.

    This is a place for true foodies! It isn't a trendy place, but the food is phenomenal. None of the dishes disappointed and the service was impeccable. Their sashimi includes a variety of fish that are not easily found elsewhere. However, the cooked dishes is what really shined for me. A strong recommendation for a restaurant that may not have the highest reviews on Google (which I think is due to not having a trendy vibe).

    Wow, wonderful kaseki dinner. Sever was attentive and spent time describing every item on each dish. Felt well taken care of. Definitely worth it, especially for special night out.

    The food is okay except the uni sashimi was bad. We brought the food to the waiter. She said “I checked with the kitchen, they said it’s not fresh but it’s eatable Because it’s not completely spoiled yet.” 😅 None of the sushi chefs wear masks. Since they are in such close contact with raw meat, I’m quite surprised.

    The experience was great. I’ve been to many kaiseki meal, but this one was a bit of a miss. Food was good. Service was great. I was hoping for more of a Japanese kaiseki experience. I was also hoping for more seafood and ingredients that was stated that we would be enjoying for the evening was being or coming from Japan . Majority of the ingredients seems to be from BC. There was nothing wrong with the product, but please say so on your description/ or menu offering on your site. Would even pay a little more if all ingredients were actually from Japan.

    A wonderful meal, every dish was excellent. It was beautifully presented and the quality of the ingredients was allowed to shine. We enjoyed the Masumi Aka Yamahai Junmai Ginjo sake with our dinner We had wonderful pickles to start, the matsutake tempura was a seasonal treat, the kale goma-ae was the best I've tasted, the sable fish was delicate and perfectly prepared, the red wine miso stew had a delicious umami sauce and we finished off with a spectacular Kabocha cheesecake for dessert. It was comfortable seating and the music was soft. the perfect ambiance for a relaxing dinner and quiet conversation.

    Fabulous Japanese food. Our group really enjoyed both the cooked dishes (with seasonal specials) and also the classic very fresh sushi. We can't wait to go back. Manager Iori really knows a lot about sake!!
