Ysidora pays homage to the Mission's matriarch Ysidora Forster, and invites guests to relax, unwind and indulge in authentic Spanish flavors in a contemporary setting. Enjoy wood fired grilled seafood, hot and cold tapas, local meats and seasonal, locally sourced produce. San Juan Capistrano's moderate climate mimics that of Spain's, making for a perfect match of culinary offerings. Parking is Valet only available at main hotel entrance. $10 for first 2 hours with validation, $5 per hour for each subsequent hour. Please call us with any questions.

I don’t know where to start: • Open Table didn’t indicate that there was a prix fixe menu for Mother’s Day, which it normally does, so we were surprised by a set menu with few options for $70pp (which didn’t include coffee). A cranberry juice (also not included) cost an extra $10. • We were charged for the mimosa we ordered while we waited for our table to be ready, only to find out that a mimosa was included in the prix fixe menu. They didn’t rectify this. • When we asked questions about the menu (normal things, like, “What do you recommend?”) the waiter responded with some truly bizarre answers. At one point he described the shrimp cocktail as “shrimp in a bowl with watered-down cocktail sauce.” I asked about an ingredient in the vegan option listed on the menu and he said “Hm, you know what, I have no idea!” and just shrugged. I had to literally ask him to go find out. • The food was straight up disgusting. Inedible! It was such a waste. Even the fruit was bad, like it had been sitting out for hours. • I don’t hate country music, but like other guests have noted, the music is just awful. I am begging them to reconsider the playlist. Overall it was such a disappointing, strange, and expensive experience.

This is one of my favorite places for brunch, however was left extremely disappointed with the Mother’s Day brunch which was $70 pre fixed menu plus a 20% service fee. Not worth what we got or what they offered.

I never post reviews but I have never had such a terrible experience. Waiting over an hour for our food with no one filling water or drinks or even mentioning that our food would be that long… horrible.

We had some of the best food we've had in a long time. Our server was fantastic and his suggestions were spot on. Our only complaint is the ambiance. I don't think we'd mind the open floor plan as much if we had a sizable party, as we saw they could easily accommodate. Since it was the 2 of us, it lacked a cozy feel. Otherwise, the food, decor, service were all outstanding!

Liked the look, food was good, not great but service was in great need of help. Forgotten orders, extensive wait, dining partners served entree at different times. Better training is critical.

Sadly, this will be our last time dining at Ysidora. We love the atmosphere and the Inn - but the food and service was terrible. Our food was cold and not cooked to order. We've dined several times at Ysidora over the last 18 months and the experience and food has gotten progressively worse each time.

Our servers could not have been nicer. The only downside to this location is the sound does get louder as more tables fill. The designs are great being so open, and the tile floors. Great look, but that is why it gets loud. Food?, yummy.

Lovely ambience conducive for an evening of catching up with old friends. Enjoyed the music being played, however it was a bit too loud for having conversation before and during dinner. Again, enjoyed the play list, just a bit lower.

When we arrived, we were told no self parking, valet only. We walked in and went to lounge to have an appetizer and drink before dinner. At least 4 tables were empty but full of dirty dishes and leftover food. We sat down at a table with glasses and thought someone would be by to pick them up. We eventually moved them to another dirty table. We realized there were no servers. One employee did bring a bottle of wine to a table of six. She looked like management. My husband went to bar and the bartender stood in front of him and did not serve him our drinks for15 minutes. The bar wasn’t even crowded. 4 people (one party) sitting on the end on our side. Three people on the other side. The party of 4 raised their hand and the bartender left standing in front of my husband and got them a refill. He finally got our drinks - bourbon and a Diet Coke and we ordered a flatbread mushroom and fig and it was delicious. We were seated at our table in the dining room and our server Justin was terrific. Attentive, professional, and friendly. Our food was outstanding. The tables in the dining room looked and felt like cafeteria style tables and there were wooden placemats that were chipped and warped. We were VERY surprised as we were so excited about an upscale hotel and restaurant coming to our town. For the price we paid, we will not come back but our Compliments to the chef.

Love this place. Omg. Lunch is the best. I never want to leave the ambience is so lovely. Servers friendly and helpful. Food beyond delicious!!!!

We had an excellent experience. It was a wonderful meal for our family Christmas. The food and drinks were amazing. Our server was exceptional. We couldn’t have asked for better service from the whole staff.

Mediocre food. The restaurant was empty - one other table occupied. It took forever to get our food. Truffle fries came out cold. Entrees-2 out of 4 came out barely warm. Super disappointing dining experience

My husband and I came for industry night on Monday and we really enjoyed ourselves. We ordered the croquettes de Jamon, charred octopus, and the Spanish chorizo flatbread. All great choices. Very happy with dinner and will definitely be back again.

Our server Jeff is so amazing, if you can ask for him. We’ve had the pleasure of sitting in his section a few times now. Food and cocktails great as always. Recommend the short ribs with mash potatoes…heavenly

This review is on the Cafe only, not the restaurant. Although we were allowed on Open Door to make reservations for breakfast at Ysidora restaurant we found out at arrival that the j restaurant is only open for dinner on weekdays. Our only option was the cafe which was ok but not what we had expected. Service was good and staff accommodating. Food was average. The patio setting and grounds are beautiful. We will be back to actually try Yisidora in the future.

Beautiful setting but the tile floor makes it a noisy place. The service was very slow, the food was ok but not up to the price level standards. The hamburger seemed like it was made from frozen patties, not handmade. The door to the patio was open so it was chilly inside on a December evening.

This is a gem that I don’t think everyone knows about! We chose a selection of tapas and everything we had was wonderful. Our only negative is that our cocktails were very expensive. We ate in the beautiful courtyard while a guitarist played and sang at a perfect dinner volume.

Had a later dinner. Sat outside after the live music finished. Inside had a big crowd at the bar and their voices carried. It would have been challenging to have a quiet dinner. Outside was perfect. A bit chilly, so the waiter brought me a blanket. Jeffrey was on top of it and very helpful. He even had us checked in to our hotel while we had dinner. The hotel is attached. The food and drinks were really good. The courtyard looks smaller and more charming in the photos, but it was nice to sit outside on such a nice night. It was warmer earlier. We sat at 9pm and it got cooler. The bar was lively and fun. We were staying there for a weekend wedding.

It was our first time dining at the restaurant so we didn’t know what to expect. The food and service was good but a bit expensive for the value. I did not appreciate paying $10.00 for parking after spending over $250.00 for dinner.

Very nice restaurant to celebrate a special occasion like an anniversary. The food selection was excellent along with drinks. The bar is located in the center of the dining area, and makes for loud conversation during happy hour. Once it diminishes, it makes for a romantic setting. Highly recommend

Have the salmon, have the french cut chicken with green mole ... enjoy the fantastic ambiance and wonderful service, but be absolutely sure you don't miss the apple pie! OMGosh, the apple pie ... I'm so craving it right now. What a wonderful experience, all the way around. Thank you Ysidora! See you soon!
