Yō Nashi is a New Orleans omakase restaurant. Utilizing local ingredients and flavor with Japanese technique and presentation, Chef Mack creates a dining experience that invokes a sense of transportation while simultaneously being rooted in the city where he presides.

      This is a well done omakase, it isn't like any Omakase I've ever had in Japan since the chefs seem to work off a set menu and everyone gets the same dishes. Japanese/Okinawa omakases are far more intimate with the chef curating to you specifically. That being said the food was very well prepared, presented and paired. It truly was a great meal of the highest quality. The venue is on the small side, but that is not for an omakase due to the chefs usually only preparing food for very few people at a time in a very intimate setting. That being said, they did sit us right beside another couple when there clearly was space for us to be further apart, this was an anniversary dinner and I would have loved to have had a little more separation between us and other diners. The ambience was again just as you would expect, soothing music and the staff was very careful to avoid any of the noise occurrences of normal restaurant dining (clanging plates, etc). Value, this is a bit eye of the beholder, but I feel like the quality and preparation of the dishes was exquisite, I simply wanted more personal preparation. Seeing everyone get the same food in the same order is not omakase, it's simply a set menu being very well executed. That's where my head is at, I paid $350 for an omakase and I didn't get the true omakase experience. I got exquisite food, presentation, service and ambience but I didn't get the personalized omakase experience. I highly recommend this location however for znyone wanting a small intimate dining experience, just curve tour idea of traditional omakase to a more modern US version of it. It's still amazing food and you won't be disappointed.

      A 7 bite I mean err “course” (loosely) menu that is rediculously slowly served, and extremely small portions. The final straw was the two small bite dessert after waiting 15 minutes….we saw the couple next to us and thought oh man the dessert is small. Yet when we got ours it was even half the size of theirs…so if you must go here, go early so the portions are better. Because as they run out, they give you small portions and still charge you the $100 a person. SMH. Won’t be back!

      Phenomenal omikase. Each item was well explained by the chef. It is expensive but with each bite I took, I thought about that less and less. Impeccable service. As good as it gets IMO.

      Wonderful tasting menu of diverse and interesting food, a Cajun take on Japanese cuisine. Staff were fantastic and experience very enjoyable!

      Of the 7 courses, 5 were really delicious and two very good. I would have loved to have more of the ones we loved. At the end of the meal we were still a bit hungry. I would definitely like to go again and maybe order a couple of extra courses knowing it will be $$$.

      I am very picky when it comes to Japanese food. I was at a conference and stumbled in to this delightful restaurant. There is only counter service build around the sushi chefs. The service and the food was spectacular. The atmosphere was peaceful and classy. I suggest a reservation

      This was such an epic experience! One dish was more delicious than the next! The space is chill and lovely and the staff was super nice and highly attentive. We can’t stop talking about it. Yum!

      Without a doubt, the best sushi restaurant I have experienced to date, and I have lots of experience with this cuisine. Very creative and every single course was simply exceptional, including the A5. A don’t miss in a city with a long list of great restaurants.

      Shockingly good and tastefully creative sushi. I've had some of the most renowned sushi in the world - Tokyo, NY, London, LA - and somehow this little spot in New Orleans tops them all. Its not that any one piece of Yo Nashi nigiri wins over, say, a piece of nigiri at Inaba... rather it's the total combination of omakase tastes at Yo Nashi that does the trick. Anyhow. I never write reviews but this was next level.

      The space was a little crammed and the sushi counter was very high so you felt very closed off from the chefs and couldn’t see any of the preparation, which I’m not used to at omakase. Also, it may have just been an off night but the spacing between courses was wildly long. After an hour we had only been served two things, the oyster and a soup. I’m also not used to not really interacting with the chefs at all. There was no conversation what so ever other than telling us what we were getting very briefly when it was handed over, which is maybe just their style here but not my preference. Other Omakasa places I’ve eaten at have been much more interactive, the chef talking about the food and being able to see it being prepared and more of a show. The actual food itself was very underwhelming. As I mentioned before the timing between courses was extremely long and then the actual nigiri all came out at once. 5 pieces presented on one tray. I feel like had they been sent out separately it would have felt like you were getting more and a way to feel like there was less time between courses. I also felt like the 5 pieces presented together did not go well with one another. They didn’t feel like they were planned to complement one another and that took away from the experience. Personally I only liked one of the five pieces presented (although I ate them all, it’s not like they were terrible just didn’t think they were very good). My partner had the same opinion, he only liked 1/5. Overall I was not impressed and wouldn’t return. The hostess was very nice, as was everyone we interacted with. Just an oddly disjointed and not very tasty presentation in my personal opinion.

      The focus was flavor. There were ebbs and flows of intensity throughout the courses, but the highlights were the sushi course and the hamachi. We’ll definitely be back to explore as the menu changes.

      This was an absolutely Incredible omakase experience. We did the Sake pairing - each was matched perfectly with the food for the particular course. Wagyu upgrade was definitely worth it. One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. If you’re looking for an incredible omakase experience in New Orleans, this is it.

      We tried Yo-Nashi for the first time to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Every course was incredible, all the staff was very attentive, and the chefs were accommodating to my food allergies. We loved it and will return!

      My first experience at Yo Nashi was for a Valentine's Day omakase special, and it was absolutely stunning. Each dish was unique and delicious, and the chefs and staff were professional, kind, and knowledgeable. Overall, it was an exquisite experience that definitely warrants many more visits.

      My second time to enjoy this awesome Omakase cuisine. The menu was different than the first trip and just as tasty. Cannot recommend Yo Nashi enough to those traveling to NOLA and want a Sushi experience. The flavor profiles will always have me coming back to see what's new.
