Ye Olde Kings Head in Santa Monica, California has been open for over 40 years. It has developed an amazing reputation as among the most recognizable, finest British pubs in the USA. We have a casual comfortable dining room with Fireplace in the cooler months and an outdoor heated patio where patrons can sit and enjoy the restaurant’s delicious food. We love going to Ye Olde Kings Head for afternoon tea because the food is delicious and the service is impeccable. The tea is piping hot and the champagne is perfectly chilled. I live out of state, and one thing we always do when I visit my family is come in to enjoy high tea. Outstanding in every way. Thank you for keeping your standards so high; it is like a little taste of England every time we go!

Perfect spot to reminisce your trip to the UK and her fish and chips! Servers accents and the whole vibe just makes you feel like you are back in Scotland, Ireland or London;) Big juicy pieces of fish too! Perfect batter The desserts….hmmmmmm Maybe crispy the apple pie a bit.

Ye Olde is my favorite “Afternoon Tea” spot while visiting LA. We always enjoy the ambience, the delicious food and tea. We always receive amazing and personalized service from Christine and her staff. I am dairy free and she made sure to provide a few non-dairy options for me. (Yes, it totally sucks to be dairy free for an afternoon tea!) Definitely worth a visit if you’re an AT fan like me

Christine was great! She made the experience so much better!!! The place is small but pretty and cozy. It does get a bit loud so not your typical tea experience, but it was fun nonetheless. Food was very good too. I would definitely go back.

There were nine of us and Debbie and her crew did not miss a beat! Amazing. It was like she had four arms or something. More coffee, hot sauce please, can I have another beer and OMG here come our main dishes!! She’s a dream come true. Oh yeah - so is the King’s Head!

Came here for afternoon tea with a group of girlfriends. Reasonably priced tea served with scones, small bites and ginger sandwiches. Our server was attentive and sweet. We all enjoyed having afternoon tea. It felt like we got transported to London in the middle of Santa Monica.

This is kind of a Santa Monica institution- but it still delivers. A very nice traditional English menu, including such classics as shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, and their very famous fish and chips. The food is surprisingly good, I don't think we have ever had anything really off. Of course, you have to like this sort of fare. Drinks are reasonable, and the service is just fine. It can get crazy busy on, for instance, Saturday night, so plan accordingly. We particularly like the red room with all the King's heads on display- cheers!

Met a friend for afternoon tea shortly before Christmas. The room was adorn in holiday decorations Our waitress was delightful and attentive, the pastries and sandwiches were yummy (I really liked the sausage roll) and it was what a tea should be - a delightful afternoon repast. I will be back.

Last year you offered a Gluten free tea. This is I was completely surprised you were unable to offer gluten free. This is not a hard thing to do. Every other restaurant for afternoon tea has gluten free choices. I suggest you consider it

Ordered chicken pot pie and it came with veges and fries. Overall very good, although thought the sauce in pie could have been a bit smoother and more well- seasoned. Still a winner. Desserts were yummy and perfect.

Seated immediately. We were seated in front of the fireplace with a fire inside, warm and cozy. Server took our drink order quickly and we enjoyed a relaxed dinner, attentive but not rushed. Always a pleasant experience here.

As a Brit, this “Sunday Roast” was appalling. Meat was like terribly cooked road kill, vegetables were shrived up, Yorkshire pudding could be so much better with a little training, the roast potatoes gave the effect of frozen roast potatoes. Gravy and service was great.

Typical English restaurant. The food is amazing. You can get typical uk food at the shop on the left of the restaurant. They also serve High Tea. What an experience. Went to one last year. Don’t miss this place!

I chose Ye Old Kings Head to take my friend for our Friday adventure. We were not disappointed. We were led through the restaurant which was busy with customers and ended up in a private area that was a perfect tearoom! Each wall had portraits of English Kings and underneath the picture was a short paragraph about their reign. While Henry VIII had many wives some of whom he beheaded, he also had a very peaceful reign and did not even have an army. We chose our teas and were brought a tea tray with three levels. The bottom level had sandwiches made of the Coronation Chicken Salad which I had read about at the time of Charles coronation. We also had vegetarian sandwiches which worked well since my friend is a vegie-tarian. The top plate had all kinds of pastries including scones. We ended our trip in the gift shop next door to buy more scones and clotted cream. Our server was Christi who was from Scotland and she was excellent.

Christine was the BEST server! reasonably priced high tea in a very high priced area. We will be back for sure. Parking terrible in that area tho, $25!! Ouch!

Waitress was hung over and the other staff had to cover for her. Horrid service and mediocre food. Used to be a great place but the current manager Matt is running the place to the ground. Avoid this place.

It had been quite a few years since we had driven up here from Orange County, and didn't disappoint. Everyone had a different dish: Sunday Roast - Beef, Sunday Roast - Lamb, Steak & Guinness Pie, Shepherds Pie and Fish & Chips (2 pieces with a different batter type of each piece), and all were happy. Good portion size as well, especially the Sunday Roasts, we ended up having left overs for a few of us, so another meal at home the next day! Shared a couple of Sticky Toffee Puddings and a Rhubarb Crumble for dessert, and those were great too. And the Fullers London Pride tasted pretty fresh. Service was excellent. Fairly quiet mid-afternoon on a Sunday, a good time to visit. I've been coming here on and off since I first arrived "off the boat" from the UK nearly 40 years ago now, and it's never disappointed. I see they now have Afternoon Tea, my wife and I will be back for that!

Sunday Roast did not disappoint. The roast beef was perfect as were the vegetables, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding.

5 of us went. 3 got the Tea. Amazing value for $35. The tea was so tasty. The sandwiches , sausage roll and other savories were great, amazing sweets, and fresh scones with clotted cream snd jam. 2 of us ordered the Poached Cod , it was very good. Also one of us got the Clam Chowder, get a cup, it’s thick delicious and very filling. Don’t bother starting with a dinner salad, $10 is way too much and it was nothing special.
