The oldest remaining structure in Denver’s iconic Union Station neighborhood, historic Hose House No. 1 was one of the first fire stations in Denver. Established as a volunteer fire station in 1881, before the City of Denver created a paid fire department, it has been lovingly restored and re-imagined as an iconic, inclusive kitchen & bar.

Named after one of Denver’s earliest fire foremen, Redwood “Woodie” Fisher, Woodie Fisher Kitchen & Bar reflects the historic building’s symbol of heritage, quality, and character. Those same values return to the historic Hose House through intentional, thoughtful design and menu items that will surprise, intrigue, and welcome.

Located on the corner of 20th and Chestnut on the edge of Denver’s Union Station, Lower downtown and Ballpark neighborhoods, Woodie Fisher is an ideal location for baseball fans, city explorers, and local neighbors.

Great food overall though the barramundi was undercooked. They quickly got another more cooked one to the table. Pasta was nice. Server was not knowledgeable on dishes Great space!

Great atmosphere with an abundance of fresh air! The food was well prepared and seasoned. Our server was attentive and offered great recommendations! We enjoyed some happy hour drinks. We will definitely be back!

We arrived for brunch at 12pm and ordered a drink and burrata toast, then waited about 20 minutes until our server could take our food order. Around 1:30 we still didn’t receive our brunch food and it wasn’t until we made eye contact with our server did she tell us the food order was never submitted. We had to leave so we asked for the check and to cancel our food order. Worst service I’ve ever received.

Came for 5280 Restaurant Week. This is the BEST menu we could find for places that had their menu posted. Our group tried as many items as we could and NOTHING disappointed! We all had so much excitement over the creativity of the menu, and we were downright floored with how delicious every appetizer, meal and dessert was. 10/10 we will return!

Our server was both a bartender and our table server. She was overworked and justifiably confused. Although I made the reservation weeks in advance, they placed us at a table behind the bar right next to the door; cold air every time someone came in or left. It was very loud, making conversation difficult. However the food was superb and when she had time, our server was nice.

Happy hour is fantastic, food was amazing, my husband and I shared the burger and pasta dish, both were great. The apps we got were also great, Brussel sprouts and sturgeon dip. Cocktails were delicious. Our waitress was so sweet, but I can’t remember her name for the life of me, she had great recommendations! We will definitely be back.

We came here because we have the dining out passbook. The happy hour offerings and prices were decent. Unfortunately the passbook is good for just 6-ish items on the menu and are limited if you have dietary restrictions. I ordered an option off of the shareable items part of the menu - the fungi pie - which sounded much better than it tasted. When I presented the passbook, our server quickly dismissed it since I had not ordered an entree. The fungi pie was a happy hour item but, of course, she didn’t ring it in before 6pm (even though we got there at 5:30). Her response was “there’s always next time!” Um no, there won’t be a next time. My partner did order the steak special which he enjoyed at least since we were dining for his birthday.

The restored space has a wonderful ambiance, and it was no problem having a conversation at a table of 4 without straining to hear or shut out other tables conversations. Menu is unimaginative and small, and the food was mediocre at best. Small portions, was not hot upon arrival at our table, and way overpriced for what was on the plate. We will revisit for cocktails to enjoy the space, but we'll pass on dinner.

We went during happy hour (on a Saturday) and the prices were great, had a few glasses of wine plus some shared plates and were shocked at the bill (in a good way). Food was delicious and the staff were great!

I love this restaurant so much. I first came here for Restaurant Week and I love the fact their restaurant week menu features almost their entire regular menu, giving you the opportunity to try several things, rather than a small limited menu. They have an amazing happy hour, dinner is always amazing (love that Burrata too, wow), and they just launched brunch to be 7 days a week instead of just the weekend! I never have a bad meal here and the service is great! Will be back for sure.

Bartenders were more interested in walking around and talking with the staff instead of serving drinks. Our server was great, but didn’t know anything about the menu. Caesar salad was warm, steak was cold and precut with a burnt sauce. Never again.

Majority of the food was out of this world! The strip steak was good, but nothing special. The tartare, Caesar salad, scallops and dessert were all fantastic. The server was very nice, but not at all attentive. We waited a substantial amount of time between table visits and waiting for the check - felt as if we were forgotten about a few times during the course of the night.

Hard to find parking. Great ambiance, incredibly renovated historic building. And a wonderful server. Didn't realize it's attached the nearby hotel, so it sort of feels like it's a hotel restaurant. However, the food was moderately tasty for their prices. The sides were almost non-existent. Perhaps we ordered the wrong items. Probably won't visit here again, sadly.

Food was surprisingly good, and the service was excellent. The only problem is the place is just freezing cold. Our whole table wore winter parkas the entire time. I wouldn't recommend going in the winter.

Appetizers came out right away but then waited WAY too long for our entrees. Probably another 45 minutes. Waiter forgot to bring the ceaser salad for 4 and we had to remind him we ordered it. Do it finally came when we were done eating our meals. It was 9:30pm and only 3 other tables in the restaurant….

My first time here at Woodie Fisher and the food was great. We had the steak tartare, the Shishido peppers and the beet salad for starters. They were excellent shareable dishes. My friend had the burger and said it was delicous too. I ordered the scallops and they were seared nicely and I loved the bed of potatoes that were prepared scallop style but with diced potates...very yummy. Will definitely be back as they had other items I would like to try. We had great service too from Mia and she was super attentive and helpful!!
