We, Tokyo Ichiban Foods, started our business in the restaurant industry. We continue to pursue serving quality food that will delight our guests, and we cherish our relationship with them. Today, pivoting from our strong origin, we are also expanding our scope of business to aqua-farming, seafood processing and distribution.
We oversee the process through professional culinary eyes, from when the fish is cultivated until it is served to our guests. This allows us to build a sustainable and traceable system that will lead to higher customer satisfaction.
Japanese cuisine is blessed with opulent nature from both the mountains and the sea, which brings us rich seafood. Our wish is to bring quality seafood and Japanese food culture to the world, making the global food culture even richer and stronger.

This was first time. The menu is extensive so takes a bit of time to digest. Started with the happy hour sake which was very nice and an ample pour. Note that it jumps up $10 more after happy hour over. We started with mixed vegetables tempura which had a nice array of veggies. Then got amberjack and jumbo shrimp sashimi and rolls of spicy himachi and salmon avocado. All were excellent. Professional friendly server. Ambiance doesn’t scream Japanese. More nautical New England in our area.

I had omakase a month prior to this visit which was very good. This time I shared a rice bowl with salmon and salmon skin which was bland and the salmon, which was supposed to be seared, was overdone. The hamachi with jalepeno was delicious and my friends Chilean sea bass very good. So mixed results this time.

We are from Chicago, we come for work sometimes and we found this gem. They take such good care of us whether we are sitting at the bar or a table. Last night we walked into their tuna auction without planning it, and we had the best dining experience either one of us have had. Ivan the bartender was amazing, and we feel like we got exceptional value. We won the tuna, and tried their different kinds of Sake. We love Wokuni!

Roni was an excellent server, making appropriate and interesting recommendations. And always attentive. And smiling. And pleasant. The food quality and freshness was very very good. Portion size was also sensible. And the ambiance was nice, peaceful with a modestly interesting buzz. I’m a huge fan!

Wonderful omakase experience! I went alone as I was up on a business trip. For the price, I felt it was a really great deal. The fish was as fresh as I’ve had in NYC, and the courses and amount of food far exceeded expectations. I had mapped out a late night pub to get a second meal (you know how light these meals can sometimes be!) but definitely didn’t need it. Left full and satisfied. Service was spectacular. The gentleman helping me at the back sushi bar anticipated my needs and was proactive and attentive without being overbearing. Fantastic job!

We always have wonderful time when we go to the restaurant. The waiter always recommends us what is fresh and give us great suggestions. The sashimi melts in your mouth. Great quality of food!.

One the 4 or 5 Michelin rated sushi joint in NYC, yet completely overlooked. Made me think twice about posting a review, I’d hate to think of not getting a table here, ever! Truly off the charts good! Fish flown in fresh from Tokyo almost daily! It’ll cost you, but worth every penny. Glad I’m a regular!!!

Service was poor. Clearly staff chose who to serve well and who not to serve well. Staff were more concerned about leaving on time than offering service (we had 8pm reservation, and closing was 10 pm). Noise level made conversation nearly impossible due to the yelling of the diners next door who had to overcome the loud choice of ambient music. All not surprising when considering we just returned from Japan and became accustomed to basic courtesy. This was the second time we experienced this level of service at Wokuni.

This restaurant lives up to its reviews! The tuna is the best I’ve ever had. And everything is fresh and the presentation is gorgeous.

2nd visit and the food was delicious and perfectly prepared and presented, yet again. The hostess and the wait staff were helpful, pleasant and knowlegeable.

Delicious fish, good value, and a great vibe -- it's a cheerful place. My only quibble is that my friend and I were unattended for 15-20 minutes at a time; perhaps the waiters have too many tables to cover? All that said, I'll return.

Speaking as a Taiwanese who had Japanese food since I was a kid. The food quality is on par with the finest back home. Neighborhood hidden gem.
