    Unfortunately, our experience at Willie G’s was not what we had hoped for. We made the reservation for our anniversary dinner on a trip away. We arrived early to have a drink and checked in with the hostess. We were alerted that tables were running behind and it had pushed even reservations back. No problem. We sat at the bar to grab a drink, but it was not at all cleaned or wiped when we sat down. After we had been there a bit, someone did come get it cleaned up for us. At our actual reservation time, I checked in with the hostess again. She told me they were still behind and didn’t have any idea when we would be able to be seated. Thirty minutes after our reservation time, we left, still without having been contacted about being seated. We understand things happen and places get backed up. For a Saturday night in a tourist town, it didn’t feel like they were prepared or able to serve what was expected. It was certainly not an atmosphere I would have described as fine dining, and the service we experienced was not that of an upscale steakhouse.

    Always like this place . Great view of water dock Galveston. Ine of these days we will sit outside on patio when not too hot. Service food drinks always top notch.

    We had stopped by Willie G's in the morning and enjoyed a Mimosa and one of the shrimp appetizers. It was so good that we decided to make a dinner reservation on the spot! The food was wonderful, although the Lobster Bisque and Gumbo arrived lukewarm. The other items we selected were really good, and though our server was a little slow on refills, and initially getting to our table, she did a good job overall.

    Found a hair in my clam chowder. Sent it back. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and I made a note on my reservation about it and they did not do anything for it. Really upset about that. Food was sub par for the price. We were eaten alive by mosquitoes on the patio. Drinks felt cheap. Inside smelled like bad fish. White table cloth look, but people are in athletic wear and beach clothing.

    Everything was great! My steak came back not at what I ordered but they were quick to correct it and very apologetic. Service was great and timely. We sat on the patio and it was lovely. Will be back.
