Seated in the grandeur of Peacock Alley, amongst the elegant sounds of the harp, Willard's traditional Afternoon Tea offers a tempting array of savory sandwiches, decadent pastries, and teas.

Afternoon Tea at Willard InterContinental Washington, D.C. takes place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with two seatings available at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Afternoon Tea makes for an elegant way to celebrate a special occasion. Contact willardtea@ihg.com for more information for groups of ten and more.

Lovely afternoon tea in corridor of gorgeous hotel. “Sandwiches” tasty - although more like canapés than proper sandwiches. Two scones and plenary of desserts. Shame that we weren’t provided with hot water to top up teapot from start. I asked for more tea, but only had hot water added then - too late. No new tea provided. Quite pricey but a lovely treat

I was shocked by the quality of food served, especially for the price charged. All of the savories were obviously made far in advance, which meant that the breads, pastry, etc were incredibly soggy. In addition, the filings were nothing special. The scones were good, but not exceptional. The pastries suffered the same fate as the savory bites - they had been sitting far too long and were soggy. I very recently had afternoon tea at the Park Hyatt, and it was amazing the difference between the two. Park Hyatt was fabulous. The Willard tea was mediocre at best. I was expecting so much more.

Overpriced. Felt extremely rushed. The service and food were both average. Highly recommend the Saint Regis over this experience.

The service was perfect. Our server gave us space and showed up at perfect times; we never had to ask for him. The food was yummy and my mother loved her tea. I recommend getting the champagne as it adds a greater experience and fine touch to it all.

The tea and accompaniments were delicious, and the servers and surroundings made it an elegant, memorable experience. My husband and I loved it! Also, the harpist was wonderful and unobtrusive; we had fun identifying the pieces she was playing - a wide repertoire. Well done, The Willard!

The room is lovely, and we were amused at the harpist’s rendition of a rock classic. The tea and food were very nice, but the service was rushed and the waiter, harried. Not worthy of the very steep price (forgive the pun).

We had a great birthday celebration. The champagne, tea, and food was great! We will return for special occasions!

We arrived a bit early but were seated promptly. Service was excellent, staff was very friendly and knowledgable. The tea and food were absolutely delicious. The ambiance and decorations of the alley were beautiful. And really enjoyed the harpist, nice touch to really set the mood. I plan on coming back.
