Wild Caddis, is the fine dining restaurant at the Rainbow Ranch Lodge.

It’s known that a great meal is an experience that involves all of the senses. Wild Caddis is proud to offer world-class Montana ranch-to-table cuisine, originating from the finest and freshest products available. We use the highest quality, fresh, locally grown, and conscientiously raised products from regional producers, which help inspire us to create culinary and visual masterpieces.

Wild Caddis dining is rustic-modern, relaxed, but refined, with unsurpassed views of the majestic Gallatin River running by the lodge. House-made specialties such as duck prosciutto smoked bacon, and house-cured salamis are enhanced by our award-winning wine list and hand-crafted, barrel-aged cocktails in an environment as inviting as its Big Sky Country backdrop.

My husband and I enjoyed an amazing meal at Wild Caddis! Chef Tony's food was delicious, the service was top notch, and the wine selection was out of this world!

Lovely setting, elegant rustic interior. We were the only table at 5:15. Service was ok, could have been more attentive. I had the beef bourguignon app for my entree and it was so salty that I sent it back and it came back the same. They knew it was my daughter’s b’day and did nothing to acknowledge it.

Rustic casual dining with solid food but a little overpriced on the salads, which contained nothing to elevate them over a $10 salad. The chicken dish was excellent; the ribeye was nicely cooked, but both fillets were overdone (were supposed to be medium rare). Very extensive wine selection and good cocktails. We were celebrating a birthday, which was indicated on the reservations, but there was no mention of it by the staff. Had to find our server to check out (not her fault) even though there was only one other table, because she was also manning the front desk and phones. I would recommend, but with a little more attention to detail this could have been a better overall experience.

The restaurant at Rainbow Ranch is the best in the area. The menu includes creative dishes and the chef delivers. We always go away feeling we had a great dinner, though not cheap! Service is excellent and the historic ranch is delightful to visit.

We were skeptical when we arrived at Wild Caddis as it is located in a hotel right by the highway We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in- we were received with a nice greeting, the dining room was welcoming and simple, the waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Most of all though the food was excellent. We started out with a pork belly over risotto appetizer and a simple red beet and hazelnut salad both of which were delicious. Next we had Bison New York strip which came perfectly cooked medium rare with fresh roasted carrots and the requested Pommes Dauphinois as a substitute for sweet potatoes which I don’t like. The lamb rack was one of the best my husband claims he ever had and it came with carrot batons and a nice gratin of rutabaga and celery root. We couldn’t help but end with a desert , chocolate pot de crème which was fluffy and flavorful, covered with a crunchy crust and whipped cream and fresh fruit (one of the best I ever had) and a wine poached pear with vanilla ice cream and cookie and hazelnut crumble Overall I can highly recommend this restaurant - the best dinner we had around big sky!

When it’s $70 a steak the bar has to go up. Most of my party were served medium-well when they ordered medium. Those who ordered rare were happy enough with their medium rare. Place felt like it was trying to be upscale (menu choices, pricing, invitations to visit the cellar) but missing the mark on delivery. Was better in the past, probably won’t return.

The Wagyu Ribeye that you ordered off our dinner menu in the bar, is one of our most expensive entrees and it's important that it meets our guests expectation. This is a very expensive restaurant , the French onion soup was great! The small plate of Bisson was very well prepared with complex flavors and depth. It is a small restaurant service was fine .

Beautiful setting, bar and friendly staff. Nice wine selection. However food was 100% not worth the price. I couldn't even cut my flank steak it was so tough and had no favor at all. Duck was sub par and Ribeye was soaked in cream spinach. Kudos to the mgmt though for making it right.

At Wild Caddis we experienced excellent cocktails before dinner, though they took a bit longer than expected to arrive. The soup and main course were excellent. The bison dish was outstanding, as were the brussell sprouts.

The food was excellent. The waitress was working the entire dining room by herself and service took a long time. Scallops were amazing, red dear special phenomenal, salads great too.

Food was excellent, but quirky staff. They may have been short-handed (the bartender was our waiter) and restaurant would benefit from management and staff to be at the level of the food, since it is so high priced, customers expect more at that price point than just great food.

Upon arrival there was no clear direction on were to park or what entrance to utilize. When we got in the place was beautiful but very quiet. We did expect that just being the time of year. The service was friendly but she clearly was not familiar with the menu and we had many awkward interactions throughout. The menu sounded great with some old classics but we came to find out everything was cheap product made to look fancy. The plates were loaded with items that just needed to be done properly. My New York steak came out sliced a million times and bleeding all over the plate into a pile of Luke warm creamed spinach and hard rainbow carrots. My wife's Lobster Newburg was nothing like the classic and was rubbery. There were a couple of highlights. The French Onion and the lentil salad were nice as well as the chocolate Gelato dessert. We had high hopes and were really looking forward to an enjoyable birthday dinner. Rainbow Ranch has always had such a great reputation over the years, I hope they can get back to it.

Service was extremely slow …. It took approx 15 minutes to get our dinner drinks (glass of wine) … Management needs to find a solution to this problem; there were only 5 tables being occupied while we were dining!

On the positive side, the setting is Beautiful, especially outside on the deck, the food was delicious and well presented. However... - the service was not in any way commensurate with the rest of the experience: items we ordered were forgotten, she neglected to tell us that there was meat in a seafood dish even after we explained that this customer in our party was pescetarian, and the level of professionalism was on par with what you would expect at TGI Fridays; - there were too many items from the menu that were not available (their only vegetarian dish, and several of their "featured" beers); - we were seated outside on the deck, which was lovely, but after we sat for a few minutes, we realized that the chair cushions were still wet from a previous rain, and the moisture seeped into our pants (ugh!); This all would have been unfortunate in a "normal" restaurant, but at an establishment where 5 of the 7 menu items are over $70, we were quite disappointed.

To start the waiter asked what I wanted to drink. I ordered a glass of wine and he went to get it without asking anyone else at the table what they wanted. ??? We had the steak & frite which came very salty. I had the veal chop which was ok but had no seasoning. The waiter put the plates down and disappeared when the chop needed salt & pepper and there was none. think the entrees were way over priced for the quality and service was very poor. The place itself was very nice.

Always on of my favorites when in town. The Manager was outstanding with his wine knowledge and over personal Service. Our server Mia and bartenders were outstanding!!! This is always in the top 3 of places to visit when in town ~ highly suggest!!!

The food was good but very expensive. One of the specials cost $100. The service was poor. Our waitress had little knowledge of the food on the menu. She spent 20 minutes talking with her friends at another table. We couldn’t catch her attention to get our bill and had to walk to the front door and hotel manager so that we could pay up and leave.

Slow service and I mean really slow. Way overpriced given the average quality of the food. A real stinker!
