Get the oysters, mussels&clams, hake ceviche, and whitefish satay with peanut sauce. Shoestring potatoes and bufala cheese&tomato salad rounded out our dinner for three. Delicious!

Portions are very small but entremeto tasty. Salón tartare was delicious.

We made a reservation for dinner since we had been to many locals pubs. We wanted a quiet dinner with good seafood. White Horse provided just that! Relaxing nautical ambience. The oysters were delicious. I highly recommend the Scotch Egg as well. We shared the Mussels and Clams and had 2 orders of charred sourdough bread to dip in the amazing broth. I all but drank it from the bowl! Great wine selection. The highlight. however, was our delightful server, Karolina! What a gem! Best service ever!

Good and fresh seafood but very expensive and VERY highly priced. For example, 3 medium scallops for 18 pounds. Service was not only bad but inept. Despite 4 servers passing by our table repeatedly, took 20 minutes to get our drinks delivered and one of our small plates was not delivered until we reminded our waiter and he had to reorder it. Our second round of drinks never arrived and so we gave up ordering additional small plates. Had to ask repeatedly for the check. Left hungry and considerably poorer for our experience. Much, much better restaurants exist in Edinburgh- give this one a pass.

High priced and the food was terrible. The seafood platter for two people; was 120 pounds. A bunch of mussels, 4 scallops, and a split small lobster. Ridiculous. The bread was good. The whole thing was worth about 10 pounds. maybe…..I left my sunglasses in the middle of the table and they didn’t have them the next day. Of course they didn’t. Not only was the food bad but their employee integrity is lacking. Definitely a place to avoid.

Poor experience. Shown to our table which we had booked in advance. Ordered cocktails then waited over 20 mins and still no drinks. Guests who had arrived later than us were served. After 30 mins we asked a waitress where our cocktails were….she went and checked. Told they were being made now. Simple cocktail 2 Martinis! They eventually arrived at the sane time as our food order. To add insult when we received our bill we were charged for an additional bottle of wine which we hadn’t ordered. We pointed this out and our bill was reduced by 50%. The restaurant wasn’t busy so no excuse for the error. If you dine here check your bill. Second time we’ve been to the White Horse. What a difference since Sept 23. Food and service not what it was. We won’t be going back. Shame

The food was outstanding, fresh and nicely presented. It’s a little pricey, but that’s to be expected in a tourist town. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Half empty though one table of six obviously friends of the staff getting good service other tables including us rather ignored. Food much lower quality than in the past. One guy working hard but clearly overwhelmed. Not good.
