In June 1896, the trolley system that linked St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, Aurora, and Elgin, IL began to offer service to local citizens. Overhead wires that ran along the track supplied the power to the single, open-air cars.

The trolley came from South Elgin and traveled along the east side of the river, through the St. Charles Country Club and along Route 25. From Main Street, it went west, crossed over the bridge, and turned south on 3rd Street to go to Geneva.

It was at this last turn that conductors would stop the trolley and allow passengers to disembark for a quick drink to warm up during the winter months. Welcome back to Whiskey Bend.

We always have a good time at WB. They do need to get a handle on their reservations - the last two times I’ve been there have been snags. The first time they never text us when a table was ready - we waited patiently for over an hour and a half even though it was supposed to be a 45 minute wait when we put our name in. They only realized we were still waiting when I asked if a table had opened up. The second time the table wasn’t ready and we had to wait again and the party at our supposed reserved table never left. We ended up with a table but it was a + 20 minute wait. What’s the point of making a reservation if it isn’t honored? But an easy fix so no worries - we will be back.

We love Whiskey Bend! The atmosphere is definitely one of the best in the Fox Valley. Food and service always top notch.

My mom & I came here for Mother’s Day - we sat out on the back patio since it was such a nice day & the area was so nice! Not loud at all & it was just an overall nice place to relax with some food & drinks. We started with the bruschetta - this was different than a typical bruschetta, it had goat cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes - but it was really good! (we are goat cheese lovers though) We also had the chicken & pancakes (part of the brunch menu) & the short rib grilled cheese with brussel sprouts. Everything was super great! I ordered a cocktail (cannot remember the name) but it had pineapple & rum in it, which was amazing. I would definitely recommend coming here & we cannot wait to come back!

Food was good. Selection for the charcuterie board was disappointing. They had to be reminded we were there to celebrate a birthday. Service was slow and they were not busy. Just not interested in serving new people or parties of three.

Atmosphere was great - we sat on patio. Waitress was fantastic. Drinks were good. White fish was not good. Salty and not great quality. Will definitely go back for drinks

We had Brie as a server- she was great!! Food was very good! Had the 222 burger and zucchini fries- yummy!!

I made a reservation using this app several days before our confirmed time. When we got to the restaurant a few minutes before our scheduled reservation, no table was ready. No one apologized, and no one made sure we were taken care of. We waited for a table to open that took over an hour. Not sure why there is a reservation system if, they don’t save the tables for those that reserve them.

Very slow service. Food was just off. 1 decent meal out of the three we ordered.

Food was good. A bit loud (hard to talk). Martinis were rather small for the price. Overall, a good experience.
