As demonstrated by my star distribution: the restaurant is amazing on provided food, but the ambient is 1 star. Very bad washrooms, loud, and they have not decided if they are a sports bar or a nice restaurant. We are not going back.

Yaletown has a lot of really great dining experiences and West Oak is at the top of the list. Food is always terrific and their staff is very friendly and attentive. Greg was our server this time and took care of our table. They also have the best Happy Hour in Yaletown and it goes until 6pm!

Came back the 2nd time after an amazing service from Chef Martin & the BOH team from our 1st visit last month. Fabulous service by Kentish, our server and the lovely Chef Martin! Definitely recommend sitting at the kitchen bar for an interactive dining experience! We love the prawn & calamari appies as well their cookie dessert (definitely add on a scoop of ice cream to fully indulge!) 10/10 recommend! ❤️

Prompt and courteous service, and the food was very nice, and I ordered the steak, which for a place that is not a steakhouse was very well cooked. Ambiance and the environment was great.

Food and service never disappoints. There was no valet service, disappointingly, and as you know parking is a nightmare. The noise level is loud because the music is set for a nightclub and not a restaurant, so everyone has to shout to be heard, we couldn’t clearly make out what our server was saying or explaining, not her fault at all, but there has to be a level of comfort both for guests and staff. This would deter me from going again.

Absolutely love coming coming here. Ken, my server, is my man! I had him probably 3 times now as my waiter. He is always so cool and friendly. I come for happy hour all the time and he never makes me feel inferior for coming only for happy hour. I love their burger, and my SO loves the mussels and fries. It's not the cheapest place, but it is unbeatable in taste and great service. I wish I can come more often, but it is getting pricey to eat out in general. 18% tip is the standard now. I want to give Ken more tip to tell him that he is doing a great job, but ordering 2 drinks, 1 appy, 2 entries is like $100, every percent is a dollar.

Food and service was fantastic and well priced. We got seated on the patio, without requesting it. Would have preferred inside or to be asked if we were okay with the patio. Definitely want to come back and sit inside!

Our server was conscientious and our food was excellent! I had the ling cod which was melt in your mouth and super flavorful. My friend had the salmon and she said it was the best she ever had!!!

Great place for amazing food. The ambience is perfect for a date or group get together. Mine and my friends' usual go to spot. Unfortunately, we've all noticed that the service has gone down hill! The servers used to be extremely friendly and nice. These days, they seem to have an attitude. Not sure what's happened. Go for the food and ambience. Be prepared for unfriendly service.

My daughter and I shared the Dine Out Lamb and Ribeye meals. Enjoyed the ribeye and mashed potatoes but the lamb shank had a spice that wasnt as appealing. Prawn appetizer only had 3 prawns. Too bad there wasnt an alternative to the dessert choices that were gluten free. Were given ice cream as a 65th birthday dessert alternative : ( For the price we would have expected something more outstanding Nice to come on a Tuesday when the ambience was quiet.

The Dine Out is a taste of what is offered. The prawns are exquisite. Salmon cooked perfectly. The chocolate cookie spectacular. When ordering a glass of wine on Happy hour menu please specify Happy hour glass of wine. Our server Jason was excellent

I am a repeat diner. Never disappointed. Went recently for a friends’ birthday. Perfect spot since you can get all day breakfast from 11-3. Don’t walk, run!

It was our first time dining at West Oak. We took part in Dine Out Vancouver. Great food! We had the garden salad, Maui ribs, risotto, salmon, key Lime pie and cookie dessert. Everything was tasty and not overly filling. A few minutes after we were sat down, we were asked if it was OK to move us to another table to accommodate a larger party. We were more than willing. We were surprised with a couple of drinks. That was kind of them. Our server, Jason was so efficient and friendly! He provided awesome service, and he was super busy with his section. You would not have known because he was so calm and kind the entire time. As soon as we would finish a dish he would immediately be at our table cleaning it off and refilling our drinks or replacing cutlery. We had a pleasurable experience! Thank you :)

The food was amazing and so tasty. We got the tomahawk platter and it was outstanding. Of course we ended the night with their famous fresh baked cookies. West Oak is one of my favourite restaurants. Thank you to the chefs as well, they were so friendly from behind the counter. Great job you guys! :)

The food, for the most part, was average, which did not match the cost. For example, the kale that accompanied both types of risotto was terrible. It was like putting warm, wet paper in your mouth. Zero flavor and soggy. The gnocchi that came with the catch of the day was not enjoyable. The gnocchi was tough, and the sauce could not be identified- but it was not nice and indeed not a good pairing with fish!

we were there for New Year's Eve dinner, we had lamb chops, beef tenderloin, and ribeye, they were all very good. We had cookies for dessert and they were freshly baked, very nice Our server was very friendly, we had a good time

We were seated quickly. The drinks came fast and the main course soon after. Chicken dish was good and market price ling cod was delicious. However, dishes tasted similar to what you would get at similar priced restaurants like Earls so Value-wise was okay.

One of my go-to places for happy hour. Food and drinks are consistent and service is great! Opt for the outside area - it’s beautiful when the weather is good and warm and cozy (heated) in the colder months. I have a vegan friend who joins me for happy hour from time to time and they always accommodate her requirements/request as well!
