Westerns Laundry is a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant focusing on seafood & natural wines. The restaurant is located in the Islington/Highbury neighbourhood of North London. It opened in 2018 and is housed in a 1950's industrial building which used to be home to the largest commercial laundry in North London. It now boasts a beautiful 60 cover dining room, which opens onto an open 20 cover cobbled courtyard with olive trees as well as an intimate private dining room. Westerns Laundry has won numerous awards for excellence and originality and is a firm favourite on the London dining scene.

Expensive small plates .. . Food was over-seasoned. Loved the cool and trendy building and atmosphere but left feeling disappointed and ripped off.

Stylish, energetic, calming and delicious. Start to finish Westerns is a wonderful experience. Knowledge and a pride to share that knowledge from the staff and whole team. A real treat.

I hadn't been to Westerns Laundry in an age, with my last visit pre pandemic I think. Unfortunately the weather was still a little too chilly to eat Al Fresco in their courtyard, but we were seated at the counter and had a wonderful view of the restaurant and kitchen. We were welcomed into the restaurant which made us feel at home and service was nice and attentive. We enjoyed Crab, Asparagus, Polenta and the standout was a Pork Dish which was phenomenal. Dessert was on point too. I really can't fault anything and have left looking forward to going to Primeur when the suns out and the garage doors are opened.

Went for a lovely pre-game meal before taking in an Arsenal match. Very nice, relaxed neighbourhood spot. Pork ragout in a bed of creamy polenta was top-notice. Dinner, a Negroni and a glass of wine came to $45. Very reasonable price for London.

Unusual and delicious menu of sharing plates in a lovely dining room with an outside terrace. The service was outstanding both for its knowledge of dishes and recommendations of wine and for its charm. A diamond in the rough!

A really excellent hidden find in Drayton park. Lovely and interesting food and wine, top service and a lovely ambiance. Would highly recommend for a fun evening out.

We love this restaurant and have been a few times. It’s always excellent with a wide range of small plates that change regularly. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. It does get loud the later you go but it’s got a great vibe. The standout dish this time was rabbit with snails - was not something I’d notice eat but I loved it! Go - you won’t regret it.

The food was honestly so bland. Every dish we had was unseasoned and lacked flavour. The entire lemon sole (£40) was so boring we had to ask for lemon and salt, which took about 10 minutes to come after we asked for it. Service was generally very slow. It took them 25 minutes to take our food order as they simply ignored us after we got there. For the price we paid (60 a head, which included a beer and vermouth spritz, which was both lacking vermouth and spritz), it was incredibly disappointing. Won’t be returning.

On the basis of the food we actually tasted, 5* would have been fair but because the most attractive dish on the menu (cod) had run out by 6pm I decided to mark this down to 4* initially. Then because we saw a curly haired chef eating off a spoon and plunging the same spoon back into the pot for a stir, WL loses another star to get 3* overall. Now I'm wondering what goes on in kitchens I can't see into. Not a great evening for confidence in the catering industry.

Westerns Laundry never disappoints. Beautiful atmosphere, the most delicious wine. We had cod with lentils which was great and duck pastilla with dates and olives, a bit too salty for our liking but amazingly cooked duck. Thank you.

Beautiful start to finish - such a gorgeous setting with lovely ambiance and staff. Food was incredible - only thing I was disappointed in was not being able try the lamb Wellington because it had sold out!!

Have been coming here for years but not been for over 6 months (as it's not that close to me) so great to see that the food is still outstanding and as good as ever. About the best restaurant I know. Would go at least once a month if it was nearer to me. Everything on the blackboard menu is amazing so it's always worth trying things you might not normally go for. Good to see the oysters back.

We were made very comfortable during our meal. I asked ahead if we could have a booth and the waitress on duty arranged that for us which was hugely appreciated. The food was delicious and felt special (without breaking the bank). The restaurant also has a very pleasant atmosphere. A really good find!

A seductive cocktail of candle lit perfection. Long tables, small plates, bitter-sweet negroni's, dazzling staff and beautiful patrons. Didn't want it to end.
