Noise level is always an issue here. Poor acoustics design. The octopus appetizer is a must but a bit overpriced. The entrees were excellent. Side of fries is always a good choice.

We came to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent. The calamari appetizer was very good. The shrimp scampi entree was delicious, including the pasta. Service was excellent, cordial and attentive. The only fault I found was, in my opinion, the wines were overpriced. Yet, I would still come back to this restaurant. I do recommend it for seafood lovers.

This is probably one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I was impressed with the ambiance, the food, but more impressed with the service. Great place overall for families, work, friends and entertainment.

First time at the water grill. Absolutely wonderful. Our server was fabulous. He knew the menu and exactly what to recommend. The manager came over to say hello and was very friendly. We go there many times again. Can’t recommend it more highly.

The seafood selection is exceptional, the room is terrific, the service could not be better. We took my wife's 88-year-old, picky eater, mother out for a belated Mother's Day lunch and she was happy as a clam in sand (pun intended).

Thankfully we got a wonderful waiter who was very attentive and responsive. Management team was also great with checking in on us etc... The food last night was just ok however. I frequent the Water Grill in this location and various locations and the steak tasted a bit dry but overall the dining experience was very good and we enjoyed it.

Birthday lunch for my girlfriend and we had a nice booth on the window and shared poke, sushi roll and green salad which was perfect! Great service and fun birthday cookie cake with ice cream and candle!! Very nice. Plus free valet until 4:00!!!!

My wife and I both shared the the chilean sea bass and got sick last night. This was the one item our daughter did not eat and she was fine last night. Our meal at Water grill was the only thing I ate all day.. The food tasted fine, but there is no doubt it was the cause of the intestional distress. No raw sushi or oysters.

The vibe and ambience are amazing!! You are transported into a chic seaside paradise. Very friendly and welcoming service/staff. Excellent spot for celebrations!

The food here is delicious and the venue is brilliant. And the service is better than the food. Sam, Destino, Elisabeth, Andrea and Troy are all truly exception servers. They're the reason we always choose Water Grill first. It's a large venue with quite a few different settings for seating. In all, they are elegant, relaxed and comfortable. Most really good restaurants are hit and miss. We think we're regulars and Water Grill Costa Mesa has yet to ever be a miss. It's a pleasant experience sitting amongst the smells and action of everything going on around you. Do yourself a favor and learn to love oysters as an appetizer. We've been to quite a few of the Water Grill locations. Whilst all are exceptional, none compare to the experience at Water Grill Costa Mesa. It's perfect for a pre or post SCFTA performance.

Had an amazing Mother’s Day lunch. Fresh flowers on every table and amazing service helped make it special. The oysters were delicious and all of our meals fantastic! Can’t wait to go back!

Mother’s Day dinner; my wife’s halibut cheeks were overcooked; my Chilean Sea Bass was SO bland; my son’s Soba noodle Cod was good. The waitress was difficult to find, we needed Tabasco Sauce for the Oysters; waited and waited. The appetizer of the calamari was too greasy but the sourdough rolls were good. The problem was we couldn’t get a second serving. I think one issue was a waiter initially helped us, Caleb, but the female waitress took over; that transition from am to pm (waiters) was not working. Overall, not a good experience.

The waiter is very nice and tries all the best during the busy hour. The food is delicious, but size vs cost does not really match well.

We were a party of three but my wife and I arrived and told the mattress di we would wait for our guest. After waiting 15 min we decided to go to our table and wait there. Low and behold HE had been at the table all along waiting for us...wooopppss! OK, our server, Tyler, was awesome. POTBs for him always right there when we needed, never pressing us. Orders were exactly right. He recommended a wine we loved. Great job for everyone at WG.

One of our favorite restaurants. As usual great food and service. Only complaint is my wife and i were celebrating our 30 year wedding anniversary and they did not do anything for us and we mentioned it in reservation. Wife was kind of upset. No worries, we'll still return

Destino was an amazing waiter! He helped a lot with food suggestions and was overall such a nice guy. Overall the food was amazing and ambiance is so cool. Highly recommend!
