This is the first time we were disappointed with the Water Grill where we dine frequently. The oyster bar and its chef are fantastic. Usually the service is . , but this time, though they forgot to put the order in for one of the three of us at the table it took almost 30 extra minutes to get his meal, while our lobster got cold. the waiter never apologized, but I think it was the Manager came by to explain the problem. The waiter just said that they were not gonna charge our friend for his meal. It was his attitude that annoyed us. Nevertheless, we’ve been going to the Water Grill for years even when they were in Pasadena, I will continue to do so .

Nice place to have dinner! Incredible assortment of raw fish, sushi and shellfish food. Meat also. Very satisfying

Best seafood in DTLA. Always go there for graduation or other celebrations. Can’t beat the chilled seafood tower.

It’s always delightful having a meal at Water Grill. I’ve been coming here since they opened in 1989, and they never fail to disappoint. Highly recommended!

It’s very special as usual. Feels very comfortable with same servers and receptionists. Thank you very much Louis for taking care of our table. The chefs and kitchen staff are trained as professional cooks. All seafood are very fresh and tasty. Love this restaurant.

This has always been my go to restaurant when I want an adult meal. This time it was disappointing. The service was slow and the food was just ok. I am sorry to see their lower stabdards

We enjoyed our time there. It was our first time and enjoyed every minute. Cant remember our waiter's name. I believe it was jared. He was a true professional and gave us great recommendations for the food. Its a high end place so be prepared to spend money but its worth every penny.

As always, we enjoyed our luncheon. Only two comments this time. Both of us had Lobster Bisque which we both thought was too heavily salted. (And both of us tend to use the salt cellar at every meal.) The Ceasar salad was too lightly dressed and I would have liked crisper greens and more Parmesan. The table pepper grinder did not produce a coarse grind which I prefer. The sea bass was perfect and had a rich buttery texture. The Italian Pinot Gringo was outstanding and chilled nicely. See you again soon

Always an incredible experience at the Water Grill. This has become a fun family tradition anytime we go to downtown for a show or performance, we always stop by the Water Grill beforehand! Food is excellent and always fresh. Great service and lovely ambiance in the restaurant. Highly recommend for any type of occasion!

Outstanding food and service. Lexie and Christopher took great care of us. We had an issue with one entree and it was taken care of with the best possible care, speed, and concern. We had the raw platter, Black Cod, and Chilean Sea Bass. It was all fantastic.

Great cocktails and wine. The food was wonderful: from the calamari and Caesar salad to each of our entries (shrimp, scallops, tuna and fish and chips). The service was perfect and dessert amazing. We loved it all!!

Super fresh seafood. They even sell fish by the weight and charcoal grill for you. Great valet parking for $5 when you dine there.

This was one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time! Louis was our server, and he was the BEST! Very knowledgeable about the menu, and very personable! Made 3 great recommendations…the Spicy Lobster Roll, the Halibut Cheeks with fennel and the caramel Bread Pudding. They were all great! Charlotte, the manager, came by our table to check on us. She was also very personable. She told us that most of the staff had been there 12-20 years! Speaks highly for the way the restaurant is run! Loved our experience!

My experience was excellent from the very moment I waked in the door. The gentleman treated me first class. Even when we left. All fresh. My fave new spot 💯💯

The service was outstanding. Our waiter was gnarly, knowledgeable, and so nice and so helpful. But my daughter and I drink a lot of water and without even realizing it would just be filled every minute without us ever even needing to ask. Everything was also paste nicely so we weren’t rushed anyway, and you almost get a little bit hungry perfectly between courses. Everything was presented beautifully. my fish could’ve been served a little bit warmer to be honest, but it was fine enough that I didn’t need to say anything. Great restaurant all around. Highly recommend.

Chris took great care of us. He went above & beyond. Food was amazing! Sea Bass, Scallops, king crab legs, oysters & the homemade peanut butter ice cream were all spectacular!

We had the absolute best oysters to start and and a French Chablis. I had the grilled spiny lobster and it was delicious. I highly recommend it. My husband had the halibut fillet, it was good but not spectacular. The key lime pie was amazing. All in all, a wonderful meal.

Luis is a good server and we had the Florida snow crabs, Alaskan halibut, Brussel sprouts and wedge lettuce salad. the Halibut was fantastic. Luis was an attentive server and guided us in the menu selection. We were at the bar and there were a group of customers who were standing next to our table for half of our meal. they were a bit noisy.

One of DTLA’s great eateries. The sour dough rolls, sea bass, cioppino, the calamari, the octopus, the wedge salad, and the Key lime pie, were all perfection. As was the service.

We had an excellent experience at this restaurant. We received a warm greeting upon arrival. The seafood dishes were outstanding, though I found the beet salad's presentation impressive but its taste just okay. Despite not complaining, the waiter noticed I didn't finish it and graciously omitted it from the bill, which was a thoughtful gesture. The seafood dishes were exceptional. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I left a generous tip for the waiter. The staff were truly amazing.
