We had a really delicious dinner here in Ames. Our server was great. The quality and freshness of the food was really high and beautifully presented. Good cocktails, overall a very good experience we will go back.

I was very impressed with the quality of the food served. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food, especially the sushi.

We had a large group with a reservation, and even though the place was busy on a Friday night we were seated immediately. Service was fast, food and drinks were amazing. Definitely try the veggie spring rolls, the Brussels sprouts, and all the vegan rolls! My only criticism is parking—none available in the lot! It’s such an amazing restaurant and so popular I could see them moving to a bigger location soon. 100 percent recommend.

Delicious sushi! Server was a sweetheart. The restaurant was clean and has a wonderful atmosphere. My only negative would be that for our circumstances the service was too quick. Wish we would have had more time for our celebration dinner. However we sure should never complain about good quick service!

The people who left negative reviews made me aware to not be in a hurry which I was not. Also made me aware the parking lot was too small. But why go out and be in hurry. First off we were patient finding parking. The host and waiter were so very nice and we had appetizers, entrées and dessert ! Mixed drinks too! Everything was FABULOUS!!! I am sorta picky and I am allergic to gluten. The atmosphere was fun and it was not noisy. I will go there again! Tip if you’re meeting people maybe carpool to the restaurant from the parking lot at the shopping just 5 minutes down the road. We found parking right away but the lot is too small for the amount of people that can fit inside! Plus there is people picking up carry out. But the place is worth the efforts! Bon appétit

We left without getting our meal! We ordered apps and our meal, we received our apps within about 15 minutes but 40 minutes after that we were still waiting on our main meals. After a quick chat with the server we asked for the manager and he said it would be another 15 - 20 minutes. WHAT! We had a 7:00 show to be at. The manager offered to box it up for us. No! So we cancelled our meals and left. I asked the manager how we can avoid this in the future b/c we had allotted an hour and a half for dinner and his response was "don't come on prom night" I have no idea when proms are! We had made reservations 5 days ahead of time because this was supposed to be a special night out as a family. VERY disappointed. Chick-fil-A for the win after the show!!!

This was our second dinner at Wasabi, both times it took at least 45-60 minutes for the food to arrive at the table after the order was taken by waitstaff. In both visits, the server shared that the kitchen was backed up. If you have to be somewhere at a specific time, be sure to allow for a slow kitchen. The sushi is worth the visit. Spicy entrees were very mild. If you enjoy spice and expect spice, let the waitstaff know your preference.

Excellent food which of course leads to it being crazy busy and loud. Be sure to make reservations. We had a group of 4 so just ordered a bunch of stuff following our server’s recommendation. Can’t think of anything we didn’t like.
