Beautiful location with ambiance to spare. Unique menu options you don’t see at every restaurant alone make it worth a try. The wine heights are a great spin on an old feature which allow you to sample different selections, grouped together for a reason at an affordable cost. Bar has amazing options.however was very slow on an evening with a lot of empty tables. No hesitation to recommend The Wandering Vine.

I have been following The Wandering Vine on IG for quite some time, eagerly awaiting a special event so we could go. Mother’s Day was it! My husband and I chose to go to dinner the night before instead of fighting crowds for brunch. Exceeded our expectations! The place is absolutely gorgeous—inside and out. We chose the patio because the weather was perfect. The owner sat us, chatted a bit, and directed us to the back of the menu where the history of the building was outlined. Loved learning about that! Our server was fantastic! Attentive, witty, friendly and very knowledgeable. She promptly advised me of my available menu selections as I’m GF. Lots of options so no worries for those who have restrictions. My husband had a red wine flight and I chose the ‘Princess’ cocktail— very good! My husband ordered the filet mignon and I had the pork chop. It’s huge so I have a second meal in the fridge! Fabulous food and experience! Definitely returning. I must try brunch!

Excellent restaurant. Great service and very creative menu that is well executed. Sat on the patio and it was first class. Great restaurant for celebrating special occasions too.

Food was fantastic, we had the fried olives and potato crusted halibut! Sat outside on the patio, beautiful patio and flowers. Great wine selection. I look forward to dining there again!

One of a kind for a date night celebration. You won''t forget having dined here. It is beautiful and totally unique. I am so glad they saved this beautiful castle. The outdoor courtyard is stunning as well.

The Wandering Vine is my favorite place to go in the KC metro for fine dining. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. You won’t find a better meal in the Kansas City area. If you want flowers for your date, they create them in house as that is another one of the owner’s specialties. Carla makes amazingly beautiful arrangements. If you’re entertaining your significant other or hosting to impress, this is the place you want to take them!

We were lucky with the weather and were able to sit outside by the Wednesday night guitar player. Very nice wine, dinner and music.

A great destination place. Brought family and friends from Chicago to the Castle. They were totally impressed and commented Chicago has nothing on this restaurant and will definitely return.

We really enjoyed our brunch visit. We had the garden Benedict and the southwest Benedict. The southwest hollandaise sauce was a little spicy but still very good. Thanks for a wonderful visit. -Matt

We had an excellent evening with great food and service and live music of Max Heter. It is was an enjoyable evening on the patio, as the weather was perfect. We would highly recommend.

Another phenomenal dinner at Wandering Vine! We hadn’t been in almost a year, but our server remembered us and our daughter, and made sure we had the best experience. The focaccia bread service was delicious, as were the potato chip-encrusted halibut and verde tagliatelle (using olives in the pesto was a surprising and brilliant move). The lavender lemonade was next-level amazing. We look forward to coming back year after year!

Overall, the food was very good but my wife's lamb chop was undercooked to where it was raw in some parts. The service was not good as they only had one person taking care of the area that we were in; and she did not do a great job of checking in with us. When it came time to order dessert, she told us what was available and the left for 5-10 minutes before taking our order for the dessert. The place is pretty, but it is not a castle. We were disappointed with how the inside looked as it did not look like a castle of any sort from the inside. Even though the food was delicious, our visit was not worth the time or cost to eat at this restaurant. We waited for almost an hour to get our food after ordering. We most likely will nit be going back as the experience of eating here was not worth it.

We were greeted by the owner who was quite gracious about our party including a 14 month old!. Mark was an exceptional waiter and the prime rib special for Easter was amazing. You MUST have the cinnamon roll for a brunch “appetizer”. All in our party had been there for dinner but not brunch. We will be back!

The food was warm, not hot. The steak was to be medium but came out very medium rare and very salty. Should have sent it back but didn’t. Lobster soup was good. Mussels were nice. Wine list is large, but limited California, Oregon, Australian wine.

We celebrated our anniversary dinner last night and had the best meal and service. Highly recommend and will be returning. The owner stopped by our table to check on us and brought us an anniversary flower. Super thoughtful. I had the Pork Milanese and Brussels sprout salad, delicious. My husband had the filet perfectly cooked and the Caesar salad. For starters, we had the Blue Crab Canapé, outstanding.

Everything from the moment we walked in to the moment we left was superb. The food and service is top notch. The wines are excellent. I have never had a meal that was less than amazing. Highly recommend

We had a wonderful evening at Wandering Vine. Dining in the castle, gave it a very special ambience. The food was exquisite and we really enjoyed our server very much. It is a pricey restaurant, but we consider it to be worth it for the very highest level of fine dining and Iambience. We enjoyed the wine flights, and again our food was really outstanding !Can’t wait to try the patio this summer.

Well to start off this was a reservation for my wife’s birthday. We arrived a little early thinking it would be fine to sit at the bar and try some tastings. Since we were early the members of the party that smoked had a cigarette prior to going inside. Instead of being greeted warmly upon arrival we got a very cold reception seemingly due to smoking. Clearly being early (despite the venue opening at 11am) to enjoy a tasting was an inconvenience to the staff. After being sat and waiting for the kitchen to open we ordered to small plates to start us off. The mini charcuterie board was listed as having 3 cheeses, we only were served 2. Upon pointing this out to our server, she ignored the fact that we were shorted food by the kitchen. After much debate among the party dining with a restaurant that shorts you food, a server that explains all the things on the charcuterie board came from Aldi, and the entire experience ruins by the staff’s horrendous ability to act as hosts we left. My party drove to this establishment from Omaha, to enjoy a birthday meal for my spouse. This was to be a very special occasion for us was nigh ruined due to the rude, and inhospitable staff at this supposed fine dining establishment. I would rather go to Aldi myself to make a charcuterie board than pay double or triple for the joke that was severed to us last night. In addition to the server explaining the wine we wanted to buy a bottle of was supposedly the most expensive bottle and I am appalled this place even has any business. We were served the wrong bottle verified via tasting the original tasting glass from the flight we ordered. Either we were served the wrong wine, or they con the idiotic locals that frequent this place well enough with their Aldi charcuterie to think they are in fact a fine dining restaurant worthy of a Michelin star. The horrifically comedic attempt at a foolish server to try to be some sort of sommelier was a joke worse than puns you hear from your father.

Wandering Vine is an absolute treat. I went with a couple girlfriends for brunch, we are planning on making it a monthly ritual. I also can't wait to try their dinner! The service is outstanding, the owners are hands on and incredible, food was superb. 10/10 recommend checking it out if you haven't yet!

We dined for brunch on 2/25/24 for the 1st time there, WOW!! what a great experience. The interior was beautiful, service was the Best I've had in many years!! Gaylen was or sever...amazing conversation and education of the menu and history. Brunch was amazing to say the least, homemade breakfast sausage was out of this world.. What a wonderful experience overall, definitely a hidden diamond in the KC metro for sure. The owners are wonderful folks that interact with guests.
