The generational owner and family of Wally’s is doing a very good job. The shakiness of the transition was troublesome, but all sees to have worked out — well. Indeed, its reputation (and what it provides) has reassumed its rightful place as a solid destination for discriminating diners of taste and sophistication, yet the restaurant accommodates nearly every type of patron, absent the snottiness that similar restaurants exhibit, looking down on anything less than the privileged class. What an amazing continuity, even in the face of a pandemic and rapidly changing local market. Our last visit was during the first night of Restaurant Week, and every table was filled nearly all of the time. The fact that Wally’s resisted the urge to overbook and have people waiting is a credit to their experience and resolve. Two very affordable (and sufficiently extensive) fixed price menus were available, and everything came to our table (and to others at which I peaked) seemed to be prepared to perfection, beautifully presented, and professionally served. The restaurant is well-staffed, and though Restaurant Week is one of the busiest periods of the year (and bringing in many locals who might otherwise — and unnecessarily — intimated by the grace and charm of Wally’s), everything seemed to work perfectly well. As we have done every year when leaving Wally’s during Restaurant Week, we resolved to come more often, and we usually do. To be sure, it’s been a challenging time for fine dining establishments in the Coachella Valley, with many of them closing, in part due to the pandemic, but also due to the increasing interest in more casual dining that has overcome our society. However, thank the heavens that Wally is well-situated, well-prepared, and well-experienced to provide exceptional dining in every dimension for many years to come. We are grateful to have Wally’s as a dining option, and I encourage everyone to consider wonderful evenings at this venerable establishment.

Wally’s is a desert treasure. It is our favorite restaurant in the Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage & Indian Wells area.

We enjoyed mixing with Happy Hour bites and Restaurant week menu. Their service is very attentive and friendly. Happy hour music is very nice. All food is great, especially soufflé !! Will be back again!

This was my third time dining at Wally's and it made me realize I should go there much more often. They are quite expensive but this was during Palm Springs restaurant week and the $59 three-course meal was well worth it. I did add a souffle for an extra $8 but am glad that I did. My tuna tartar appetizer and whitefish entree were both wonderful. I also had a Manhattan which they do better than anywhere else I have been. The service was even better than the food. My waiter was helpful and attentive. Many other members of the staff helped in various ways. It is a lovely environment and the musical entertainment was great. Altogether it was a marvelous dining experience.

Excellent restaurant with great service and wonderful food served in a very comfortable manner. Nobody rushing can’t complement the staff enough.

A delightful experience. The Salmon on a bed of Red Quinoa was a pleasantly large portion in a tasty sauce. The mushrooms were very good but, the sauce was too sweet for my taste. The Chocolate Souffle was, after all, the reason for going to Wally's.

Incredible food! Top deserts! Order the Souflee or the Lava Cake. Incredible. Had the chicken and the short rib plates as entrees. Very big room. Good music. On the old school side. Top top service and management pays very close attention to detail. Can’t recommend highly enough.
